Frequently Asked Questions

If you've never downloaded the pack before, you should just download the larger "complete pack".

If you're not a premium member, it is recommended that you download the base megapack via torrent by going to our cut-out megapack download page. After which, you should then download all the update packs released to date and apply them chronologically.

If you're a premium member, just download the most recent complete pack.

If you already have a version of our Cut-Out Faces Megapack installed, then click "Download Latest Changes" and you'll be presented with a list of all the updates we've released since you've last downloaded a file. Simply download any you might have missed, applying the oldest first and continuing to apply update packs in the chronological order in which they were released.
Watch this YouTube tutorial video, which should you guide you on the steps you need to follow to install it. You need to use Winrar (or a similar program) to extract the downloaded file.

Contrary to previous versions of the game, there is no need to change any settings in the preferences in FM26.
You need to copy and overwrite the faces and the new config file from the update pack into the faces folder.

If done correctly, you should be asked if you want to overwrite files – accept. You should have one folder for faces and another folder for iconfaces, and no sub-folder whatsoever in them.

These steps are to be repeated for every update pack downloaded, and they are to be installed chronologically.

Watch this YouTube tutorial video, which should you guide you on the steps you need to follow to install it. It might be for FM24, but the steps are exactly the same.
It's a known issue with FM26 - read this. We're assuming this issue will get resolved in upcoming official patches/updates.
The new players were added before FM26 was released and didn't have the right UID yet. We've started the process of mapping them to the correct person's UID.
When you have a blank space instead of a cut-out, it means there is a config file pointing to a folder in which an image with that UID is not present. This generally happens when an update pack is installed in a separate folder and not part of the overall faces folder, or there is a rogue config file somewhere. It could also be that you have somehow not downloaded the full megapack but only part of it. Search within the graphics folder for the UID of this person, and you will probably find the secondary image. Delete that folder, and it should be fine.

Otherwise, follow the steps in this comment and post the results so that we can assist you.
In line with guidance on the official SI forums, At present, FM26 cannot handle multiple files with the same name. For example, if you have two files with the name "kit.png", it will not load both. and Player Faces: These work fine. You do not need the icon files anymore, and they can cause issues with the note above. Delete them.

As a result, the iconfaces are no longer available for download because they're not needed. You should also delete the iconfaces folder manually from your system too 👍
You need to change your user data location. Simple steps on how to do so can be found here.

It is recommended that the user data location is not placed within the Steam installation folder as this may cause issues.
The torrent file includes the base megapack uploaded just before that year’s FM version is released. Any and all subsequent update packs are to be downloaded separately.
For those who have never used torrents, in the vast majority of cases, it's just a question of downloading the client program (a small file, less than 1MB) and then downloading the megapack torrent file (a tiny file, around 20k) and then letting the program do the job.

Torrent files need a torrent client to be downloaded. I personally use µTorrent but other common clients are BitTorrent, Vuze and Deluge. For those using torrents for the first time, here is a general walk-through on how to download torrents and a specific guide for µTorrent.

Be aware that it will take a substantial amount of time to download the file due to its sheer size and that other people depend on you hosting the file to get it so please leave your torrent client on after you have fully downloaded it. The etiquette is generally accepted to be to upload as much as you download, although this might not always be possible. The older the torrent file, the less likely it is that there will still be users seeding it.
Please report this so that they can be reuploaded. Since the files are hosted outside our pages, there isn't much we can do about this unfortunately. You could try downloading the pack via torrent and get it this way.
Extracting the file will take a while, but it shouldn't take the hours and hours that the program extracting will sometimes say it will. To speed it up, it is recommended that you have as few programs running as possible so that the system can dedicate as many resources to the extraction as it possibly can.

Secondly, for files as large as this, the calculation of the extraction time will be wildly incorrect at the start. After a while, it'll show a more realistic timeframe, which shouldn't be more than an hour or two if you have a good setup and few programs running at the same time.
You might have a poor internet connection or your browser might have some extensions which interrupt this download. Having loads of downloads ongoing and/or streaming may also de-prioritise this download.

Try using Google Chrome in incognito mode (or the equivalent mode for other browsers) and you should be able to resume the download from the point it was interrupted, if that happens.
The most recent update pack will include the most recent config file, so you can choose to download it and use it from there.

Alternatively, you can download fmXML and generate a config yourself. There's a video on YouTube on how to use it but it's really easy and the instructions are quite straight-forward.
Down the years, after an update pack was released, it was noted that some images included therein where of the wrong person, with a wrong extension or duplicated. Due to the way the download system is structured, these cannot be removed from the download, so there may well be a couple of hundred images’ worth of difference, depending on the version you download.
Our megapack covers 25,000 teams and it's impossible to cater for these kind of requests since players and staff get transferred or sacked or retire etc and recreating and reuploading 25,000 different smaller packs would be an impossible task. That's why we have all the images in a megapack so that everything is captured therein.
These persons do not appear in the default database for licensing reasons. This means that they only appear in your save-game because they were added via a custom file, generally the real name fix file. However, this means that their UID (which is what is used to map a person's image to the right individual) is different, and so the game cannot assign the image to them from your existing facepack.

To get them to show, you should individually download any previously available cut-out faces from here (or use the UID to find them in your existing facepack if you don't use the cut-out megapack), put them in a separate folder to your existing facepack and create a config file just for them using the method outlined in here (which works for all facepack styles, not just the cut-out megapack).

