They're only spent about 10m net.

Assuming that they actually owned all the player rights for their outgoing transfers, which given Atletico's history of third-party ownership strikes me as quite a generous assumption.

I kind of find it slightly odd Atletico could spend that much on a player when, if you believe reports, they were trying to get Chelsea to lower their price on Torres because they couldn't afford it.

That's probably because Torres' wages are ridiculous

Possibly.

I imagine he'd take a wage cut to rejoin them. Guess it would just depend on what sort.

Felipe Luis cost Chelsea £27m didn't he?

His release clause was only £21m

They've sold a fair few players, they've won the league, and they've just signed a big new kit deal with Nike (12 years, I think) they probably have a bit of cash to splash around. If they didn't do so with Torres then that just means they have good judgement.

Maybe it was £17m then or else my mind messed up some currency exchange.

Southampton are getting torn apart. It's ridiculous how any team that shows promise outside the Top 4 are instantly picked to shreds. FFP and Homegrown rules working perfectly, no team will ever break the established 4/5

Jenkinson is on his way out probably. Absolutely gutted. One of only two proper Arsenal in the side along with Gibbs.

I don't believe he'll leave permanently, Wenger knows what he can do IMO.

Regular game time at Hull for instance will do him good.

If Spurs get Rodriguez, potentially only leaves QPR and Newcastle as options for Loic Remy. - Not what he hoped for.

Well there would be a new opening for a striker at Southampton, wouldn't it?

Pleased with the Chambers signing - he can cover at centre-back if needed and has the potential to become a great right-back for us as well. Debuchy won't be around forever so he has the chance to establish himself as our number one. I don't want Jenkinson sold though, he should go on loan.

There is nothing I'd love more than to see Ronaldinho in the Prem. I really wanted him to go to Blackburn a few years back.

I'd be happy with the Rodriguez deal. Not sure what will happen with his medical though if he's still injured. Schneiderlin i'm not so sure about. I've heard lots of hype about him, but I didn't see what all the fuss was about last season and would he really be an improvement on what we've got? Doubt it.

I could just hear the commentary!
"Ronaldinho nutmegs his man, beats another and passes it out to Jon Walters. He whips it in towards Crouch who heads it back to Bojaaaaaaaaaan!"

Koeman reportedly thinking of leaving Southampton already. Agreed to the departures of Shaw, Lallana, lambert being sold but the rest apparently sold above his head.
