Frequently Asked Questions

If you've never downloaded the pack before, you should just download the larger "complete pack".

If you're not a premium member, it is recommended that you download the base megapack via torrent by going to our cut-out megapack download page. After which, you should then download all the update packs released to date and apply them chronologically.

If you're a premium member, just download the most recent complete pack.

If you already have a version of our Cut-Out Faces Megapack installed, then click "Download Latest Changes" and you'll be presented with a list of all the updates we've released since you've last downloaded a file. Simply download any you might have missed, applying the oldest first and continuing to apply update packs in the chronological order in which they were released.
Watch this YouTube tutorial video, which should you guide you on the steps you need to follow to install it. You need to use Winrar (or a similar program) to extract the downloaded file.

Contrary to previous versions of the game, there is no need to change any settings in the preferences in FM26.
You need to copy and overwrite the faces and the new config file from the update pack into the faces folder.

If done correctly, you should be asked if you want to overwrite files – accept. You should have one folder for faces and another folder for iconfaces, and no sub-folder whatsoever in them.

These steps are to be repeated for every update pack downloaded, and they are to be installed chronologically.

Watch this YouTube tutorial video, which should you guide you on the steps you need to follow to install it. It might be for FM24, but the steps are exactly the same.
It's a known issue with FM26 - read this. We're assuming this issue will get resolved in upcoming official patches/updates.
The new players were added before FM26 was released and didn't have the right UID yet. We've started the process of mapping them to the correct person's UID.
When you have a blank space instead of a cut-out, it means there is a config file pointing to a folder in which an image with that UID is not present. This generally happens when an update pack is installed in a separate folder and not part of the overall faces folder, or there is a rogue config file somewhere. It could also be that you have somehow not downloaded the full megapack but only part of it. Search within the graphics folder for the UID of this person, and you will probably find the secondary image. Delete that folder, and it should be fine.

Otherwise, follow the steps in this comment and post the results so that we can assist you.
In line with guidance on the official SI forums, At present, FM26 cannot handle multiple files with the same name. For example, if you have two files with the name "kit.png", it will not load both. and Player Faces: These work fine. You do not need the icon files anymore, and they can cause issues with the note above. Delete them.

As a result, the iconfaces are no longer available for download because they're not needed. You should also delete the iconfaces folder manually from your system too 👍
You need to change your user data location. Simple steps on how to do so can be found here.

It is recommended that the user data location is not placed within the Steam installation folder as this may cause issues.
The torrent file includes the base megapack uploaded just before that year’s FM version is released. Any and all subsequent update packs are to be downloaded separately.
For those who have never used torrents, in the vast majority of cases, it's just a question of downloading the client program (a small file, less than 1MB) and then downloading the megapack torrent file (a tiny file, around 20k) and then letting the program do the job.

Torrent files need a torrent client to be downloaded. I personally use µTorrent but other common clients are BitTorrent, Vuze and Deluge. For those using torrents for the first time, here is a general walk-through on how to download torrents and a specific guide for µTorrent.

Be aware that it will take a substantial amount of time to download the file due to its sheer size and that other people depend on you hosting the file to get it so please leave your torrent client on after you have fully downloaded it. The etiquette is generally accepted to be to upload as much as you download, although this might not always be possible. The older the torrent file, the less likely it is that there will still be users seeding it.
Please report this so that they can be reuploaded. Since the files are hosted outside our pages, there isn't much we can do about this unfortunately. You could try downloading the pack via torrent and get it this way.
Extracting the file will take a while, but it shouldn't take the hours and hours that the program extracting will sometimes say it will. To speed it up, it is recommended that you have as few programs running as possible so that the system can dedicate as many resources to the extraction as it possibly can.

Secondly, for files as large as this, the calculation of the extraction time will be wildly incorrect at the start. After a while, it'll show a more realistic timeframe, which shouldn't be more than an hour or two if you have a good setup and few programs running at the same time.
You might have a poor internet connection or your browser might have some extensions which interrupt this download. Having loads of downloads ongoing and/or streaming may also de-prioritise this download.

Try using Google Chrome in incognito mode (or the equivalent mode for other browsers) and you should be able to resume the download from the point it was interrupted, if that happens.
The most recent update pack will include the most recent config file, so you can choose to download it and use it from there.

Alternatively, you can download fmXML and generate a config yourself. There's a video on YouTube on how to use it but it's really easy and the instructions are quite straight-forward.
Down the years, after an update pack was released, it was noted that some images included therein where of the wrong person, with a wrong extension or duplicated. Due to the way the download system is structured, these cannot be removed from the download, so there may well be a couple of hundred images’ worth of difference, depending on the version you download.
Our megapack covers 25,000 teams and it's impossible to cater for these kind of requests since players and staff get transferred or sacked or retire etc and recreating and reuploading 25,000 different smaller packs would be an impossible task. That's why we have all the images in a megapack so that everything is captured therein.
These persons do not appear in the default database for licensing reasons. This means that they only appear in your save-game because they were added via a custom file, generally the real name fix file. However, this means that their UID (which is what is used to map a person's image to the right individual) is different, and so the game cannot assign the image to them from your existing facepack.