Look for an image named 19229435 in your megapack folder, and open your config.xml file to see whether that number is included within it.

You should only have 1 confg file. No idea where you got the example.ltf file either, or what it does frankly.

Can you upload the 4 config files here? By the way, how many images do you have in total in your faces folder?

Hi mate, apologies about slow reply been abroad and working haha. Just looking now and it appears I have no config files in the faces folder, I must have been looking in the wrong place. Also, I have 1394691683 in total.

Many thanks

a) You should have a config file for the game to assign faces to the correct player
b) If you have all the update packs installed, you should have around 228,000 for a total folder size of over 12GB. That number you have given me is the filename of the last png file - what I asked for is the total amount of files within the folder itself.

It seems you have neither of the above, and I can't tell how you've arrived at that situation. At this stage, I would suggest re-downloading the whole update pack again, to be honest...

Should the config already be in the folder after installing the game or should it download as part of the face pack?

Thanks

The config file is included in the download. It's included in every graphic file download, including this one, for a reason, which is to make the game read the files and assign them correctly in-game. You should have separate config files for each different type of file, i.e. a config file for this megapack, another one for the icons pack, another one for each kitpack, another one for large logos etc.

Thanks for your help, going to try and re-download and give that a go. I have always downloaded on a windows laptop and transferred the files on a memory stick onto my Macbook, if I were to download the file from your site onto my Macbook, which programs would I need? (i.e. uTorrent, Winrar etc.)

Thanks

What is the size of the file you have downloaded and how many images are included in your megapack folder? If 29114975 (Fekir's UID) isn't appearing, then either the file you downloaded wasn't the full megapack or the download itself was not fully completed.

So I've downloaded the "Cut Out Player Faces Megapack" twice now but every time I try to unpack it it gives me "error 13 with unrar" , I bought premium just to be able to download this file, is there a problem with the file? How do I go from here? I've downloaded other .rar files on here that were smaller, had no issues unpacking those.
EDIT: I'm on Mac OS btw. if you could provide me with a download split in four .rar files instead of one maybe that would work.

Hi there. Are you sure the file downloaded fully? It could be that the download did not complete and that you are trying to extract a partially-downloaded file. The whole file should be around 12.45GB in size.

Yeah it has the full size, if you could provide me with a download that has all the data split in 4 .rar files instead of one maybe that would help since I'm not having any issues with any other files.

I'm afraid that's not possible as the file is re-generated automatically by the hosting server every time an update pack is uploaded.

I'm afraid I'm not a Mac user, but I don't think it's related to the OS. I've never used Unrar neither but could you try extracting it with a different program such as Winrar?

So I'm trying it on my laptop now and it says it will require about 12 hours to unpack the file, is that normal?
My laptop has an i7 and 16 GB of RAM + an SSD so this is the first time I experience anything like this lol, even much bigger files are usually fully unpacked after an hour or two.
Oh wait nvm it keeps going up and still at 0%, says 16 hours now.

It's a big file and it's to be expected that it take a fair amount of time to extract, though 12 or 16 hours does seem a tad excessive.

In my experience, the initial assessment of the time needed to extract such big files is wildly inaccurate. In a few minutes and once it does get going, I'd wager the time estimated will decrease substantially to a more reasonable timeframe. That said, you're still looking at a good chunk of time, possibly hours rather than minutes. It's a 12.5GB file with close to half a million images, after all...

So I managed to unpack it and the faces are working now but the TCM team logos stopped working entirely for some reason.
The face pack is in Documents/FM 2019/ graphics / sortitoutsi (then there are the two folders "faces" and "iconfaces" within that folder.
The logos are in Documents/FM 2019/ graphics / Logos (then there are continent folders and it was working before I installed the face pack)

Can I see a screenshot of the logos folder?

Have you changed the preferences as per the opening post?

There's a torrent link for the base megapack. Instructions on how to get it can be found in the first post of this thread. For the individual update packs, you'll have to download them separately.

Thought I'd update the e English premiership cut outs so I downloaded each compressed file that's in the individual file menu. Un compressed them then put them in the relevant folder . Majority of them over written files which is what t should have done.

Loaded a new game up to play as Tottenham but none of the players faces show. Checked the other teams in the premiership and it's the same throughout!

I've reset cache....reloaded skin etc but still no luck.

No idea what's happened as I've used the colour facepack for numerous yrs and tend to download the update packs and install them with no problem at all.

I'm afraid you must have not installed the packs correctly. With the information you've provided, I have no way of knowing what you did wrong.

To see what's wrong, could I have screenshots of:
a) your megapack installation folder and/or any other sub-folders
b) how the players in question look in-game
please? Thanks.

I made a torrent file composing of all the updates complete, together with the separate updates too in case someone wanted to download them one by one.

Please seed!

To mods - would it be of help to put this up on the download page?

So I'm playing the game via windows gamepass...not steam but I think file systems more or less the same.

Sports interactive...football manager...graphics....facepack..
In there I have two folders... faces and icons.

I've always used this setup for this collection of facepacks and itw worked great. Always download update packs when released too with no problem.

This time I downloaded the individual teams, uncompreseed them then copied files to the above files which then overwritten the old faces, it did what I expected it to do.

As for the look of them all I get is the default silhouette on all the players from the teams I replaced. Very strange!

@mattyspurs76, if you're using Gamepass, I am led to understand that the files should actually be in Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2019/Gamepass.

Please let me know if this works so I can add it to the OP
