Absolutely unbelievable that!

Liverpool must fancy their chances of winning it now, especially if Europa League kings Sevilla get knocked out.

If we win it, does that mean we go straight to Champions League groups, that 4th place loses CL spot and 3rd place goes to last qualifying stage of CL?

Think that's only if City win Champions League as well.

Edit: Don't think you'll go straight to groups though I wouldn't have thought.

Where the winners enter
• The UEFA Champions League winners will be entered in the UEFA Champions League group stage as normal.

• The UEFA Europa League winners will be entered in the UEFA Champions League (at a minimum level of the play-offs).

• The UEFA Europa League winners will be elevated into the group stage if the UEFA Champions League winners qualify directly for the UEFA Champions League group stage via their domestic league programme – something which has happened last season to the benefit of Sevilla, and indeed every year since the turn of the century bar 2005, 2007 and 2012.

4th place is not affected, meaning England may have 5 teams in CL. Basically, from what I understod, if we win EL, we go directly to CL group stages unless City wins CL and finishes 4th in the Premier League (then it's play-offs for us).

Could be all Spanish finals in both the CL and Europa League! Liverpool will fancy their chances but Villarreal are obviously a really good team; comfortably 4th in La Liga and knocked Napoli and Leverkusen out.

Liverpool, jammy c*nts as usual. Hopefully Sevilla win it or a third time, would be quite a feat. Not that I ultimately care either way, just if Liverpool win we'll never hear the bloody end of it.

I must say I do like the looks of this Liverpool side tonight, however would of started Skrtle over Lovren or Toure. Firmino, Coutinho and Sturridge all on the pitch, a game when we need goals we could have them!
