I personally think he'll do the next one and that will be the end of his tenure.

Creed. Liked it but felt like just a remake of the first Rocky. Could go down that route I guess and just make Creed the new series

Watched the theory of everything last night. Good film about Stephen Hawking and his gradual decline healthwise. Eddie Redmayne portrays Hawking very tastefully.

I thought Craig was signed on for at least one more film?

There's reports in the morning papers saying he's signed up for a big US TV show and is quitting the role.

Seeing Spotlight tonight. Last of the Oscar nominees I've not seen yet.

I watched it yesterday. Good film, not anything amazing though.

So far none of the Best Picture nominees that I have seen have been better than Sicario.

Just back from seeing it now, I thought it was fantastic. Made for an enthralling watch even though most of it was people sitting around talking. A really fascinating story.

I love Sicario but I wouldn't have it for Best Picture.

I think my perspective on Spotlight may be somewhat influenced by the fact that I watched All the President's Men just a few months ago. The latter sets a standard for the investigative journalism genre that is pretty much impossible to live up to.

I thought Spotlight was a very good film, but I honestly preferred The Big Short.

The Revenant is probably going to win the Oscar for Best Film though.

Anyone been to see Grimsby yet?

I won't be, the bastards couldn't even be bothered to film it in the town, and SBC's accent is one of the worst put on accents ever, sounds nothing like a Grimsby accent.

Watched the last Hunger Games film because I'd watched the previous ones so bleh, thought I might as well. It was awful. They were bad to begin with and got progressively worse, much like the books. The Battle Royal films were much better, largely because they didn't try to cut it all down to make it a 12 and sell it to everyone.

Anyone going to see the Batman v Superman film? Or already seen it - is it as bad as the reviews it is getting? Suppose that's what you get for casting Ben Affleck as a superhero - did people not learn their lesson from Daredevil!

Affleck has actually gotten a lot of praise. And while I think he's a terrible actor, he's looked alright from the trailers and that.

If anyone is to blame for Batman v Superman, it's Zach Snyder. An absolutely talentless director. Man of Steel was utter garbage, so how anyone can be surprised that this is shite, is beyond me.

Saw 10 Cloverfield Lane last night. Very interesting and somewhat claustrophobic film. Few plot strands that went nowhere, but the 3 performances at the heart of the film kept me interesting.

Dunno about seeing BvS. The reputation of Zack Snyder as a director/hack is not assuring, and I thought Henry Cavill's Superman looked a dour bore in the trailers for Man of Steel. Might just wait for Captain America: Civil War for the superhero kicks. Or go re-see Deadpool.
The Revenant is probably going to win the Oscar for Best Film though.

Well... shows what I know, clearly.

I guess expecting a film to have actual characters, not cardboard caricatures makes me an idiot.

Never been a fan of the Star Wars films, but watched the latest one last night because I could. They really tried to play up the nostalgia, to the detriment of the movie I think, but as a non-fan it was okay.

Batman v Superman.

Affleck was meh, definitely wasn't bad overall but he didn't offer much.

The Luthor dude must've been trying to play that eccentric villain character a la Ledger's Joker but he just came across as extremely annoying - what was his motivation for everything he did anyway?.

Oh and Amy Adams was pretty hot for some reason.

Saw the latest hunger games last night, wasn't too bad, bit of a predictable ending, however I thought the main part of the film was rather good!

If she can make the trashy 70's vibe of American Hustle look hot, then this shouldn't be as hard.

I'm not sure about whether I can be arsed with it tbh, even if I liked the Nolan Batmans. I wasn't impressed by the first trailer for BvS and also find the character of Superman to be annoying in the first place, but the uninspiring reviews from critics, friends and social media has me thinking it might be just something to skip.

Batmans vs Superman last night, wasn't what I expected.

The first hour I genuinely nearly fell asleep as I was that bored, Had to keep fidgeting in my seat to keep myself awake. However once that first hour of boringness passed the film got better and the second hour and a half was much more entertaining.

Batman v Superman

Essentially some good performances thrown in a blender with a convoluted plot, an annoying villain, way too many CGI explosions, and an eardrum-bursting bombastic score. Not as bad as some critics are saying, but not great.

Saw the two main X-Men trilogies in the last week. X-Men was good, X2 was excellent, The Last Stand was crap, First Class was very good, Days of Future Past was good, if flawed, and Apocalypse was entertaining but messy and made very little sense.
