DeAndre Yedlin is about to join Spurs. Apparently he will stay with Seattle until the end of the MLS season and then join up with Spurs in January. He was good at the world cup, certainly showed more energy and fight than Naughton ever has. Hopefully Naughton will be off in January or the end of the season.

Vieira sold to Juventus in 2005, age 29.
Henry sold to Barcelona in 2007, age 29.
Fàbregas sold to Barcelona in 2011, age 24.
van Persie sold to Man Utd in 2012, age 29.
Vermaelen sold to Barcelona in 2014, age 28.

In that same time Chelsea, Liverpool and Man Utd have only had 4 captains between them.

I think he should be. Or at least a player like that.

He can play wing back on either side as well as as a winger pretty much perfect for the 3-5-2 and we defo need depth and also when we eventually move to some form of 4-3-3 we will be able to use him further up as well.

Van Gaal's said he's only playing 3 at the back because the squad is unbalanced and is preference is for 4-3-3 whilst bemoaning the fact our wingers are shite (on two separate occasions I believe) so it stands to reason that if we got a player like Di Maria we'd play 4-3-3.

Although I'm becoming more convinced we're done for the summer baring a back up centre-back, which would be frustrating but sadly typical of the club.

Going to 4-3-3 just means you're going to play Rooney and/or Mata out of position, which is stupid given they've been Utd's 2 best players in pre-season.

It also doesn't make sense changing your formation after the season has started when you've been playing well in pre-season.

A good centre-back and a right wing back and they'll do until Strootman's available.

We've shipped Aleksander Tonev off to Celtic for the season. Good riddance as far as I'm concerned. he lacks all the attributes you would want in a winger, shit passer, shit dribbler, can't pick a cross and his shooting is a threat to any passing aircraft.
