It's a known issue with FM26 - read this. We're assuming this issue will get resolved in upcoming official patches/updates.
The new players were added before FM26 was released and didn't have the right UID yet. We've started the process of mapping them to the correct person's UID.
When you have a blank space instead of a cut-out, it means there is a config file pointing to a folder in which an image with that UID is not present. This generally happens when an update pack is installed in a separate folder and not part of the overall faces folder, or there is a rogue config file somewhere. It could also be that you have somehow not downloaded the full megapack but only part of it. Search within the graphics folder for the UID of this person, and you will probably find the secondary image. Delete that folder, and it should be fine.

In line with guidance on the official SI forums, At present, FM26 cannot handle multiple files with the same name. For example, if you have two files with the name "kit.png", it will not load both. and Player Faces: These work fine. You do not need the icon files anymore, and they can cause issues with the note above. Delete them.
As a result, the iconfaces are no longer available for download because they're not needed. You should also delete the iconfaces folder manually from your system too 👍

You need to change your user data location. Simple steps on how to do so can be found here.

The torrent file includes the base megapack uploaded just before that year’s FM version is released. Any and all subsequent update packs are to be downloaded separately.

Please report this so that they can be reuploaded. Since the files are hosted outside our pages, there isn't much we can do about this unfortunately. You could try downloading the pack via torrent and get it this way.
Extracting the file will take a while, but it shouldn't take the hours and hours that the program extracting will sometimes say it will. To speed it up, it is recommended that you have as few programs running as possible so that the system can dedicate as many resources to the extraction as it possibly can.
Secondly, for files as large as this, the calculation of the extraction time will be wildly incorrect at the start. After a while, it'll show a more realistic timeframe, which shouldn't be more than an hour or two if you have a good setup and few programs running at the same time.

You might have a poor internet connection or your browser might have some extensions which interrupt this download. Having loads of downloads ongoing and/or streaming may also de-prioritise this download.
Try using Google Chrome in incognito mode (or the equivalent mode for other browsers) and you should be able to resume the download from the point it was interrupted, if that happens.

Down the years, after an update pack was released, it was noted that some images included therein where of the wrong person, with a wrong extension or duplicated. Due to the way the download system is structured, these cannot be removed from the download, so there may well be a couple of hundred images’ worth of difference, depending on the version you download.
Our megapack covers 25,000 teams and it's impossible to cater for these kind of requests since players and staff get transferred or sacked or retire etc and recreating and reuploading 25,000 different smaller packs would be an impossible task. That's why we have all the images in a megapack so that everything is captured therein.
These persons do not appear in the default database for licensing reasons. This means that they only appear in your save-game because they were added via a custom file, generally the real name fix file. However, this means that their UID (which is what is used to map a person's image to the right individual) is different, and so the game cannot assign the image to them from your existing facepack.
To get them to show, you should individually download any previously available cut-out faces from here (or use the UID to find them in your existing facepack if you don't use the cut-out megapack), put them in a separate folder to your existing facepack and create a config file just for them using the method outlined in here (which works for all facepack styles, not just the cut-out megapack).

It's a licensing issue. Download this file (or the equivalent for your version of FM) to resolve it.

The file was created using winrar and so I always suggest using it to extract the images. I've never had that issue, I'm afraid.
Are you sure it's 166,873 and not 176,873? Not all English players are in the megapack, you know

Yep. If you do it right, you should get a prompt to overwrite x amount of files; say yes. If you don't get it, then you've probably installed it wrongly.

I've got 174,189 inc Icon Pics. No thats fair enough, just they'r some the players people rave about managing lower div clubs thats all.

I am downloaded the 9.02 megapack and the folder has the pictures in it. I put it in the correct location ie. SI - FM17 - graphics.
I load up the game and do the whole process of preferences - clear cache - reload - and so on. (Tried multiple different sequences)
However still no player faces are being showed and I have no idea why. No config file was downloaded so I tried creating one as it was demonstrated in the 1st page of this thread but still no luck.
Any suggestions?

Which download method did you use to download the megapack? How large was the ensuing file and how many images were contained therein?
Can I have a screenshot of the location where the images are located? Please make sure the address bar/path are clearly visible.
You really should have a config file included in the download, whichever version or method of the pack you used. It's a bit strange that yours' didn't.

Hi Mons, thanks for replying.
I torrented the megapack. I did this on my family PC then transferable the files onto my macbook via a external hardrive. You dont think something got mixed up here? Though I did this exact same thing with the megapack 4 a couple of years ago and that ended up working on my macbook.
Not too sure what to do with the config file I created, using the app I downloaded I places the whole sortitoutsi folder into the app to have a config file created. But maybe I was only meant to place the just faces folder into the app?

I took the config file out of the megaback 4 folder I used to use and copied it into the folder of the new megapack and it worked! However I only have some of the faces. The megapack 9 which I recently downloaded only has 65,000 off photos in it so I must be missing some?
I now remember as I was transferring the files onto the my external harddrive I got notifications that some files weren't transferring across properly (I cant remember the exact text it gave me sorry). The file I downloaded is 8.26 GB so I am guessing that is the complete file so I think the problem lies in that not all the files got transferred across with a mixture of no config file being downloaded or transferred.
I might now go try transfer the files again and see what the exact problem is and get back to you.

I think the section in bold is basically it. From the screenshot you uploaded, it's clear there's a number of missing images. For example UID 6 has an image in the megapack, as does 8 etc. Plus, if you have 65,000 images, then you're missing over 100,000 images since the megapack head count is over 178,000.
When you transferred the files over from your family PC to your external HD, do you mean you transferred the extracted megapack folder or the rar file that you torrented?

I'm afraid that due to the nature of the facepacks, it's not possible to have league-specific packs since each image would have to be manually selected and saved by us, and subsequently updated with transfers, loans, retirements, staff movements etc etc, which is frankly impossible to keep up with.
Downloading the whole megapack does not slow down your game and it is really easy to keep up-to-date with all the new and improved images by downloading the monthly update packs

I don't believe there is a one-click download available for Sao Paulo. However, this page contains all the cutouts of the squad currently in the database. You can save them manually and then generate a config file by using the method outlined here.
FM08 had a limit of 50,000 images per config. Anything above that limit would not be read by the game. The way around this is to manually split the megapack into packs of less than that amount and generate a config file for each folder by using the method outlined here.

I have no idea which version of the megapack you have, so I suggest that you create one yourself using fmXML which will do it automatically for you pretty much instantly. There's an instruction video here) to show you how to do it, but it's really very easy

There's different versions of Winrar for different operating systems. If you scroll down that page, there is a link to download the Mac version of Winrar.
I've not installed it on a Mac before, but I don't imagine it to be any more difficult than clicking OK a couple of times. If you can't figure out how to install Winrar, then I'm not sure I can recommend that you to attempt to install this pack, even though the setup steps are relatively straight-forward...
