You say Pardew got his tactics right by playing much deeper, well i fail to see how playing that way against a side like Stoke who love to hit long balls is actually gonna be effective? And the second goal was a perfect example of 'dropping deep' not working against a side who love to pump it into the box from any angle. It just allows them to play to their strength's...

The way to combat long balls is to play deep. If you play high up the pitch against someone who is going to play the ball over the top you can be caught on the break by someone playing off the shoulder or heading the ball down.

Yeah.

Been noticing this for a lot of teams lately... are fans getting thicker? Some of the chants are absolutely moronic.

Keep hearing 'player x he scores when he wants' when player X scores his 3rd goal of the season or something.

Then the other day along with the usual 'we support our local team' and 'shall we sing a song for you' chants (how original), the West Ham fans sang 'You're just a shit Man City' at us. That doesn't even make sense. Not sure they've grasped the concept of that chant.

City fans did it as well to Ronaldo, 'You're just a shit Lionel Messi'. Such cutting wit. Surely 'Shit Chris Eagles' or something would have been better.

We've sung 'We're Man United, we'll do what we want' for years mind, so it might have been going on for ages and I just hadn't noticed.

Was just about to post to say Momo Diame is one of my favourite non-United players at the minute and then he scored!

Also, what was Cech doing for Cole's goal? Just watched it go in. Terrible keeping.
