It's a shame that the English press will never rate Xhaka or Özil, they're brainwashing people in to never actually watch them play football

I've always rated Xhaka, despite having a temperament he's a proper work horse. Özil is very hit and miss.

No doubt that Ozil is a quality player.

Xhaka on the other hand, he's not done anything yet really, he's still young... Maybe in 2-3 years we'll talk about him being quality!

Xhaka is already a very good footballer. Has everything you want in a deep lying playmaker, a shame that he's now quite scared to put a foot in because of ref's booking him on reputation earlier in the season rather than what they actually see.

Him and Ox have been our best players for a couple of months now

Ox I'd take off you in the morning.. Hugely underrated!!

I don't think Xhaka is anything great tbh currently, he may eventually be, but I think he floats in and out of games for you lot.

He's literally at the centre of everything good we do, without him (and Santi) we'd struggle to string two passes together. Consistently the player with the most touches, most passes and largest holder of possession in every game he plays in. Would love to see how a new manager could get the best out of him, Naby Keita is the dream player to be alongside him

Some NUFC fans flew a banner with "United By Cancer, Divided By Leagues" over the Sunderland game... I mean, its one thing that banter can embrace coarse humour or bad taste, but this feels like its way too far.

Hull could be down tomorrow at this stage. Even a draw at Palace won't be good enough.

If it's the same Palace that turned up at City, then Hull have every chance of getting the win. Out of Hull, Palace and Swansea, I'd like Palace to go down! Doesn't seem likely, though

Banner flown over at Stoke..."Wenger out means out" or similar.

Even if he wins the FA Cup and finishes in the top 4?

That's exactly what they aren't satisfied with though, settling for top 4 finishes. If a strong end to this season and scraping 4th meant Wenger stayed then it'd only be exactly the same next year (CL last 16, fighting for 4th).

Stoke are dire. Hughes is undoubtedly a good manager but it's gone very stale there, best for both parties if he moves on.

What if they beat Chelsea to win the FA Cup though? Champions League football and a trophy is not something a manager should get sacked for, though I suppose it did not help Van Gaal! Arsenal fans just seem to be going through a collective mid-life crisis. They've partnered with the same person for a lot of years now and want to see if the grass is greener. All I'd say is careful what you wish for.

Stoke were a team that changed managers for the sake of changing managers, it hardly improved them.

Silva would probably have kept Hull up had he been there for the whole season, but that summer of nothing, their poor first half to the season and consistently shit away form means nowhere else to go I guess.

2 of the bottom 3 I'm not really surprised by. But I'm more surprised by Middlesbrough's meek drop - you'd think given this was their first PL season in 7 years that they'd look to put on more of a show than try for 38 goalless draws.

Wasn't Phelan or Bruce's fault for it, the owners didn't give them money to spend during the summer especially when they only had around nine available first team players, hence why Steve Bruce left. It was miraculous that they managed to stay up this far. Think the blame needs to go on the owners for it. Marco Silva did a sterling job for them.

Yeah - Phelan didn't do that badly given what he had to work with in terms of the boardroom inertia up there, but that situation and the lateness of Bruce's forced departure meant Hull were always facing a slog of a season. And yeah, Silva did a great job to haul Hull into survival contention. But equally so, home and away defeats to Moyes' horrifically meek Sunderland betrayed something not PL worthy I guess.

Surely someone in the midtable/lower region may well give Silva a gig? I saw Southampton rumoured as they've alleged to be removing Puel, but I reckon he might do alright at a West Ham or someone like that.

Fantastic way to leave the stadium, beating Mourinho and United.

17 wins, 2 draws and 0 defeats. Typical that we turn it into a fortress just as we start knocking it down.

Great piece from Garth Crooks in his 'team of the week', blokes an absolute moron. Actually makes Tottenham out to sound like a mid table team.

A lot has been said about Mesut Ozil. Love him or hate him - and I love him - there is no denying he is a wonderful footballer. Is he in the right team? Probably not. A player with his talent would be more appreciated at a club like Tottenham. Now at this moment I may have Arsenal fans foaming at the mouth at the very thought of Ozil defecting to White Hart Lane but frankly it is a better fit.

When Sol Campbell decided to move to Arsenal from Spurs it was because the player was desperate to win trophies. A perfectly acceptable position for a professional footballer to take and a fact that Spurs fans have never been able to come to terms with. However, Ozil's style of football is perfect for Spurs and he has already won things with Arsenal. His overall performance against Stoke, which is always a hard nut to crack, was superb while his goal was sublime.

Only at Spurs will the fans accommodate players like Ozil. You see, at Spurs it is all about the football while at Arsenal it is all about the winning.

Özil's workrate in the Spurs team. Lol. Pochettino would rip his head off.

It reminds me a bit of the Pedro situation in Chelsea (except Özil is a much better footballer when on form). I said last year that Pedro is a great player to have in the team, when things are going your way.
Özil is a wonderful footballer, and if the team is doing well, he'll only add plenty to that.

Özil needs a manager who'll push him rather than pampering and he'll thrive, hence the Garth Crooks comments. But yeah the bloke is a moron.

Thought the myth of Özil being lazy died a death anyway

The way he talked about Spurs and Arsenal at the end made it sound like he is still living in 2004.

What? That bloke couldn't get much more love from the gooners if he tried, all I ever hear about is how amazing some pass or assist he did was. Also Eriksen is a perfect fit for our style of play and Ozil is obviously better off at Arsenal, so i've got no idea what he is going on about in that last bit.
