Frequently Asked Questions
If you're not a premium member, it is recommended that you download the base megapack via torrent by going to our cut-out megapack download page. After which, you should then download all the update packs released to date and apply them chronologically.
If you're a premium member, just download the most recent complete pack.
If you already have a version of our Cut-Out Faces Megapack installed, then click "Download Latest Changes" and you'll be presented with a list of all the updates we've released since you've last downloaded a file. Simply download any you might have missed, applying the oldest first and continuing to apply update packs in the chronological order in which they were released.
Contrary to previous versions of the game, there is no need to change any settings in the preferences in FM26.
If done correctly, you should be asked if you want to overwrite files – accept. You should have one folder for faces and another folder for iconfaces, and no sub-folder whatsoever in them.
These steps are to be repeated for every update pack downloaded, and they are to be installed chronologically.
Watch this YouTube tutorial video, which should you guide you on the steps you need to follow to install it. It might be for FM24, but the steps are exactly the same.
Otherwise, follow the steps in this comment and post the results so that we can assist you.
As a result, the iconfaces are no longer available for download because they're not needed. You should also delete the iconfaces folder manually from your system too 👍
It is recommended that the user data location is not placed within the Steam installation folder as this may cause issues.
Torrent files need a torrent client to be downloaded. I personally use µTorrent but other common clients are BitTorrent, Vuze and Deluge. For those using torrents for the first time, here is a general walk-through on how to download torrents and a specific guide for µTorrent.
Be aware that it will take a substantial amount of time to download the file due to its sheer size and that other people depend on you hosting the file to get it so please leave your torrent client on after you have fully downloaded it. The etiquette is generally accepted to be to upload as much as you download, although this might not always be possible. The older the torrent file, the less likely it is that there will still be users seeding it.
Secondly, for files as large as this, the calculation of the extraction time will be wildly incorrect at the start. After a while, it'll show a more realistic timeframe, which shouldn't be more than an hour or two if you have a good setup and few programs running at the same time.
Try using Google Chrome in incognito mode (or the equivalent mode for other browsers) and you should be able to resume the download from the point it was interrupted, if that happens.
Alternatively, you can download fmXML and generate a config yourself. There's a video on YouTube on how to use it but it's really easy and the instructions are quite straight-forward.
To get them to show, you should individually download any previously available cut-out faces from here (or use the UID to find them in your existing facepack if you don't use the cut-out megapack), put them in a separate folder to your existing facepack and create a config file just for them using the method outlined in here (which works for all facepack styles, not just the cut-out megapack).

It looks fine
Do you have a config.xml file in the faces folder?
Bryn fryer
Yes mate, I've just searched through the folder and I have 4 and an example.ltf if that makes any difference
mons
You should only have 1 confg file. No idea where you got the example.ltf file either, or what it does frankly.
Can you upload the 4 config files here? By the way, how many images do you have in total in your faces folder?
Simon Tangen
mons
I can confirm that the file is not password protected; no idea where that came from
I assume you downloaded the whole file from this site, are you opening it with Winrar?

mons
I'm genuinely at a loss. Instead of extracting it to the correct location (i.e. Documents / Sports Interactive / Football Manager 2019 / graphics / ), can you try extracting it to somewhere else as a placeholder, then transferring the file over to the right place? I'm clutching at straws, really...
Simon Tangen
Well that was weird! When I tried to double tap the file inside winrar it asked for a password, but when I dragged the winrar file over to graphics and extracted it there it worked. Dont know why it didnt do that in the first place...
mons
All's well that ends well
Enjoy and do drop in from time to time to download the latest update packs and further enhance your game

I personally use the Rensie Custom Skin(s) which does that and more...

