Randy Lerner has told Lambert his job is safe regardless of if they are relegated or not as he doesn't want any more managerial upheaval there, Which in itself is a good thing but he really does need to spend some money in the few days remaining of this window otherwise I really can't see them staying up. Bringing back Warnock, Hutton and Makoun would help remedy the problem with experience without spending any cash if they are re-callable?

I like an owner who is prepared to stick by the manager, especially when the problems at that club were caused by the previous boss. Constantly changing managers never solves anything, your just back to square one again, granted you may get that little honeymoon period where results improve for a couple of games. But you've only got to look at Chelsea to see it doesn't work in the long term.

Yeah and that's fine, I've no qualms with a manager being backed by his chairman within reason, but if he's come out and said Lambert can get the club relegated and still be in a job, well that's fucking moronic!!

Yeah but Lambert's proven he is a good manager, this season is just not going well and there's many factors at play, his management is not really the main reason, his hands are tied.

The situation with Bent is farcical for one. The amount of inexperienced young players they've got is another and there's more.

I'm not saying Lambert is a shit manager because from his time at Norwich it's obvious he isn't.

If what Rick said is true though it's madness, Villa can't afford to get relegated and Lerner shouldn't be telling Lambert his job is safe if indeed they do go down.

Horrific tackle yeah. Webb didn't book him for it so the FA should be able to punish Whelan after the game, pretty sure that's the rule.

Webb was viewing from the side and didn't give a free kick. But I think if he doesn't mention in his report that he saw nothing wrong with it then the FA can act
