I think, if we are going to buy more players we should focus on a CB. With Luiz showing just how much better he is as a DM, we only really have 3 CBs, one known for getting injured. That leaves us with 2 CBs. We are also known for getting red cards at the wrong times. So, a good, young CB wouldn't be bad.

Nathaniel Chalobah (on loan at Watford) is a good young centre-half and a great prospect. I'd like to see him in the first team squad for next season.

Also apparently Coloccini is off to San Lorenzo and won't be playing at the weekend.

Sensible bet would be us to get relegated if that goes through.

I know he wants to go back but how's that going to happen? San Lorenzo are absolutely broke.

Clearly waiting for Liverpool's millions. Oh wait, he's not English.

We already needed one new centre half (preferably two), and now with this needless hammer-blow, assuming it actually happens, we're gonna need two (preferably three) new centre halves.

Am I confident in that actually happening? Fuck no.

No, if he doesn't go there fair play, but if he does then its only for money! He can't take a pay cut at Inter, even though he'd still be earning like 7 million a year there, and said he'd do anything to go to the Premier League, except seems he wants 200k a week. Really do not understand why he would go to somewhere like Gala, rather than a good team/take a wage cut at Inter - he'd still be earning a lot.

Really surprised that United are put of by the wages, considering how much they were supposedly interested last time.

He literally holds our entire team together, but if he wants to leave what can we do?

We'd need 2 top quality centre backs in this window which I really can't see happening. As well as the documented striker problem - just can't see Ashley splashing that sort of money.

That being said I don't think Coloccini would ditch us half way through a season, especially when we're in trouble like we are now.

So before he even moves, at a stage where only the clubs have agreed a fee, you're calling him a greedy little bitch

Newcastle United captain Fabricio Coloccini has informed that club that wishes to leave in the January transfer window for personal reasons. While the 30-year-old has stopped short of handing in a formal transfer request, a crisis in his personal life has prompted him to tell manager Alan Pardew that he no longer feels he can stay on Tyneside.

Further talks are planned in the coming days with Newcastle resolved to attempt to do all they can to persuade the Argentina international change his mind.

But privately, club officials fear that Coloccini has already set his heart on returning home to Argentina. Coloccini is the best paid player at St James' Park on £60,000 per week and has become one of the club's most dependable and popular players in recent seasons.

Apparently he's impregnated some random woman, and his wife and kids have left and flew back to Argentina.

Reports in Germany that Dortmund are gonna announce Sahin returning tonight. Bit disappointed we're cutting his loan short, he obviously hasn't been as good as we'd have liked but he's hardly been used, and, when he has been it's been in a role he's not used to

If he'd been used properly (used at all) then he'd have been good, makes you wonder whether he really wanted to be there, and Rodgers recognised this and decided to cut the loan short when he could. Still gutted it hasn't worked out for him

Not really. Would you want to voluntarily take a pay-cut from a deal you'd already agreed on? I wouldn't.
