I'm fearing that I've lost the love for the game, I've been playing these games since the early Champ Manager days and I've had this one since release. I've tried three different careers and they've all got to the first game of the season and I've given up. I've tried Everton because they're who I support but I've never like managing them I find it too ease rising to the top and dominating in a few seasons. I tried Real Oviedo because I recently bought shares in the club, I just didn't know where to start and couldn't be arsed making the effort with them. Then I tried Tranmere and the same happened with them as what happened with Real Oviedo.

What do I do, do I just accept that I don't like it anymore? I WANT to play it but nothing is gripping me like it used to.

I get this feeling quite a bit with FM, but adter a day or two of not playing I find I really want to. As daft as it sounds, winning is possibly the best way to get addicted to the game again and learn more about it. Maybe go with Rangers? There seems to be a lot of those games going around at the minute and I haven't seen anyone fail in Division 3 yet (thus, instant success) and even some still winning league trophies etc.

I suppose from there the good run you'll have through Div3/Div2 maybe straight to the SPL will have you enjoying the game and maybe start something for you.

Just a thought

Rangers sounds interesting, I've always found taking a team to the top a more enjoyable experience. Last time I really enjoyed a game of FM was when I placed my Local team Prescot Cables into the Blue Sq North League and taken them to the Pream, and that was two years ago. But that takes a lot of time and effort.

Are there any quite rich lower league teams?

I think Mansfield get quite a giant budget for their level. Other club like Halifax (BSN) are in quite a good position, pretty much anywhere with 0 debt would be a good choice as it allows you to make your own money

Rangers from the Scottish third is a tremendous challenge, you get 3 fairly easy seasons of being able to build the team you will take into Europe and the team who will dominate Scottish football once again.

This game sucks many cocks. Gone are the glory days of 01/02, everything is overcomplicated, spend 50 hours just to get through pre-season then get hammered 5-0 in your first real match.

Have you given classic mode a whirl? The whole point of it was to cater to people such as yourself who yearned for a return to simpler time.

Yeah, I tried to download a skin which makes career mode look like FMC but you also seem to lose functions.

FC Catanzaro might be good fun, Lecce are a good shout. FC Koln perhaps?

I am the same, I will go off the game for a while, then I get one good game going and I am hooked, I think until you get that addictive game where you achieve success (or success based on where the club should be) it is hard getting into any of the FM/CMs
