Premier League has just now ratified a loan move for Tom Cleverley to Aston Villa.

Da fuck?

They put the paperwork in late last night, but Utd were busy with other things...

Celtic have asked them/FIFA to ratify Guidetti deal too

Always amazed how people think Sturridge was a punt. Saw him play for Bolton and Chelsea and he looked exactly the same player as he is now. I was 100% confident that one would be a success.

He's definitely improved since then but I agree on the first point. It didn't seem like a particularly big gamble at the time and it definitely doesn't with hindsight.

Looking forward to seeing us bring in a 38 year old free agent as CB. Hopefully it's the one and the only Mikael Silvestre.

I saw him play against us for Bolton and Chelsea. He scored both times and did that terrible dance thing right in front of me when he scored for Bolton. You could tell he had something about him but at times he looked a bit restricted. That was probably largely down to the fact that Drogba was the main man though.

Transfers can go through after the deadline if the papers were sent in before it.

I know that and after posting that I recalled that, but I thought the move to take TC to Villa had died on deadline day so I was surprised it was resurrected.

Apparently Cleverley called Paul Lambert to beg him to resurrect the deal for him - when you thought you couldn't get any lower...

Basingstoke Town have offered a contract to Ronaldinho BBC

Imagine the amount of Basingstoke careers on FM15 if it happens.

If the rumors about his demands are true then there is no chance of that happening, a few Brazilian clubs offered him deals but he wanted like 20% of the gate apparently

He could still do a job for a Prem club if he got himself fit

Such a shame he didn't join Basingstoke, he would have loved it. We have six Costas and a Nandos.

Everything is in place for Cristiano Ronaldo to make a dream return to Manchester United, according to Sky Sports’ Spanish football expert Guillem Balague.

The 29-year-old swapped Old Trafford for Real Madrid in a £80million deal more than five years ago, but speculation has mounted that he could be set for a return to play under Louis van Gaal.

Newspaper reports have suggested the Ballon D’Or winner is unhappy with Real Madrid’s transfer policy and wants to play again for the club he represented between 2003 and 2009.

And Balague told Revista de La Liga that a deal is likely with finance not an issue for Manchester United.

Balague said: “He is unhappy and he’s said so – but then he corrected himself by saying ‘I didn’t mean what he said’. It was a bit confusing.

“Anyway, you have to say he’s not happy that Ozil left and he didn’t like the fact that Xabi Alonso and Di Maria left.

“He has this idea, I think, that at Real Madrid he is doing a job and he is working, but he enjoyed himself almost like a kid at Manchester United.

“He dreams of going back to Manchester United and Manchester United have got all the finances in place to get him.

“When will that be? It depends, of course, on a lot of things. It depends on Real Madrid and on Cristiano himself.

“I have a pretty good idea of when he wants to go. It won’t be this month or next month, but he wants to go back to Manchester United and everything is in place for him to return to Old Trafford.”

It's gonna happen, Guillem says so.

There's probably better ways to spend the money given his age, but I'd spunk my pants if he did come back.

That's true although I'm sure the amount of kits we'd sell would seriously cushion whatever finances we use.

Can Rooney be sent along with money to RM?

JK, although I can't imagine a harmony with all of RVP, Rooney, Falcao, and Ronaldo on one team. But any United fan would have zero problems with it if we're financially capable.

You'd like to hope that after potentially spending close to £200m+ (if C.Ron signs) that they'd have a good side at the end of it. Would be a touch worried if that wasn't the case. That said, they probably still need to spend another £100m (excluding C.Ron) to fill the remaining gaps.
