Is there also a possibility to upload individual done images? Or only in a pack?

Working on that, i've made alot of changes already in one day!

Updated todo list

  1. [DONE] Allow mixpacks as well as teampacks
  2. [DONE] Cut down the number of emails
  3. Make emails optional
  4. [DONE] Stop individual cuts going into the release thread
  5. [DONE] Let people paste a link to an image instead
  6. [DONE] Prevent images less than 180x180 being uploaded
  7. [DONE] Let people "unassign" themselves from making a cut, so it goes back to waiting
  8. [DONE] Update the filter to save previous search
  9. [DONE] Update the filter to include more options such as ordering by newest or oldest
  10. Let people upload a completed request without first creating one
  11. [DONE] Make it obvious when a request has a comment / a different view showing recent comments
  12. Notifier requester and cutter when there is a comment
  13. Moderator feedback when rejecting a request

I think you may bypass it by creating a "request", in requests base material upload your cut-out and after that submit your cut-out again as a finished material. Or just wait, because I believe we may get this feature soon

I only want to note that the preview of the material doesn't show up when you hover the mouse over the request, this was a really nice feature but now it doesn't work

Especially now when you've made a bunch of those requests with sources 150x150...

They are practically cut already, I just thought I would offer the opportunity for a quick tidy up by proper cutters instead of resizing them myself. The one missing MP one I requested has already been "completed" so I don't understand the big deal about this. They are small but surely the fact they are actually cut out already can allow an exception.

I "flooded" the request board for this reason alone, I haven't done it before and won't again.

Mate sometimes those images can be used,we had many of them on old forum, but mostly as missing 'cuz those was the best available sources.Problem is that almost all of those from this user could be found from much bigger and better resolution. There should be an option for mods to change source image of request so we could add those better sources as we could on old forum.

These ones are already complete and thus do not have to wait to be completed. The ones I checked did NOT have a newer or larger resoluition.

I will now resize them myself to 180x180 like I should have done in the first place.

All of them have now been "completed" by myself. Apart from the one which was a normal improvement request (Romas Dressler)

Some feedback from myself:
  • This probably isn't relevant for myself as I primarily request images for the MP but wouldn't it be good if the page displays the uploaded completed image alongside the request image and current MP image so that mods can compare if the cuts is good enough without downloading the uploaded one?
  • The email notification for every stage of change of your request is annoying but I do understand you are looking into this.
  • The wording of these notifications is confusing. "your request has been completed" as an example. This means you have got your request on the site successfully but it reads to me like the request has been completed as in CUT. It says this when you have uploaded it and when its been cut by someone. see example below:

Is it better to reject a request and add a new request or to edit a request? It could get confusing editing a request, the fact that the original request was bad is lost and it just looks like the requester made a good request.

Or maybe a better option is, within a moderator panel, you can upload a better image and it automatically rejects the old one and creates a new request with the better image but the old details (fm_id, name etc). That way it's clear that the original request was bad/rejected and there's a new request, but it's just as easy as editing the old request as you've asked for.

I think that just edit as it was before will be enough and more simple.Everything else seems too complicated.I was changing sources on old forum for more than a half requests, sometimes people can't find better source and sometimes they are just lazy.So just edit button for changing images will be enough + maybe just some kind of notification for requester that his original request was bad and that image is changed don't sounds bad.

Maybe I didn't understand this part "Or maybe a better option is, within a moderator panel, you can upload a better image and it automatically rejects the old one and creates a new request with the better image but the old details (fm_id, name etc).".On that way we would have bunch of rejected and good requests for same people on the same page.Filtering of requests is not that much interesting at every visit

Also,I don't know why but teampack requests preview doesn't work...

They are practically ready already and the ones I checked did NOT have a newer or larger resoluition.

I will now resize them myself to 180x180 like I should have done in the first place.

Mate they were images in 150x150 resolution with white background,no matter what we have to cut them. Now you removed that white background but they are far from good images for MP.Just check those cuts on dark background.

Thanks to Rob for responding to my feedback, for making the new system easier and for doing whatever is possible to improve the whole process.

Mons can testify that I'm not capable of cutting, so I hope all those that do will continue their great work. Thanks guys.

That is to do with me doing the cutting and not the size though.

They aren't that good but at least I've solved the problem of all those requests. I will reupload them as an improvment mixpack.

