I enjoyed those 30 seconds.

Well, we did much better than I thought we would in this tie. The Rooney gamble didn't pay off, looked unfit and shit all match. Moyes' subs were baffling, he didn't know what to do with the situation, shat himself and fucked it up.

If we hadn't conceded an equaliser so soon then maybe, maybe it might have been different. But, oh well. Goodbye to the CL for a while.

Evra was summed up in 60 seconds, made his name by thriving forward but always been a bit suspect defensively.

I'd like to see Bayern v Madrid in the next round.

I've been really unimpressed with Bayern over the two legs and would like to see a team actually have a go at them.

That's harsh to be fair.

He used to be very good defensively, he just stopped bothering about 3 years ago.

I'm so glad for the home game to be 2nd leg again. If we come away with a away goal again I think we can make the final

Happy with getting Atletico, though they won't be any pushover that's for sure.

Apparently appears that UEFA have ruled that Chelsea can't stop Courtios from playing either, even with this apparently £5m cause Atletico would need to pay (which they can't afford to do).

I don't really see how UEFA can make such a call when it's perfectly fine for other players out on loan not being allowed to play against parent clubs.

That's a FA rule not a UEFA/FIFA rule.

This will go to the Court of Arbitration thingy, Celtic did it

Atletico-Real final I'm going for.

Bayern were average against us, I can't see them beating Madrid. Atletico, even without Courtois, are such a strong team. And still unbeaten in the CL.

I think it'd be the first time two teams from the same city will appear in the final.

We're not "picking their team".

It's more do to with the fact that if there is a clause that both clubs agreed upon within the loan contact to begin with then surely that should be upheld?

I'm not really phased either way, just seems stupid if both clubs agree on a particular deal and then it's basically null and void if such a situation was to unfold, with it now having done so.

Have a feeling Chelsea might fluke this again. Over 2 legs they could grind out a win against Atletico and in a one off game could definitely get a result against Bayern or Real. I think over 2 legs Madrid or Bayern would be too much but I just have this horrible feeling about them in a final.

Chelsea chief executive Ron Gourlay confirms that the club will allow goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, on loan at Atletico Madrid, to play against his parent club in the Champions League semi-finals.
Before the draw was made, Uefa released a statement to clarify that it expects the Belgium international to be free to face the Blues in both legs.
"The loan was arranged back in the start of the season. He can play against Chelsea, that's never in doubt," Gourlay says.
"Regarding the Uefa statement we'll evaluate that in due course. As far as we are concerned we will comply with loan rules. He can play in both ties against Chelsea if selected. That is fact."

We won't win it, so this won't end up mattering at all, but... if the same team wins the Champions League twice in two years, isn't the term fluke a bit demeaning? Surely there's more to it than that.

It's not 'picking the team' but it is asserting undue pressure on their team selection and is rightly being criticised and, apparently, is against competition rules.

Chelsea's loan abuse is downright dodgy and I'm glad someones standing up to it.

It definitely wouldn't be a fluke if they won it, nor was it last time.

Playing defensively is the best way to play against teams like Bayern and Barcelona.

C'mon Atletico!

I want then to win it for 2 reasons:
1. they are the underdogs
2. all the other managers have won 2 already, meaning that if Simeone doesn't win it, somebody will equal Bob Paisley's record of 3

It was somewhat amusing listening to Townsend's biased bullsh*t getting worse and worse as the game went on...
