Done well to get in at 1-1 after that half, some poor defending that went unpunished. Need to keep the ball better in the 2nd half, not got any defensive options on the bench so we'll just need to try and hit them on the counter or do damage from set pieces like we've been doing throughout the group stages.

Shakhtar lead- and move top of the group. Vital that Chelsea get a point now.

At least, Falcao will have the chance to win the Europa League 3 years in a row

Not moaning about the score, we haven't made any real chances, but bugger me, Galatasary have got to be one of the dirtiest teams to grace the CL in years. Foul after foul, elbows, two-footed lunges, diving, harassing the ref. Horrible.

Valencia lead Bayern 1-0. Looks like Bayern will be finishing 2nd and could play the likes of Barcelona and Man United. Teams like Real Madrid, PSG, Arsenal and Juventus look possibilities for the second pot however.

I don't know what the fuck Cech was thinking there

He was flawless thus far but that's just a stupid decision.

Chelsea was bound to lose this game. No spirit whatsoever.

Damn I miss Lampard

It's interesting that if Oscar didn't score in the 87th minute in Donetsk- a Juventus win against Shakhtar would also have meant Chelsea are out regardless of their result against Nordsjaelland. Never mind Victor Moses' goal.

It will be interesting if Shakhtar and Juve end up playing out for a 0-0 draw. I wonder what the Chelsea reactions would be!

But they are. Shakthar scored twice at the Bridge therefore they win the tie-breaker against Chelsea (pts in direct confrontation -> goal difference in direct confrontation -> away goal scored in direct confrontation)

The only way Chelsea qualify is if they beat the Danes and Shakthar wins against Juve.

Ah. I thought it was H2H pts, H2H gd and H2H home goals.
Chelsea in real trouble then.

Jumberto and co:

I was out so missed the game, the BBC are talking about how Cleverley was unspectacular and outshone by Powell. Redcafe are praising him for running the midfield which is closer to the truth?

Both were quite good. Powell was playing further forward so obviously he was more involved in the attacks than Cleverley was. I suppose to the BBC this means he played better.

I really don't rate Cahill or Luiz, why doesn't he play Ivanovic at CB?

Disappointed to lose but still confident that we can qualify. Benfica should lose at the Nou Camp and I fancy us to beat Spartak at home. I never fancied us to seal it tonight, and if we are to qualify it'll be nervy and close until the end.

We're fielding the same starting XI as the one that started against Tottenham, minus the injured Walcott who's been replaced by Oxlade-Chamberlain. Gibbs and Gervinho both fit enough to return to the bench.

Ronaldo has made Maicon, Zabeleta and Kompany look silly already tonight.

He's really in the mood.

City's defending again.

How the fuck did Khedira get through Kompany and Nestastic that easily?

Khedira really should have scored that. Looked like a good save by Hart but if Khedira had managed to kick the ball instead of the ground it was almost certainly a goal.

Excellent refereeing there with that over-rule, shame we have commentators so ignorant of the laws that they can't explain why.