Thanks for the very detailed document. Almost everything appears to be in order.
One small thing, though, is D your default disk drive? If not, there is an additional step needed for the game to read the images from there. Secondly, how large is the config file please? It looks fine (and I imagine the image in the Word document you provided is cropped and edited for Messi's UID record to appear immediately below the record for UID 1), but I just want to be sure you have the latest one.
The only thing I can find in common between the 5 players you mention is that all of them are part of the images provided with the game by SI. That said, so is Messi, so I'm thinking there could be another config file somewhere, maybe from a different facepack or a previous version of this megapack, which could be causing some kind of conflict...
Chevalier
1. I thought that my D drive was my default. However, I will examine the additional steps that you outlined and return when that task is completed.
2. The config.xml file is 16.5MB. I have re-downloaded the megapack and confirmed that I have the latest version.
3. The image that I showed in the Word document is indeed cropped for the purpose of simplicity. Messis' image is actually musch lower down in the config.xml file
4. I will search to discover whether another config files exists and tkae appropriate action.
I will respond again when I have completed my tasks.

Also, you haven't downloaded any graphics from the Steam Workshop perchance?
Chevalier
I have now examined the Steam "Set Launch Options" and found that it was empty. I correctedit by enetering the location of the megapack on my D drive and reloaded FM 2019. Unfortunately this does not resolve the problem.
Do you have any other suggestions?
mons
If the user data folder is the default one, then this should indeed be empty.
Do you have a C drive?
What drive is Windows installed on? If it's on the D drive, then that is the default user data home drive.
Not sure if I'm managing to explain myself well
mons
I've just seen your edit with the image added. I'm afraid the text is not precisely what it should be; copy the below:
--user_data_location="D:\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2019"
i.e. without the < and >
Chevalier
1. a 145 byte file located in Football Manager 2019/games
2. a 16.5 MB file located in Football Manager 2019\graphics/faces - this is the file from the Megapack
3. a 15.6 MB file located in Football Manager 2019\graphics\iconfaces
Is thsi as it should be?
mons
That all looks in order
Have you changed the Steam launch options as per my previous comment?
Chevalier
Woops. I have now corrected that and loaded FM 2019 again........but still no faces.
Chevalier
Yes I have a C drive and it is where my Windows 10 Pro operating system is installed. I have examined the C drive for FM 2019 files and there are many - see attachment. I suspect this might be the problem - but which should I remove - perhaps all of them?
mons
You never said you were using OneDrive - maybe the issue is related to that.
If you open this folder, does it take you to the location where your graphics folder is located?
Chevalier
I am afraid that I was not aware that I was using OneDrive! Nevertheless, I did as you suggested and it does NOT take me to the graphics folder - see attachment.
mons
That screenshot confirms that though you have OneDrive backing up the files in your Documents, your user data files aren't there but on the D drive.
Now, go to the path in green (i.e. one folder back from graphics) and click on the address bar once, then copy the path EXACTLY as it is.
Then paste it in between the quotation marks ( " " ) of the Steam launch options to be sure that is exactly the correct path you're putting in there.
Then quit Steam, reload it and try reloading FM. Fingers crossed...
Chevalier
My crossed fingers did not help.....it did not work.
Since I did not know that I was using OnDrive (and don't actually want it!) then should I uninstall it and thus remove a potential cause of issue? I could then start again uninstalling FM 2019 clearing out all the unwanted locations and then reinstalling FM 2019 making sure that I use the guidance that you have kindly provided already?
mons
I'm going to send you a PM - I've got a quicker way
Chevalier
You have been teriffic Mons. I am very grateful for your assistance and await the PM.
Chevalier
Whilst waiting for your PM I decided to deal with the OneDrive issue - I don't want it!. I used the group policy editor to disable it completely. I then: -
1. Uninstalled Football Manager,
2. Removed all entries in the registry.
3. Removed all entries in the OneDrive folders on my C Drive
4. Restarted my PC
5. Used Steam to install Football Manager 2019 & set the correct launch options.
6. Ran Football Manger 2019 and flushed the cache
Wow - it worked correctly. This proves that OneDrive was screwing up the game.
Would you please now mark this as an issue which you have solved - all I did was implement your fault finding logic. Many thanks.
mons
I'm happy to see that the issue was solved
Enjoy your game then!
