I get why people are calling for Wenger's head - it's an overreaction yes, but a lack of activity in the January window would give the impression that we're not attempting to strengthen our position, which can be viewed as a failure to do his job properly.

I do think this is a freak result though, like the 6-3; I'm just not sure we can come back as impressively as from that and the Villa game, lots of tired legs and minds out there.

And credit where credit's due, excellent attacking from the front 4 today, we couldn't handle their fluid movement.

So by saying he's poor in that position when put under some form of pressure, then when he does actually have some defending to do he dives in and gives away a penalty that has somehow made me clueless and an idiot? Hows he poor in that position when hes played there most of the season (he was actually playing bit further up when Lucas wasnt injured, but then was playing a little deeper when we had Suarez out) ? Thats one penalty, so lets just forget all the other defending hes done... By your logic Sczesny and your centerbacks must be shit too cause they couldnt defend today when put under pressure?

In all fairness he never played for England like he did for Liverpool, but i always rated him over Lampard and as i said he is easily my favourite English player since he started playing.

It was the first thing he had to do defensively against us, fuck me we didn't get into your half until then i don't think!

This would be closer if our players weren't scared of tackling Eden Hazard. Embarrassing amounts of space for both his (admittedly well-taken) goals. Shame as we'd actually done ok for most of it (I only started watching after 12 minutes but still).

Gerrard is shite, only made 34 passes today, as are Liverpool who only had 43% of possession.

Howard Webb is awful. He just doesn't come across as impartial at all. If a Chelsea player drops and asks for a free kick, they will get it. Booked Sammy, Sissoko and Yanga-Mbiwa for very little, but let Chelsea players away with their tackles.

Chelsea deserved their victory today though, won with ease. Newcastle weren't too bad either.