To get them to show, you should individually download any previously available cut-out faces from here (or use the UID to find them in your existing facepack if you don't use the cut-out megapack), put them in a separate folder to your existing facepack and create a config file just for them using the method outlined in here (which works for all facepack styles, not just the cut-out megapack).

Nope, just the one. Would yourself, or someone else, be able to make a config file available for download that works for the megapack with the 5.1 update?

It was mentioned earlier that it should be bigger than 8.18mb (not sure if that’s correct or not), but mine is that size and the person previously trying to help (Rowan) who suggested it should be 8.6mb put up a config for me to download. However, when I downloaded it, it was also 8.18mb.

Kenzie 8.18 mb is the size of the 5.1 config file.

I doubt it's an issue with the config as it looks like it's all fine to me.

Have you unticked use skin cache and ticked always reload skin on confirm from within the preferences?

mons - Kenzie said he'd already made sure he's done that correctly....

A screenshot to confirm would be nice though Kenzie?

The last viable option before we advise a game re-install would be Clearing the Cache, give that a go and come back to us.

Thanks all for trying to help.

I’ve tried unticking skin cache and ticked always reload skin on confirm (and all possible combinations, and reloading the game with all different combinations).

@ Rowan: you had suggested clearing the cache before, unfortunately it made no difference.

Thanks again. Due to coursework and exams over the next month I won’t be playing much FM (an uninstall, then reinstall might be a doubly wise move! ). I’ll try again around X-mas time and probably start the whole downloading process from scratch to hopefully resolve any problems.

So weird mate, as you know thousands of others are successfully using it, so I'm not sure what the issue is...

I presume you didn't have TWO Sports Interactive folders in My Documents (or even two My Documents)? Windows 7 does that sometimes....

Could you try downloading the full icon megapack as well and telling us if it works?

Are you (a) playing FMC or (b) using a different skin perchance? It should really work anyway tbh, but I'm scraping the barrel. Everything seems to be fine

As per some of the previous comments Ive downloaded the full megapack 5.1 and successfully downloaded all 5.3GB. When I then use 7-Zip to extract the files to sports interactive > FM2013 > graphics it all begins as you would expect. However, every time it stops extracting at 24% and will not go any further. I have followed all these thread comments and tried your suggested fixes to no avail. Ive replaced the config file with the larger one and even tried re-extracting the file and selecting do not replace any existing files, so technically it should fly through to 24% and pick up from there but still the thing locks up at 24%. I dont think its 7-Zip although its the first time Ive used it as winzip really couldnt handle such a large zip file. So in a nutshell my game has 24% of the pictures from the pack. Please help

Try using winrar to extract the pack.

Winrar cant cope with the size of the file and gives a corrupt file error message mentioned earlier in thread. This is an eroneous error message and is in fact that just winrar isnt good with large compressed files.

Any other suggestions?

Wait for the upcoming 5.02 pack, it might help solve the problem.

Winrar was used to create the file and has worked with extracting the images for many, many other users, so I doubt it's the problem here. What error message was displayed? If you press ok on the error message, many users have reported that the images are extracted nonetheless...

By mons | Permalink | On 04 December 2012 - 22:12 PM
For all those requesting Rapidshare links, please be informed that Rapidshare has, since a short while ago, restricted all uploads by individual users to a maximum of 1,000 total downloads a month and it seems like this has acceeded the limit for sortitoutsi. Rob is working to get alternate mirrors, but it's easier said than done...

Plus, megaupload was closed down aaaaaaaaaages ago...

Okay well if I try open the file in Winzip it says 'the central directory cannot be found' and suggests downloading the file again not a viable option when using Sky broadband as thats a days work and I dont want to keep downloading the file. If I right click the file and select extract it starts to extract the file but gives errors during extraction of '! C:\Users\Default.Default-PC\AppData\Local\Temp\sortitoutsi_megapack_5.01.zip: The archive is corrupt' if you click on the red x button it continues but after two of these errors Winzip closes and nothing happens. Out of interest at this point it is saying extraction is 0% complete although it runs through files for couple of mins.

Further help please, I only went premium on this for these downloads as the rapidshare ones are past their limits :-s

Hi,

I can't seem to upload the logos. I've completed the face packs with no problem, but downloading the "small logos" and "left/right logos", as well as the standard "normal logos" has caused a problem.

I used fmxml 1.2.0 to make a config. following the simple instructions, i.e. clicking "normal/large logos" & "club/team" on fmxml 1.2.0 and making a config for the "normal" folders in "alts" and the "normal" folder itself, both within the "clubs" folder..to follow in the same example. I did the same process for the "comps" and "nations" folders. The fmxml 1.2.0 uses "small logos", "left bg logos", "right bg logos" for the logos, which are found in the downloaded file.

But when I went to reload the skin, the logos didn't appear. I've followed all the instructions, the cache box was un-ticked, the reload was ticked and the logo folder was next to my face pack folder, both within the graphics folder.

I'm on a Mac too, if this makes any difference.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance.

José Fernandes.

The capacity to assign cut-outs to regens was removed by SI for FM13

Rowan's made a petition on the official forums for them to be re-enabled, so we'll have to wait and see...
