It's a known issue with FM26 - read this. We're assuming this issue will get resolved in upcoming official patches/updates.
The new players were added before FM26 was released and didn't have the right UID yet. We've started the process of mapping them to the correct person's UID.
When you have a blank space instead of a cut-out, it means there is a config file pointing to a folder in which an image with that UID is not present. This generally happens when an update pack is installed in a separate folder and not part of the overall faces folder, or there is a rogue config file somewhere. It could also be that you have somehow not downloaded the full megapack but only part of it. Search within the graphics folder for the UID of this person, and you will probably find the secondary image. Delete that folder, and it should be fine.

In line with guidance on the official SI forums, At present, FM26 cannot handle multiple files with the same name. For example, if you have two files with the name "kit.png", it will not load both. and Player Faces: These work fine. You do not need the icon files anymore, and they can cause issues with the note above. Delete them.
As a result, the iconfaces are no longer available for download because they're not needed. You should also delete the iconfaces folder manually from your system too 👍

You need to change your user data location. Simple steps on how to do so can be found here.

The torrent file includes the base megapack uploaded just before that year’s FM version is released. Any and all subsequent update packs are to be downloaded separately.
For those who have never used torrents, in the vast majority of cases, it's just a question of downloading the client program (a small file, less than 1MB) and then downloading the megapack torrent file (a tiny file, around 20k) and then letting the program do the job.

Please report this so that they can be reuploaded. Since the files are hosted outside our pages, there isn't much we can do about this unfortunately. You could try downloading the pack via torrent and get it this way.
Extracting the file will take a while, but it shouldn't take the hours and hours that the program extracting will sometimes say it will. To speed it up, it is recommended that you have as few programs running as possible so that the system can dedicate as many resources to the extraction as it possibly can.

You might have a poor internet connection or your browser might have some extensions which interrupt this download. Having loads of downloads ongoing and/or streaming may also de-prioritise this download.
Try using Google Chrome in incognito mode (or the equivalent mode for other browsers) and you should be able to resume the download from the point it was interrupted, if that happens.

Down the years, after an update pack was released, it was noted that some images included therein where of the wrong person, with a wrong extension or duplicated. Due to the way the download system is structured, these cannot be removed from the download, so there may well be a couple of hundred images’ worth of difference, depending on the version you download.
Our megapack covers 25,000 teams and it's impossible to cater for these kind of requests since players and staff get transferred or sacked or retire etc and recreating and reuploading 25,000 different smaller packs would be an impossible task. That's why we have all the images in a megapack so that everything is captured therein.
These persons do not appear in the default database for licensing reasons. This means that they only appear in your save-game because they were added via a custom file, generally the real name fix file. However, this means that their UID (which is what is used to map a person's image to the right individual) is different, and so the game cannot assign the image to them from your existing facepack.
To get them to show, you should individually download any previously available cut-out faces from here (or use the UID to find them in your existing facepack if you don't use the cut-out megapack), put them in a separate folder to your existing facepack and create a config file just for them using the method outlined in here (which works for all facepack styles, not just the cut-out megapack).

It's a licensing issue. Download this file (or the equivalent for your version of FM) to resolve it.

I did not want to say that I found it unacceptable to charge people for access to your files. I just wanted to say that I did not find everything normal to pay for ultimately not having a service "much" more advantageous! I do not question your economic model and I do not regret having subscribed to the premium account.
For this example, I am not super convinced but it does not matter.
I expected to be able to quickly download the file which, in the end, will take almost 2 days to download. I download videos much bigger than this file in less than thirty minutes.
For example: forza motorsports 7, 95 giga in one afternoon with my internet debit.
I did not mean anything else.

Firstly thankyou for your help. So I uninstalled everything and tried again, and got to ~150,000 items before my computer ran out of space. Subsequently I bought an external hard drive online (hence the delay) and after successfully downloading the ~190,000 items I realised that I could not get the data on the external to be applied in-game.
I would like to request that You may be able to assist me and get this to work, or if not possible like I suspect, you will be able to issue me a refund, because the files took between 25 and 30 GBs of space, now this on top of the 9GB already downloaded and as advertised I don't think is unreasonable to be annoyed that even when having 4x the advertised space, it still is not enough.

I'm not sure why you say that you could not get the data on the external to be applied in-game. I and many others do that successfully. Have you changed your user data folder as outlined here and as also indicated in the OP?
I'm not sure how you've managed to get a 9GB to take between 25-30GB of space, and what that's got to do with whether and how this file works tbh

It really depends on your usual download speed as that's around 250kb/sec which is a bit slow, truth be told...

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. When I test my Internet speed online it says 15 mbit/sec but I suppose that varies a fair bit. Oh well, thanks!

Okay so I went to the link and changed my user data folder, following the steps to a T yet when I load FM all the sub folders are not created like it says in the post you linked. I hope this is because I have not done "and as also indicated in the OP?" because I don't know the acronym as 'original post(er)' doesn't fit. I hope this is the only problem left now, please explain

I'm not sure what you've done as it's not entirely clear, sorry.
What you need to do is
a) change your user data folder on Steam
b) manually move your whole "old" Documents / Sports Interactive / Football Manager 2018 folder (not just the graphics, all of it) into the folder specified in the above step, in your case presumably on your external hard disk.
If you still can't figure out what you've done wrong, please post screenshots of
a) your user data folder as amended on your Steam profile
b) the user data folder on the external HDD, clearly showing the patch
c) your megapack folder in this folder
I don't think you're too far off from having it working as intended, truth be told.

That's because you don't have the full megapack, somehow, I'm afraid. The whole megapack would be just over 9GB to be precise, and you have some images missing. The fact that there is an empty space instead of the default black silhouette also indicates this fact, because that happens when the config points to an image which is not there.

That's not a question I can really answer. Maybe the download stopped close to the end, or maybe the files did not fully extract. To solve the latter problem, I suggest using Winrar for Mac. Also,you need to have 192,000+ images in your faces folder to be fully up-to-date...

Out of curiosity, do you still have the compressed .rar file you downloaded from here? If you do, how large is it?

I do yeah, it is 9.68gb, so I think the problem is with The Unarchiver, which is what I used to extract it.

I agree with you and hopefully some skin-makers will tweak the cutout face size in any skins they release. Hopefully it won't take too long for good skins to start appearing.

That's bizarre. Clearly the Belgian researcher decide to overwrite the FM17 player with Bernardinho for some reason, instead of creating a new entry. If you could make a request with the new face, hopefully it'll get fixed by the next update pack

I've downloaded whole pack and done everything as usual (as described) but I cannot see any faces in my Arsenal team but for example I can see faces of new players I've bought in transfer windows (e.g. de Ligjt).
Any ideas? tnx in advance!
