Wasn't expecting Max Kruse to play upfront. Very strange from Low. Germany have sometimes been playing with a false 9, and they have Gotze, Reus, Ozil, Muller, Kroos, Draxler, Gundogan, Schurrle, Sam and Podolski to pick from for the front 4, seems weird playing a quite average guy upfront.

I can understand the 4 keepers. He basically will have to pick 3 of the 4 for the WC, with Jack Butland as an outside chance. Taking 4 will give him/the coaches a good look at them.

Welbeck's actually been very good when he's been played up front this season, unless I'm forgetting someone obvious then easily the 3rd best player behind Sturridge and Rooney.
Smalling is also normally good to excellent whenever he actually plays at centre back, its just at right back he's shit.
Cleverley is just a down right awful selection, and you've missed the worst one: Michael Carrick has had an appalling season, definition of a player being picked for his reputation.

He's been quality in basically every other game when he's been upfront this season.
In fact, the similarities between Sturridge at Chelsea and Welbeck at United are so obvious I can't believe people haven't put two and two together with this one.

Welbeck doesn't. He's a decent player but nothing much. Sturridge is closing in on world class.

Full of hate rivalry and bias. VP hates Townsend because he plays for Tottenham, so he's overrated, assumes because 3 players play for Man United then they're automatically selected, then the Liverpool fan who says Play Gerrard, Henderson and Sterling with a good defence behind them and we'll be "grand" not forgetting the Newcastle fan hating on Adam Johnson because he plays for Sunderland \o/
