Good point for us, it was a hostile atmosphere and considering we beat Chievo on Saturday then got another point today is a positive thing.

Let's take it to Roma this weekend with a few days of rest. Get ready, BR.

Hopefully you'll have one eye on Shakhtar. I do expect you guys to win though...,

Hope we can beat Samp tomorrow night. We should do although the first two home games v Catania and Bologna were pretty worrying.

Former Argentina international Matias Almeyda has written about some of the worst aspects of Italian football in his new autobiography, including doping, match-fixing and problems with the mafia.

Extracts from the book - entitled Almeyda: Life and Soul - feature in La Gazzetta dello Sport and make for explosive reading, with the midfielder, who spent eight years in Italy with Lazio, Parma, Brescia and Inter, speaking of his experiences of life on the peninsula.

Speaking of his time with Parma, he talks about being given what he now believes were drugs - a story reinforced by television footage of Fabio Cannavaro taking on intravenous fluids the night before a match.

"At Parma we were given an IV drip before games," he wrote. "They said it was a mixture of vitamins but before entering the field I was able to jump up as high as the ceiling. Players do not ask questions, but then in the following years there are cases of former players dying from heart problems, suffering from muscular issues and more. I think it is the consequence of the things that have been given to them."

Almeyda also writes openly on his battle with alcohol during his time at Inter Milan, when his career was winding down.

"Once in Azul, my country, I drank five litres of wine, like Coca Cola, and I ended up in some kind of coma," he wrote. "To try to get it out of my system I ran five kilometres until I saw the sun spinning. A doctor gave me five hours of infusion and it would have been a scandal as at the time I was playing for Inter. When I woke up I saw my whole family around the bed and I thought it was my funeral."

On his earlier spell with Parma, he wrote of a disagreement with the former president and owner Stefano Tanzi and tells of men breaking into his home - an incident he claims was repeated when former team-mate Savo Milosevic had a similar argument with the club.

"I had a fight with Stefano Tanzi and several days later I woke up to find my new car was missing from the garage," he wrote. "Milosevic was also in conflict with the club with a contract as high as mine and the same thing happened.

"One day my wife comes home and hears voices inside. She ran away and called the police. There was a message on the wall, made with machine oil, a message from the mafia. My wife had a premature birth. Following the 2002 World Cup I've never been back to Parma."

He describes events from a match in 2001 when Parma lost 3-1 to Roma, who pipped Juventus to the Scudetto due to that result.

"Some companions in Parma told us that the Roma players wanted us to lose the game," he wrote. "I said no and the majority responded that way, but on the field I saw that some did not run as usual so I asked to be substituted and went in the locker room. Money? I do not know, they called it a favour..."

Gives a frightening insight into the power of some of these UlraS groups. You can't help thinking of the scene in Fight Club where they follow the guy into the bogs "We cook your meals, we haul your trash, we connect your calls, we drive your ambulances. We guard you while you sleep. Do not... fuck with us"

Dreadful half from Lazio, a handball goal in the 3rd minute aside we've not threatened Napoli at all and it wouldn't flatter them if they were 3 rather than 2 up.

Stekelenburg hasn't been the best of signings, it's fair to say. Just made a howler but he's only really been bang average previously.

Cavani hat-trick, Behrami looks superb.

Napoli since losing Lavezzi look even better, made some super signings with the Lavezzi cash and they look real title contenders, especially with the San Paolo effect.

This side deserves Champions League football, utter class.

The only problem they could have is their relative lack of depth, but when it comes to a starting XI, I'd say it's as strong as Juve's. When it comes to depth, they could potentially struggle. Milan and Inter both leading 1-0 still.

Udinese getting 3rd was a bit of a nightmare for Italian football, yeah.

Just gotta hope Napoli can go far in the Europa League, they'll be one of the best teams in there, just gotta give it a good go.

^ Milan 2-0! El Shaarawy again. Inter up 2-0 as well.

Cavani misses his penalty, could have been his 4th goal tonight! I'm in love with this side. I like Udinese as a side but they are just not good enough in Europe.

Forgot to add that this performance is against a 10 man Samp, Maresca got sent off just after half time. We're looking shattered and this is after 10 days rest. Saturday night may get ugly..

Horrible performance from Lazio. The defense looked like strangers - which they kinda are seeing as it's Ciani's 2nd game and Konko's just back from injury, still, time after time we (well Konko) played Napoli onside and Cavani certainly took his chances.

I also had the pleasure of seeing Hernanes take the worst ever corner I can remember. God knows what he did but he somehow punted it downfield and it almost crossed the halfway line on the far side of the pitch as it went out.

^ That corner was horrid, I was thinking how he could do that from the angle he was at... not one of his best days. Napoli and Juve look a world apart from the rest.

We made Napoli look better than they are. Fully fit, the Milan clubs will run them close and if Roma get their sh*t together they could be up there as well.

I'm quite pleased reading that. We were linked with him and people were pissed we spent more on De Gea when we could have got 'proven quality' for much less in Stek.

Thought this was interesting:

Chocolate magnate for Milan?

There are reports that Milan are in preliminary talks to sell the club to Michele Ferrero, the head of a chocolate empire.

Ferrero is the head of a chocolate empire that includes Nutella and Ferrero Rocher, making him one of the richest men in Italy.

As I've said several times before, it is becoming evident that the Berlusconi era at Milan needs to come to an end sooner rather than later. Having someone from the outside willing to spend money taking over the majority ownership is an absolute necessity if the club wishes to remain at the top.

He doesn't often make mistakes as bad as last night, but I can barely remember ever thinking 'Stek kept us in the game today' or 'if it weren't for Stek we wouldn't have won', you know what I mean. Admittedly he's been behind dodgy defences since he joined, but still.

Happy birthday to Totti as well, 36 today. Hero. Played really well last night too.

As much as I dislike him you have to admire that scoring record from a guy who's never been an out and out striker.

No positives to take from last night I'm afraid. Teams rarely hammer other teams in Italy, if it gets to 3-0 they take their foot off the pedal, which is what Juve did last night. When we did get one back, they fancied getting a fourth, which of course they had no problems in doing.

We've got Atalanta at home next but I don't fancy us to beat anyone atm. You guys have had a dodgy couple of games, but it was obvious you'd have no trouble in disposing of Siena at home today. We'd make a right meal of it.

Some big scored around the Serie A today, Torino battering Atalanta 5-1 (Roma might have a chance against them), Palermo thumping Chievo 4-1 and Bologna winning 4-0 against Catania.

As for us, we controlled the first half against Siena but struggled to create that many clear chances, the goals coming from a corner and a penalty. Second half we switched off and let Siena have a bit more of the ball though had a few good opportunities on the break. Shame we couldn't keep a clean sheet either, though it was our own fault for not marking properly at a corner.

Here's the pick of Palermo's goals this afternoon (apologies about the poor quality)

Conte might get his ban reduced to 4 months if his latest appeal is sucessful meaning he'll be back on the bench in early December. Seems we'll find out the verdict on Monday.

Hopefully so, it's pathetic he's been given the ban he has.

Not that Juve have really suffered in his absence so far.
