You need to copy and overwrite the faces and the new config file from the update pack into the faces folder.

It's a known issue with FM26 - read this. We're assuming this issue will get resolved in upcoming official patches/updates.
The new players were added before FM26 was released and didn't have the right UID yet. We've started the process of mapping them to the correct person's UID.
When you have a blank space instead of a cut-out, it means there is a config file pointing to a folder in which an image with that UID is not present. This generally happens when an update pack is installed in a separate folder and not part of the overall faces folder, or there is a rogue config file somewhere. It could also be that you have somehow not downloaded the full megapack but only part of it. Search within the graphics folder for the UID of this person, and you will probably find the secondary image. Delete that folder, and it should be fine.

In line with guidance on the official SI forums, At present, FM26 cannot handle multiple files with the same name. For example, if you have two files with the name "kit.png", it will not load both. and Player Faces: These work fine. You do not need the icon files anymore, and they can cause issues with the note above. Delete them.
As a result, the iconfaces are no longer available for download because they're not needed. You should also delete the iconfaces folder manually from your system too 👍

You need to change your user data location. Simple steps on how to do so can be found here.

The torrent file includes the base megapack uploaded just before that year’s FM version is released. Any and all subsequent update packs are to be downloaded separately.
For those who have never used torrents, in the vast majority of cases, it's just a question of downloading the client program (a small file, less than 1MB) and then downloading the megapack torrent file (a tiny file, around 20k) and then letting the program do the job.

Please report this so that they can be reuploaded. Since the files are hosted outside our pages, there isn't much we can do about this unfortunately. You could try downloading the pack via torrent and get it this way.

To speed it up, it is recommended that you have as few programs running as possible so that the system can dedicate as many resources to the extraction as it possibly can.

You might have a poor internet connection or your browser might have some extensions which interrupt this download. Having loads of downloads ongoing and/or streaming may also de-prioritise this download.
Try using Google Chrome in incognito mode (or the equivalent mode for other browsers) and you should be able to resume the download from the point it was interrupted, if that happens.

Down the years, after an update pack was released, it was noted that some images included therein where of the wrong person, with a wrong extension or duplicated. Due to the way the download system is structured, these cannot be removed from the download, so there may well be a couple of hundred images’ worth of difference, depending on the version you download.
Our megapack covers 25,000 teams and it's impossible to cater for these kind of requests since players and staff get transferred or sacked or retire etc and recreating and reuploading 25,000 different smaller packs would be an impossible task. That's why we have all the images in a megapack so that everything is captured therein.
These persons do not appear in the default database for licensing reasons. This means that they only appear in your save-game because they were added via a custom file, generally the real name fix file. However, this means that their UID (which is what is used to map a person's image to the right individual) is different, and so the game cannot assign the image to them from your existing facepack.
To get them to show, you should individually download any previously available cut-out faces from here (or use the UID to find them in your existing facepack if you don't use the cut-out megapack), put them in a separate folder to your existing facepack and create a config file just for them using the method outlined in here (which works for all facepack styles, not just the cut-out megapack).

It's a licensing issue. Download this file (or the equivalent for your version of FM) to resolve it.

Within graphics, create a new folder and name it anything you want (preferably faces or Cut-out megapack or anything you want - the name does not make a bit of difference).
Extract the main 7.0 pack download into this new folder (the underlined folder from the above paragraph). This will take some time so be patient.
Once this is done, open the 7.01 update pack download. Move the images into the new folder (the same one as the above). Click OK/Yes when prompted if you want to overwrite images. Repeat the steps for update pack 7.02 - 7.08.

There are two images for Odegaard in the megapack: one with his old 15.0 UID and one with his new 15.3 UID. Whichever version of the game you're running, if you have all the megapack updates installed correctly, then you should see his cut-out in the game.
I intentionally left both in the megapack to avoid this particular issue.

Ive just noticed Reece Oxford doesnt have a pic either... should he?
Whats your advice to fix this? Is it posssible my whole megapack folder is fubar or just the XML? I cant even open the XML to Ctrl+F to see if Odegaards ID is listed... that is to say, I can open it but its sooooo painfully slow to respond to anything as its around 11MB???

Reece Oxford is not in the default database and so cannot appear in the megapack. That Odegaard UID is also not in the default database, which leads me to suspect that you may have downloaded a custom wonderkid editor data file, or something along those lines. Since the player UID of a custom-added person will differ from one save game to another, players from custom databases cannot have a cut-out in the megapack. Quite apart from the logistical aspect of having to keep on top of the many editor data files released and the many new players included in it...
In conclusion, there's probably nothing wrong with your megapack. To be sure, just check how many images in total you have in your megapack folder.
Also, a tip, the config file may be quite large, but if you open it with notepad, it shouldn't take you that long to open it

I believe the text is bunched together to save space in terms of downloading speed. It doesn't really make any difference as the game still reads it...

I am trying to download the facepack from scratch and clicked:
"Download Complete Pack (7.8)" under Messi's head.
Then I chose to download from the ul.to mirror at the foot of the page. Now I have all five parts of that extracted and I have a folder of faces with about 13k faces (705mb)
Obviously this can't be the complete pack, have I downloaded an update by mistake?
P.S. I can get a copy from a friend, who has Megapack 6.0, if I do that, what else would I have to download to get up to date?

The whole megapack contains over 161,000 images and is around 7.35GB in size, so it looks like you've not downloaded the whole thing. I don't think you've downloaded an update pack since they generally have between 2,000 and 3,500 images.
I would suggest downloading the torrent file, which contains the full 7.0 megapack and then download all subsequent update packs and apply them chronologically.
If you get megapack 6.0, you would then have to download update packs 6.01 to 6.10 AND 7.0 to 7.08 to be fully up-to-date. The above is probably a quicker way of going about things...

That is the correct procedure, yes.
Looks to me like you've not extracted the files correctly your end, however. Even if you count the size of the 7.00 files only, they're around 7GB on its own, ignoring the subsequent update packs - so it's hard to reconcile that with the 6.29GB size you are mentioning.
Try extracting the 7.00 files only and tell us whether the number is a bit closer to the total tally...

I know this is asking a bit too much, but could you add the amount of images included in each individual pack? If the amount extracted is the same as the amount included, then it's an issue with the files uploaded. But if the amount extracted is less, then I would think it's an issue with the extraction...

Do I have to take the 7.0 update pack too or just the 7.1, 7.2.. to complete the pack?

The 7.0 update pack is only intended for those who are up-to-date with the whole 6.x series.
Since you have downloaded the whole 7.0 pack, you need not download it and you can start downloading the update packs from 7.1 onwards

Read your answer too late... I took the 7.0 pack and all the updates, from 7.0 to 7.8, and now I have a folder with... 171143 files, is that normal?
