There's definitely some sentiment in it, but at the same time we have the opportunity to buy a world class midfielder for £20-25m. I think most fans want him back but would be upset if he was brought in at the expense of a top level striker or defensive midfield. We need to prioritise.
That said, we could make room for him. Ozil doesn't play through strictly through the middle and is effectively given a free role to roam to wherever space is. He popped up on each wing a number of times against West Brom on Sunday and I think given his ability there should be no effort to curtail this freedom. If we wanted to incorporate Fabregas into that side we could do so by playing him in front of Ramsey and the defensive midfielder, with Ozil roaming around near him. The issue would be, providing we play Fabregas centrally and Walcott on the right wing, that our left flank would be exposed. Either Ozil or Fabregas would have to cover there and that's tough when neither of them are sticking to the flank.

Theo?

Oh yeah. I feel bad I forgot out 4th best player tbh. I'm not convinced with Theo up top though.
Mesut isn't inconsistent, it's just the fact he has Olivier Giroud and playmakers on the wing who don't make runs for him to pick out. Can't expect him to do it all on his own.
Carroll.

Nah, that's lazy. He used to be like that but in the few seasons he's really upped his productivity. Of course he has the odd game where he fails to contribute - all players do - but more often than not he is a constant threat and gets a good number of goals and assists.

Good. I don't know anyone who actually liked the thick cunt.
Carroll.
I watched him against Bayern (Yeah dont judge a player on one or two games etc) and he looked so lazy and absolutely clueless. He had a good start of the season but then his form clearly dipped
Telegram Sam
His form didn't dip at all. He started the season well before picking up an abdominal injury in September, returned in November, and after regaining full fitness he scored five goals in the space of a few weeks between December/ January before doing his knee in. His form never 'dipped'.
He scored or assisted 9 goals in 14 Premier League games this season.

And to judge him against one of the best sides in the World when we have Giroud up front is quite ridiculous. He's a hardworking player, it just aesthetically looks like he doesn't do much.

I have a feeling he'll sparkle next year.

I thought Carroll was talking about Walcott. My mistake.
I'm extremely confident that he'll improve next season and I think he did well this year given the circumstances. He moved from Spain where the style of play is significantly less physical and not as quick, whilst he's also never played in a league without a winter break. He also found himself playing in a side with so few natural runners and that is clearly going to severely hamper his own performances. I maintain that if Walcott had been fit all season Ozil would probably have a number of extra assists because a quick, speedy winger is exactly the sort of player Ozil can feed balls to.
The biggest criticism I have of Ozil was his performances in the big matches but even then he wasn't exactly the only Arsenal player to fail miserably in that aspect. If we can keep Walcott and Oxlade-Chamberlain fit and bring in a faster striker then I am confident Ozil will bag a much larger number of assists and obviously as he gets more accustomed to life in the Premier League he'll improve as well. If I remember correctly David Silva had a pretty low-key first season in England before totally coming alive in his second. I think it'll be the case with Ozil too.

FYI: He started slowly and didn't really hit top-form in the first-half of his first season but he came alive in the second-half then carried that form into the title-winning season.

There was at least a settling in period in then, even if Silva adapted quicker than Ozil has done.

Yeah basically and it probably helped that Silva didn't arrive with the same fanfare that Ozil did, there wasn't as much expectation around him.

Most definitely. Ozil will come good, I'm not worried at all about him. Some of the reporting about him has been scandalous this season.

Deserved I'm afraid.
The Immobile/Dortmund stories have been going around for weeks but in the last day or so a delegation's meant to have arrived in Italy to start negotiations. The only sticking point is he's co-owned by Juve and Torino, given the season he's had I can't see either being that happy with €10m/€11m for their share.
Edit: Sky Italia reporting he's agreed a 5 year deal with Dortmund, they just have to agree terms with Juve/Torino now, pressure on the Italians if he has agreed terms.
Oh aye, Mino Raiola confirmed that he's meeting with Juve to finally sort Pogba's contract extension, typically Football Italia posted some recycled horsesh*t linking him to Man Utd & Chelsea around an hour before Raiola's announcement...
Jason
They wanted to keep him, but his wages would of meant the squad would've had little to no room for any improvements next season, the FFP for League One is a joke. Frimpong will get a Championship club next season, no doubt.
