Knew i'd get a bite

How is that a bite? I responded in exactly the same manner you did.

Fuck, I hate that "got a bite" bullshit. You act like a cunt and then when someone calls you out on it you pull out that rubbish. Moron.

Maybe not a bite then, we'll call it a cause for debate

Yeah anything from about 8th to 14th is mid table mediocrity.

Pussied out because he's not first choice anymore?

There's only so far that shirt pulling and getting away with blatant fouls will get you.

Respect for him for his loyalty and he was a very good defender back in his day.

Massively scummy though.

A champions league winners medal?

So does Djimi Traore, Jesper Blomqvist and Finidi George.

Your point is?

True heros.

If Djimi and David won one, I still hold out hope for myself.

Such a stupid point. As if he was the only defender that does that, nice bait though. He's 35 as well, no longer has the legs to cope with the demands of the Premier League, especially at CB.

He never had the legs!

Carragher was always a bit over rated as a player I thought, though he was still quite good. Certainly one of the better Premier League era defenders but not as good as often made out. People used to praise his last ditch goal saving tackles but half the time he was only doing it because he'd been beaten for pace or caught out of position. Plenty of own goals and horror tackles but I guess that's what old school English defenders are like.

That said, a one club man, loyal servant etc and he seems like a good guy off the field, certainly a nicer guy than Gerrard and will have more to offer after he's retired.

What an idiotic statement to make.

Considering he's played against both Arsenal and City in the past few weeks, and played pretty well at the age of 35 speaks for himself. He's never been the fastest or the most technically gifted but has always put his body on the line for Liverpool and was a fantastic defender and a servant to the club.

First bit was clearly a joke about his England retirement.

He was always going to find it real tough to get into the team seeing he had the likes of Sol Campbell, then Rio Ferdinand and John Terry there, but he's not far of any of them .

Carragher was, in his prime, a very good Premier League defender, but he never reached the heights of genuinely world class defenders like Campbell and Ferdinand. He's been a fantastic servant to Liverpool but I'd agree that he was perhaps a tad overrated throughout his career.

He was a great defender in his prime but never world class. Doesn't take it away from him he'll go down as one of Liverpool's greatest ever servants though.

Haha. Obviously I was just baiting Carroll, and it worked quite well.

Carra didnt really come good until he was 25 odd and Hyypia/Henchoz left, but he and Stevie have carried Liverpool (with the exception of a couple of players; Torres/Suarez) for the past decade.

He was out playing right back most of that time, which didn't suit him. But your still right. And what King Luis said.

How many games did they start on the way to the final? And he probably played his best when he was playing with Hyypia.