The one which is missing HAS been cut properly, so that is the most important thing.

Seriously? The existing images are pretty good but you can clearly see a difference in age in alot of the players. One of them even is not even the normal head straight at the camera and 2 shoulders on each side pose.

improvement

existing

For me that is a clear improvement when weighing up the age of the player between images and the hairstyle too. I don't normally care for this neither I should add. I think 90% of cuts should be missing ones or to replace images far worse that what i am suggesting.

for some reason this one didn't all bad on a black background like the others. maybe because I centered it a bit when attempting to make the background transparent and resized it.

At first this is not the place for this kind of conversion. Also, yes maybe they need newer images, but those sources are awfull and there are much better sources for all of them.

It is isn't the place. I'm tired of this anyway, much better things to worry about. They are uploaded, if they aren't done so be it.

Guys, let's stopped the petty squabbling. This is not the place for it.

People are free to upload requests and cuts, and we are free to then choose them or not depending on their quality. At 2,000+ images in each update pack, heaven forbid we have to justify each individual image choice, we'd never get anywhere.

Just for everybody's information, there's a range of reasons as to how I determine if a cut is good enough to be added to the megapack as an improvement. Size, quality of cut, clarity of details, lack of snow, recentness etc. I don't take the name of the cutter into consideration at all, in fact I just chuck all the images into one folder and compare them one by one, cleaning/centering them along the way when necessary. Although these days I can generally guess who cut each image; you'd be surprised

In this particular case, the images are much more recent and not from bad sources, but the cuts are somewhat jagged, I'm afraid. I try to fix what I could, but it's not always possible...

So far I'm ok with this new system and I'm sure it will be tweaked over time,if needed.Good job Rob !
I have 2 suggestions for now:

@Rob
1. Is it possible to let users know if they already downloaded image before (just like with Megapack updates :"You last downloaded on - " ).It would be good to know the last 'harvest' time so to avoid downloading duplicates.
2. Preview frame (box) with black (or both black and white) background so cut imperfections could be seen straight away?

Am I wrong or we still don't have a thread or option where and how we could post done images wich are not requests? Making a new request and then giving an answer to yourself is not a solution...

So basically for me who usually uploads my self made cuts in missing/improvement sections, I need to post it in this new section right?

(I think I figured it out, nice new system)

Rob is working on it and it should be live shortly. We're looking at a button similar to the new requests one where cutters can upload cuts as completed instead of requesting them. For the time being, the current system will have to do.

For the time being, yes. As per the above, Rob will shortly make a new button for cutters wherein they can directly post individual completed cuts. Having seen your requests/cuts, please continue with this method until the new system is online, which should be quite soon...

Woops, i'll put that back in!

can't upload even the images used by Uefa in their site,
those aren't gigantic, but good resources?

Can you explain in more detail, why can't you, what's the problem?

Can't fix anything without more information

This probably isn't relevant for myself as I primarily request images for the MP but wouldn't it be good if the page displays the uploaded completed image alongside the request image and current MP image so that mods can compare if the cuts is good enough without downloading the uploaded one?

That would probably be better than the current preview button, i'll look to change it up.

  • The wording of these notifications is confusing. "your request has been completed" as an example. This means you have got your request on the site successfully but it reads to me like the request has been completed as in CUT. It says this when you have uploaded it and when its been cut by someone. see example below:

  • hmm I don't think that's right, if something seems stupid it's probably an error rather than intentional i'll look into it some more.

Is it possible to let users know if they already downloaded image before (just like with Megapack updates :"You last downloaded on - " ).It would be good to know the last 'harvest' time so to avoid downloading duplicates.

Yeah i'll look to add something like that

Preview frame (box) with black (or both black and white) background so cut imperfections could be seen straight away?

I can look to try and add that

I've fixed the bug with notifications and emails going out every time you create a request (and with incorrect/confusing wording).

Emails are still not optional, but i'll look to add that.

I can answer this as I'd asked him yesterday. Due to the way the site is built (I'm not very technical, I can't get into more depth, sorry), this is sadly not possible.

Rob,is there a way to have edit option for teampack requests. For example some requests could be way too long on list,so after some while we could get few cuts from those packs. It would be a lot easier to just change the pack with new one with less images by edit, rather than posting\re-posting again...
