Seriously considering doing the Dale's walk next summer for charity, I want some sort of incentive to get myself into shape and if a seventy mile walk doesn't motivate me then nothing will, plus it could be a lot of fun if the wife, some friends and myself did it together.

Well I mean for me personally. There's little I'd rather do less than spend a week walking through the north west.

Spent 5 or so days in Grassington earlier in the year. Was really nice.

Team award went to Team GB despite the rules stating Team GB couldn't win it.


Rule says:

TEAM OF THE YEAR
For the team in an individual sport or sporting discipline that has achieved the most notable performance in the calendar year to date. The team should have significant UK interest or involvement.

For the avoidance of doubt this criteria excludes Team GB/Paralympics GB but includes the likes of British Cycling, Rowing Coxless Four and the European Ryder Cup team.

The expert panel responsible for choosing the shortlist for the main Sports Personality of the Year award will decide the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places for the Team of the Year award based on reaching a consensus view. If a consensus view cannot be reached on the top three, then the Panel will be asked to vote. In the event of a tied vote, the Chairperson's decision will be binding.

The winner will be announced during the Sports Personality of the Year show, with details on the BBC website.


Fully confused

Apparently, in the small text, they were allowed to ignore those rules if the judges unanimously agreed on it. Still a cop-out to give it to Team GB, though.

Just got tickets to The Courteeners in March. Should be good .

Nice one, very good band. Got two cousins who are obsessed with them, seen them 30+ times. I've seen them twice, they actually came to Blackburn in 2010 not long after Falcon was released, and then at the MEN just before Christmas, same year.
