Scary, isn't it?

Should this be considered then?

Can you explain exactly what this would do? Is it a kind of system where you can have it built into our site? I'm not the most knowledgeable about these kind of things, I'm afraid

Thx Mons!!!

What do you think about it?

Not bad at all. Trying to cut that kind of hair would take 10 minutes easily if you tried it manually. It needs to be brightened a little bit and the canvas size changed to be in 250x250, but the below would certainly be good enough to be included in the megapack. What's the UID please?

The API would let us use it on this site rather than having to go to remover.bg to cut the source. Possibly some other stuff which would make it easier.

My try with remove.bg: from this pic to this cut in a few seconds

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/mLtIEf2Kt0lv7rdwuEeTCwqguZqnkwI6FKAtmyim.png

Very good, it only needs a few touches to be perfect for the MP.

Edit: I probably use this tool because my computer is a bit slow and this way faster than Fluid Mask.

so guys,

i've tried to use the remove.bg tool also.

this is one of my results.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/BMciiia69mYSS5OjRYGJavSQjkrWNWGgSDpGhDys.jpg

Because i can't save it as a jpeg or png file i've used a convertersite to do it,but i think it lost the transparancy during that.

I've tried to use PhotoShop watching tutorials, but always got stuck somewhere in the procedure... Now I can at least help out by making sure the background is clean.

Would these two attached photos be a good start of help?

I could cut the picture of Sam, but then it will be smaller then 250 px, wide.

Would these two attached photos be a good start of help?

I could cut the picture of Sam, but then it will be smaller then 250 px, wide.

Both are a good start. Neither seem large enough for 250x250, truth be told, but they should be fine for 180x180.

Before uploading them as completed cuts, could you post them in here so that I can give some feedback?

I've just sent this via PM to another user, maybe it'll help you and other budding cutters to use remove.bg quickly and effectively to produce cuts

a) Download the source image onto your PC. I'm using this as an example:
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/xmIV8K3zzSBWd3C3eMNVWCf1ewXds0h63wnxm0e5.jpg
b) Crop it to contain the face and a little bit either side of it: https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/vSZZQzmC4OTUlSq92G3CoZVpWBbLIIKk4WY9iP3E.jpg
c) Put it through remove.bg - this is the result: https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/FzUDBXSbr8I3XC5dVQM4UUAc6nNDXca7oarxf82d.png
d) Open the ensuing cut in Photoshop
e) Change the transparency preferences from the below section (it may not be exactly the same in CS2 but it will probably be somewhere similar): https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/R0G99GNrfMqlWkpwVMKOVv4mr7IFJvCp1p36lpSV.png
f) Change them in this manner (this will allow you to spot snow much quicker): https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/Vtve93LBFBNQEnQ74cdQwQ3gcAvema9b3ClFeIDv.png
h) Press "Z" on your keyboard to get the zoom tool, then select fit screen to get the cut as large as possible in order to allow you to get as close to the edges as possible https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/fGDi9VQdgcIcgcHlW3I8qFBkMVRkG1i0lX719WxB.png
g) To crop the cut, use the rectangular marquee tool by either clicking on this icon: https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/NrmHBCmySq3xIbs2uVyRtrDqsbncZvxu1cY6XAAs.png or by pressing "M" on your keyboard. Top tip: if you keep the shift button on your keyboard pressed when you are selecting the area, the area chosen will be a perfect square

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/WdDazANjn4EYm3rrFh5opwNCO8uYUHGH0tmZQeJv.png

As you can see, I only left a very small area beneath the chin and also above the head. However, the area from the ears to the edge of the cut is not exactly the same on both sides, so I like to make sure it is roughly identical on both sides. Pressing the arrows on your keyboard at this point moves the square accordingly, so in this case I moved it to the right. You can either do it by sight or by calculating the amounts of squares on either side:

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/C9L69IS5EO0Hy1ffTyr2JnWs5ns3unoQuE9Q1mGK.png

It doesn't have to be 100% exact, naturally
h) At this point, you're ready to crop the cut
i) After it's cropped, go to image > image size to downsize the cut to 250x250 or 180x180
j) In this case, I've deliberately made a mistake: https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/zGnneXQQqxf0bbSVghsctN52leIyrBRnunvZjrN8.png
k) To solve this issue, we should go to image > canvas size and change the width to be the same size as the height and for the canvas therefore to become a square: https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/SgeTDm1Ga1jFEQgtOHjomcgDqkCnHuk4ZTpFShPy.png
l) Once this is done, you can go to image > image size and change the size to 250x250 https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/ZVvV3TtcsXvPIc7Bdzkb3MhFeuAcY85w61Q9F718.png
m) Make sure that the scale styles and constrain proportions boxes are both ticked, as changing image width or height could mean that the image gets stretched and doesn't retain the correct proportions (as happened above).

That should be that

Hi @mons
Happy new year, guys !

I am very surprised by the result of this site
This will save us a lot of time.
Maybe even put us out of work!

A good cutter deals with the background, but also the colors, the orientation of the image, the framing, the neck ...
This site will not replace the skills of a cutter

But it's the moderators who will have a lot of work!
Because they will end up with a lot of bad requests validated

We will have to familiarize ourselves with its use

In any case, thank you for sharing.

I find that bad requests are most of the time rejected before they are cut and that most regular cutters are generally switched-on enough to avoid cutting sources which are not improvements. To be honest, I don't think it's been that big an issue so far; hopefully that'll remain the case

Hello guys! I've been trying to do some cutting. Do you think this is good?

Not bad at all No visible snow and a collar is included

A couple of tips:
a) The source is big enough for 250x250 so perhaps it could have been cut in that size.
b) There's a little too much space between the bottom of the chin and the bottom of the cut. 2-3 pixels is enough, more is a waste

That said, it's a very solid start

Lovely stuff

Go right ahead and upload it

Feel free to take on whichever sources take your fancy. If you have any difficulties, refer to the guidelines in the first post of this thread and if they don't help, ask in here for assistance. I hope you won't mind if we critique your work a little bit at the start, although if they're as good as that, I don't think there'll be too much to critique!

remove.bg really helps alot, and making it a lot more fun, atleast for me.
not quiet sure how to improve the shadows at the face. Apart from that i'm quiet pleased.

Hiya there, always nice to see a new cutter

As far as I can see, it's quite good. No snow either, which is always a good sign Keep at it remove.bg is wonderful and saves loads of time, but in general you would still need to tweak and clean the end product

If I recall correctly, however, this source was cut some days ago (possibly even by myself) and I think it was big enough to be cut in 250x250 instead of 180x180. When the source is small, 180x180 is fine, but it's better to have it as 250x250 if it's a larger source, especially since some skins now allow displaying the larger size cuts

What's so different about it? You can remove it in 15 seconds using the same procedure displayed in the video, as far as I can see. Will you get a perfect cut? No, because the cut already contains snow instead of gaps in the hair. But it'll be otherwise indistinguishable if you do it right...
