Aye he did and that was an achievement and a half but at Ipswich he seemed completely out of his depth. But I dunno - maybe the fact he was a Forest man before he joined MUFC could work in his favour.

I want Sean O'Driscoll or Di Matteo (the latter would never happen). Even as Director of Football. ANYTHING.
BR.
Very true.
Not a clue. The journalist who's the Rovers reporter for the Lancashire Telegraph tweeted this:
Andrew Cryer@CryerRovers
Like I said I have been told coach lined up, manager not.
Which indicates that Shebby f*cking Singh just wants a coach he can work with and have as much influence as possible. C*nt. Ideally, fans would want Hughes or at least a manager with experience, but that isn't going to happen.
In terms of managers, Venky's track record is sacking Big Sam, hiring Kean, not sacking Kean (he resigned, a lot seem to think he was sacked) and then hiring Berg when experience was desperately needed (Mick McCarthy and Ian Holloway were both available at the time).
I'm worried what they'll do next.

It's the kind of dumb move I would expect. If they'd just sacked him when they got relegated, which is what I expected at that time, they might not be in such a mess.

They haven't realised their mistake though. Berg wasn't the mistake, he wasn't a great manager, but he came in after the transfer window had closed into a team full of mercenaries who were already on poor form. They presented him with a shambles and told him to fix it. With what? The backroom staff were the same and there was already a certain man with his fingers in too many pies. So what then different tactics? You're not going to motivate players to give a shit by encouraging them to play a more conservative game. He was fucked from the moment he joined and they only thing Venkys have succeeded in doing is make Blackburn look like even more of a joke.
If Hughes goes there he's an idiot.

Bollocks.

O'Driscoll's sacking was odd but at least Forest have acted quickly. It took our scumbags 5 weeks to appoint Berg - and only 8 weeks to sack him. We're actually playing Forest on New Year's Day which will be interesting.
We've also got a game on Saturday against Barnsley (which is looking like a relegation six-pointer at this rate.....), but god knows who'll take charge of that 'cos all the backroom team got fired too. At the moment we're just a squad of players with Singh lurking in the shadows, and then the reserve/youth coaches etc. God knows who took training today.

I fear you've answered a lot of your own questions.

To be serious, I think Rovers HAVE to go for a weird foreigner as manager again. Who in Great Britain would honestly want to manage a team which is rotten to the core and with a bad reputation in the country given various media reports? Obviously Venky's wouldn't appoint a manager who would give them mouth and would not just be a typical yes-man.
Worrying times to be a Rovers fan.

3rd, which is still 14 places higher than where they have wound up.
It makes no sense they didn't sack him in the summer despite the farcical way the club went down, and then forced him out just as he seemed to be approaching something resembling coherence.

Anyway, if this happens then I'd definitely consider not going until the lot of them f*ck off - and I can't remember the last home game I missed:
Look at the f*cking state.

If that happens then there's hope for my managerial career yet. Might even apply myself. Get Rochina between the lines, don't bother with wingers (attacking full-backs ftw), get supply-line to Jordan Rhodes*. Sorted.
But in all seriousness, that's insane. I'm all for giving young coaches a start in the game, but that's just ridiculous. May as well appoint Danny Murphy player-manager and make Mr Blobby and Roland Rat his assistants. And wasn't Kevin McDonald part of the Allardyce setup?
* - provided I don't sell him back to Town, that is.
Phoenix Arrow
I'm sorry, but that is fucking hilarious.

I hope the story about this Ali guy is a fucking joke rather than a serious option. Sorry about being a bit patronising BR, but these Blackburn stories always crack me up

His spells at Motherwell and Hibs look decent. Won a few titles with Rangers. Pretty decent spell with Scotland. His Aston Villa side was absolutely awful but he didn't do any worse than Houllier, McCallister or Lambert. His spell at Birmingham was obviously very mixed with two relegations, a promotion and an excellent top flight season, (finishing higher than Swansea and Norwich did last year, with more points). But in his defence I don't think he had much money at Villa or Birmingham.
Still definately wouldn't want him at Newcastle though.
Telegram Sam
I'd agree that he's had some success in previous jobs but considering his spells at his previous two clubs, which were both deemed to be failures, I find it surprising that a club with pretty lofty ambitions have gone in for him. He might have more success in the Championship but I think given his performance with Birmingham and Aston Villa, as well as his unimaginative and dour playing style, Forest fans have every right to be a tad pissed.

He was awful all game. Helan got two of ours booked after he should have walked, nearly scored a last-minute winner, and injured Jack Hunt. It affected the outcome. Awful.

Yeah I reckon Forest would have better off going for a younger manager rather than one of the old guard. Someone like Freedman or Chris Powell. That said McLeish did get Birmingham promoted and Steve Bruce is doing very well with Hull. I had a feeling they were going to go for Clough.
