Would have been better off without that. Hope he won't take Zouma's place when he is back, and I really hope he got better since leaving us

I posted about how ridiculous it was that Wilshere got into the England squad for Euro 2016 on Facebook earlier this year and got about 30 comments saying Wilshere was better than Drinkwater over the season, now he's at Bournemouth.

I still maintain he never should've got a place at Euro 16.

He's still England best centre mid. You take your best players to tournaments.

I've heard a lot about Sissoko, and none of it is good.

David Luiz going back to Chelsea is an odd one.

Nowhere near as odd as Hart to Toro, Balotelli to Nice or Wilshere to Bournemouth though - who'd have seen those coming?

I was getting ready to laugh at whoever was stupid enough to buy Sissoko, didn't think we'd actually do it. I don't even know what to make of it, so underwhelming.

Am thrilled to have David Luiz back at Chelsea. Didn't want him sold to begin with, but that sort of money made it understandable. He's the sort of ball-playing CB that will allow Conte to be more expansive, while he brings passion, enthusiasm and character on the pitch. Something we've sorely missed the last few years. He's also that right age, that sits between Zouma and Terry and brings leadership. Always felt he'd be the best fit as our next captain to replace JT when the time comes.

Also happy with Marcos Alonso arriving, he's a solid player and been good for Viola.

Glad Sissoko has fucked off as he clearly had no interest in playing for Newcastle again, hope the £30m is all upfront and not in instalments. If Tottenham get the Sissoko of the last Premier League campaign (and not Euro 2016) then Spurs have been mugged. Shame we didn't have time to get another winger in but did finally complete the loan signing of Christian Atsu with a few to buy.

Tiote remains a Newcastle player though...for now.

I rarely agree with Carroll, but well... yeah.

I can't really rate Wilshere higher than Drinkwater, seeing as Drinkwater was pretty good last year, and Wilshere hasn't played a full game since 1898.

There was a rumored 22 clubs interested and if you believe Arsenal were ever going to let him join anyone that may be seen as a threat to us in the league then you're deluded.

Jack is the best signing of the window, we just can't afford to give him a run of games for him to be a crock again. We're stacked in midfield as it is. Not a better place to go to than Bournemouth either really, also could be an attempt for us to get Eddie Howe easily once Arsene leaves, seeing as apparently the board are keen on him. Jack was willing to go to Roma but poor relations between the clubs after trying to conduct business for Manolas ruled that one out.

I really hope this isn't the end of him at Arsenal as he only has 2 years left on his deal and is still a super talent. To put some perspective into it I'm nearly as gutted as if Mesut left.

Last time 'Jack' went on loan it was to a young progressive coach who played football the right way. A chilling glimpse into the future for Eddie Howe.7

Feel sorry for Sissoko, he's never cared about playing football for Newcastle, but neither did Debuchy, Remy, Cabaye, Wijnaldum or Ben Arfa and they got zero shit for it.

Haha, thought the exact same thing!

He wouldn't have been a guaranteed starter either, I'm guessing Arsenal wanted to make sure they were sending him somewhere where he'd definitely be starting (when fit).

Will be interesting to see how he does - if he's as good as some make out then he should stand out in that Bournemouth team. Hope he does well for England's sake.

Apparently a deal was agreed between Newcastle and Lorient for Tiote, and he wouldn't return their calls.

Seems to be a theme.

Its very hard to feel sorry for Sissoko. After years of acting like a whiny little bitch, he's got his reward and gets to make up shit that he actually regularly tried in black & white in his "Welcome to Spurs" interviews, while pretending he never said Arsenal were the club of his heart.

Maybe its naivety, but I swear if you wanted a move to a top team once upon a time, you had to play on a regular basis like one worthy of the top teams. Least Cabaye did a bit in 2013 before PSG turned up and JFK accepted a ludicrously low fee. Given HBA seemed genuinely annoyed not to be playing when Pardew made him his scapegoat, I'm not sure why that's mentioned, although I don't think Remy is that well liked among NUFC fans given how much of a bellend he acted both when joining QPR, and when he allegedly got out of games to preserve himself for a World Cup squad spot that never came.

It could well be a perception trick - spend long enough publicly selling yourself and boasting how poor little you isn't in the UCL, and sooner or later, people might think of you as a bit of a dick. It may not help the club was sold for 2-3 years as a stepping stone, but even so, not everyone has to behave as whiny and going all "Oh woe is me, why am I not an Arsenal player?", or at least to this utterly ludicrous extent.

I think you're reading a lot more into the interviews than Sissoko said. Yeah he shouldn't repeatedly give interviews in France talking about his ambitions, but they weren't particularly revealing - they were generally I want to play for a bigger team some day, hopefully Arsenal , I also really want to play for France at Euro 2016. I think there was always an agreement to stay until Euro 2016 and then he would leave afterwards - and I got the impression he genuinely has never agitated for a move. - Much prefer Sissoko to some badge kisser, constantly patronising the fans, about how much they love the club and clearly don't. He's hardly the first player to give interviews in there native country - iirc Laurent Robert used to give far more critical ones

If you believe that JFK was actually in charge of transfers and that Pardew willfully decided to blame everything on his most talented player than you're extremely naive. Ben Arfa completely lost interest in playing Newcastle. Sort of hilarious that he is in all honestly the exact poison of modern football, yet is seen as the romantic alternative to modern football. Remy did become unpopular, but he wasn't at the time, and fans would have been delighted if he signed even after a summer of clearly not wanting to.

I get this point, fair enough, on his day Wilshere is a better player, hands down...

The problem i had was that Drinkwater played almost every Leicester game in a season they won the Premier League yet a player (Wilshere) who had played 3-4 times got in the England team ahead of him. You should always be picked for your country on form, not because of the club you play for or how big of a name you are.
