Arsenal v Bayern and Barca vs City \o/

Arsenal vs City in the final then ?

Could actually help both in the league if they end up going out

I fancy City tbh, can see them bullying Barca if they're on their game

They managed to beat Bayern away, so there's no reason why they can't beat Barca tbh. It should be a great tie.

And we should be fine. Great draw for us.

Almost guaranteed that we will go out and City and Arsenal will go through.

City-Barcelona could be a very good pair of matches.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are probably fucked, Drogba will almost certainly score and Man U are going through.

Would have rather played Madrid or Barcelona than Bayern again, just for a change from last year ffs. It really makes no difference who you get at this stage other than a couple of million in prize money compared to the quarters. I doubt we can win it anyway so going out wouldn't be a bad thing and can give the players some rest like Liverpool, Newcastle and Everton etc. Does annoy me when people don't take into consideration the rest time the players of clubs get when not in Europe.

Yet being Europe allows for more funds to buy "backup" players

The difference between the 2nd rnd and quarters is around £3m i think, who you gonna get for £3m nowadays anyway? I'd much rather win the league.

£3m + a bit of European 'pedigree' to help attract a different kind of player

Arsenal just attracted one of the best players in the world, they aren't short of pedigree.

Yeah, but would Arsenal have that pedigree if they just dropped out in the last 16 every single time?

Money, recently won the league, made it to last 16 on our 3rd attempt, and we're pretty much famous the world over

Arsenals history is 10x what Man Citys is, until fairly recently Man City was a lower league club, if it wasn't for a few arabs it would still be that way. Arsenal aren't renowned for spending millions and millions unlike city.

Man City clearly can bring bigger players than Arsenal, with the main reason being money. Arsenal aren't poor mind, but nothing on City

I'm still astounded that you'd rather Arsenal just give up and drop out of the CL after the group stages

If you have money (which apparently you do), then buy cover for your squad and stop complaining about the pure torture of having to compete in 2 competitions at once.

I wouldn't say nothing, but very little to most players. There's a few that it seems to matter for though.

Would Suarez have gone to Liverpool or Van Persie to us (turning down more money at City) if it meant nothing?

See only City fans can think this way, don't you think everyone would do that if possible? We don't have a bottomless pit, but we do have enough to buy the right player when available. Its only been a few months that we've had this opportunity too ffs.

Bullshit. Spurs, Utd, Chelsea all have essentially a 'backup' team ready to step up (Spurs' just didn't work out too well, although they did win all their games in Europe)

Ye have had money for the past 6 years, maybe not Ozil money but certainly 'backup/rotation' money

Given the amount of money Arsenal actually have this is a monumentally ill-informed post. Arsenal aren't some club of paupers scratching a living on free transfers, last I checked you had a cash balance of around £150m. Just because your club doesn't want to spend it doesn't mean they're unable to.

And that bit is just plain stupid.
