On another day we stay up, just one of those things sadly.
At least I wont suffer relegation with Ballymena United... well, I hope not anyway!
r96
We've made the top six after the split, which guarantees us at least a place in the end of season European play-offs - which four teams will play in (semi-finals, final), winner gets a UEFA Europa Conference League place for next season. Ballymena actually lost the play-off final last campaign.

Unfortunately we went five winless post-split, we were unlikely to get an automatic European spot anyway. This means...

This Season's (2025-26) Expectation(s): Top half
Overall Team #: 5 | Career Honours: 0
Fairly dull first few months with Ballymena United, by the end. Changes needed in 2026-27.
I only made one signing in the January market, signing young Harry Anderson on loan from Larne. He was very good, netting eight goals in ten starts. His Larne contract is ending soon, I've made a contract offer to retain him - hopefully we do, as top goalscorer Seamus Anderson is leaving when his contract expires. We need Harry. Colin Coyle also joined, but that was done by the club for our reserve squad. Only youngsters left.
Thank you for reading!
Next? January 2027! (hopefully)

Cheers!
There have been ups and downs that's for sure, adds to the realism I guess.

Good times ahead in 2026/27?
I won't be holding my breath, but a pleasing start nevertheless.

Admittedly the three defeats were to teams that finished above us last campaign, and only Larne ripped us a new one, but still...
Hopefully that was just a blip.

Just need to find some consistency!

For the first time in my 12+ years playing Football Manager, perhaps I need to start downloading other people's tactics/using its presets - because, evidently, I don't have a clue.
#Relegation3, coming soon to a forum near you!

Ah man, I really wanted to progress and lose yet another cup final.
r96
One month until I'm out of here, then.

We're gonna win the league,
we're gonna win the league!
r96
Gonna get the boot on derby day... how fitting.
r96
Easily pleased.
For the fans, amid their incompetent board.

Intrigued on your next step!
r96
Indeed!
It was a job that simply wasn't working, definitely the least enjoyable job so far - and that says something given I was sacked by Basingstoke Town within six months!

For completeness, that's how it all concluded with Ballymena United. Very unenjoyable second stint in Northern Ireland.
Current Team: Fylkir (Icelandic Úrvalsdeild) | Honours With Them: 0
This Season's (2027) Expectation(s): Win the league
Overall Team #: 6 | Career Honours: 0
Real Life
Fylkir were founded in 1967, as KSÁ. They are nicknamed Fylkismenn and play their home matches at the Fylkisvöllur (cap. 1,854) in Reykjavík, the nation's capital city. They've spent the majority of their recent history in the top-flight, though did spent a season in the second tier in 2017; prior to getting promoted back up at their first attempt. They've never won the Úrvalsdeild, though did finish 2nd back in 2002 - missing out to KR.
Fylkir have won the Icelandic Cup twice (2001 & 2002), though haven't tasted success in the Icelandic League Cup - but have notably finished as runners-up three times. They hold European experience, albeit without major success.
In-Game
Now July 2027, Fylkir are still without a league title but have become one of the country's big clubs, having finished inside the top three in four of the seven seasons in this save. Previous managers have added to the club's trophy cabinet, following a Icelandic Cup win in 2026 and two Icelandic League Cup triumphs in 2024 and 2026 respectively; they also won their maiden Icelandic Super Cup back in April of this year. All that's missing is that Úrvalsdeild trophy.
I join Fylkir with July, August and September left to fulfil as they currently sit 10th, 3pts above the drop zone and only 10pts off league leaders KA. Surprisingly, the board's expectation is to win the league title - which is, of course, possible given the relatively short gap but I can't see us doing it - who knows in football, though.
Away from the league, Fylkir have been eliminated from the two domestic cup competitions. However, they are in the UEFA Europa Conference League. We're in the midst of a first qualifying round tie with Slovenian outfit Mura, the first leg has already been played which Fylkir won 1-0 in Reykjavík. The second leg will be my second match in charge, with it being my first experience of continental football in the save.
Something has gone very wrong for them this campaign, can I positively alter their season?

First 2 Games: Failed to beat second bottom, before getting battered in Europe.
Who saw that coming? I'm shocked myself.
