Yeah the first Cap film was boring as hell. Put me off seeing this one but based on a lot of what i've seen i might give it a go now

I've seen a couple of reviews saying it's up there with the first Iron Man film as one of the most enjoyable/watchable Marvel films. The main improvement seems to be Cap himself being a more engaging character rather than a boring lump in a suit.

Just got back from Captain America and loved it. A good 95% of the cinema left before the bit right at the end.

Cant wait to see Scarlett Witch and Quicksilver in the new avengers though.

Son of Batman. Another good Batman animated film, and good to see Deathstroke as the villain.

Didn't like Deathstroke's voice. Maybe I'm too used to Arrow's version of slade.

Draft Day. Kevin Costner couldn't even save the film, it was pretty bland. I like the North American sports system, but it didn't have a real plot whereas Moneyball did.

I give it two out of five stars.

Has anyone else seen The Amazing Spider-Man 2 yet? I went and saw it this evening and absolutely loved it. I enjoyed the first and was looking forward to the second but really did not expect to enjoy it as much as I did.

- Andrew Garfield absolutely kills it as Peter Parker. He does a great job of making it funny and light-hearted when it needs to be but also is believable in the emotional and dramatic scenes. Shits all over Tobey Maguire's portrayal.
- The relationship between Peter and Gwen is brilliant, captivating and feels real.
- The action scenes are just brilliant and great fun to watch.
- People have criticized the length of the movie (around 140 minutes, I think) but I wasn't bored at all.

I can understand why some people were a bit annoyed with the plot in general and whilst I can sympathize why I found myself more than willing to forgo any minor gripes because of how entertaining it was and how emotionally invested I was in the characters.

Also, the ending (MAJOR SPOILERS)

When Peter fights Harry and Gwen eventually dies - man, that had me going. The fight was dramatic and I could feel my heart pounding and I was genuinely pretty torn up when Gwen died. The whole film Peter had to make the decision whether to be with Gwen or leave or be (as per her dead father's wishes) and in the end it cost her her life, and given the strength of their on-screen relationship it felt real and it was extremely sad. It could never have worked as well if Garfield and Emma Stone didn't have such an awesome chemistry.

9/10, probably my favourite film of the year (or second behind The Grand Budapest Hotel).

Go see it.

GoldenEye. Hasn't aged very well. Bond power-sliding a tank on the streets of St. Petersburg is still awesome though.
