Frequently Asked Questions

If you've never downloaded the pack before, you should just download the larger "complete pack".

If you're not a premium member, it is recommended that you download the base megapack via torrent by going to our cut-out megapack download page. After which, you should then download all the update packs released to date and apply them chronologically.

If you're a premium member, just download the most recent complete pack.

If you already have a version of our Cut-Out Faces Megapack installed, then click "Download Latest Changes" and you'll be presented with a list of all the updates we've released since you've last downloaded a file. Simply download any you might have missed, applying the oldest first and continuing to apply update packs in the chronological order in which they were released.
Watch this YouTube tutorial video, which should you guide you on the steps you need to follow to install it. You need to use Winrar (or a similar program) to extract the downloaded file.

Contrary to previous versions of the game, there is no need to change any settings in the preferences in FM26.
You need to copy and overwrite the faces and the new config file from the update pack into the faces folder.

If done correctly, you should be asked if you want to overwrite files – accept. You should have one folder for faces and another folder for iconfaces, and no sub-folder whatsoever in them.

These steps are to be repeated for every update pack downloaded, and they are to be installed chronologically.

Watch this YouTube tutorial video, which should you guide you on the steps you need to follow to install it. It might be for FM24, but the steps are exactly the same.
It's a known issue with FM26 - read this. We're assuming this issue will get resolved in upcoming official patches/updates.
The new players were added before FM26 was released and didn't have the right UID yet. We've started the process of mapping them to the correct person's UID.
When you have a blank space instead of a cut-out, it means there is a config file pointing to a folder in which an image with that UID is not present. This generally happens when an update pack is installed in a separate folder and not part of the overall faces folder, or there is a rogue config file somewhere. It could also be that you have somehow not downloaded the full megapack but only part of it. Search within the graphics folder for the UID of this person, and you will probably find the secondary image. Delete that folder, and it should be fine.

Otherwise, follow the steps in this comment and post the results so that we can assist you.
In line with guidance on the official SI forums, At present, FM26 cannot handle multiple files with the same name. For example, if you have two files with the name "kit.png", it will not load both. and Player Faces: These work fine. You do not need the icon files anymore, and they can cause issues with the note above. Delete them.

As a result, the iconfaces are no longer available for download because they're not needed. You should also delete the iconfaces folder manually from your system too 👍
You need to change your user data location. Simple steps on how to do so can be found here.

It is recommended that the user data location is not placed within the Steam installation folder as this may cause issues.
The torrent file includes the base megapack uploaded just before that year’s FM version is released. Any and all subsequent update packs are to be downloaded separately.
For those who have never used torrents, in the vast majority of cases, it's just a question of downloading the client program (a small file, less than 1MB) and then downloading the megapack torrent file (a tiny file, around 20k) and then letting the program do the job.

Torrent files need a torrent client to be downloaded. I personally use µTorrent but other common clients are BitTorrent, Vuze and Deluge. For those using torrents for the first time, here is a general walk-through on how to download torrents and a specific guide for µTorrent.

Be aware that it will take a substantial amount of time to download the file due to its sheer size and that other people depend on you hosting the file to get it so please leave your torrent client on after you have fully downloaded it. The etiquette is generally accepted to be to upload as much as you download, although this might not always be possible. The older the torrent file, the less likely it is that there will still be users seeding it.
Please report this so that they can be reuploaded. Since the files are hosted outside our pages, there isn't much we can do about this unfortunately. You could try downloading the pack via torrent and get it this way.
Extracting the file will take a while, but it shouldn't take the hours and hours that the program extracting will sometimes say it will. To speed it up, it is recommended that you have as few programs running as possible so that the system can dedicate as many resources to the extraction as it possibly can.

Secondly, for files as large as this, the calculation of the extraction time will be wildly incorrect at the start. After a while, it'll show a more realistic timeframe, which shouldn't be more than an hour or two if you have a good setup and few programs running at the same time.
You might have a poor internet connection or your browser might have some extensions which interrupt this download. Having loads of downloads ongoing and/or streaming may also de-prioritise this download.

Try using Google Chrome in incognito mode (or the equivalent mode for other browsers) and you should be able to resume the download from the point it was interrupted, if that happens.
The most recent update pack will include the most recent config file, so you can choose to download it and use it from there.

Alternatively, you can download fmXML and generate a config yourself. There's a video on YouTube on how to use it but it's really easy and the instructions are quite straight-forward.
Down the years, after an update pack was released, it was noted that some images included therein where of the wrong person, with a wrong extension or duplicated. Due to the way the download system is structured, these cannot be removed from the download, so there may well be a couple of hundred images’ worth of difference, depending on the version you download.
Our megapack covers 25,000 teams and it's impossible to cater for these kind of requests since players and staff get transferred or sacked or retire etc and recreating and reuploading 25,000 different smaller packs would be an impossible task. That's why we have all the images in a megapack so that everything is captured therein.
These persons do not appear in the default database for licensing reasons. This means that they only appear in your save-game because they were added via a custom file, generally the real name fix file. However, this means that their UID (which is what is used to map a person's image to the right individual) is different, and so the game cannot assign the image to them from your existing facepack.

To get them to show, you should individually download any previously available cut-out faces from here (or use the UID to find them in your existing facepack if you don't use the cut-out megapack), put them in a separate folder to your existing facepack and create a config file just for them using the method outlined in here (which works for all facepack styles, not just the cut-out megapack).

I think I may be missing some images after all. Should José Bosingwa (741143) have a picture? 741143 is mentioned in the xml, but I do not have the image in the faces folder. The faces folder contains a png without a name however (.png), but its not Bosingwa.

How many png files should there be in the faces folder? I have 115 729. Judging from the xml file's line numbers, there probably should be 123 991.

I know this was discussed at some point earlier in the thread, but I can't for the life of me remember the outcome. You should definitely have at least around 8k more images to be fully up-to-date.

I know it might seem like a ball-ache now that you went to all the effort of downloading the separate packs, but you could always try to download the 5.0 megapack via torrent, available at the bottom of the page you link to above. You would then download the 4 update packs released thus far to ensure you are fully up-to-date...

I think the update packs were the last 4 separate packs I downloaded. Gotta give the torrent a go then.

Oreyt lads.

Face packs have destroyed the memory on my pc, I'm literally down to 900mb left, so I've purchased an external hard drive.

Is it possible to save Face packs to external hard drives?

Cheers

Not really, you can change the user folder from within the preferences to wherever you like.

Hi all

Got a copy of football manager 2013 through the other day. Decided I wanted to use the face pack which a friend from work had given me a mega pack 4 which I have put as a folder containing all the faces in the graphics folder of the sports interactive folder, doing exactly the same as what he has done which works fine for him.

After doing the change round in preferences and fiddling around a lot with it, everything I do the pictures still don't appear in the game. Can anybody help or give me some advice.

cheers all

I've just replied to your other thread.

Can you tell us how many images there are in the megapack folder and if there is a file named config.xml in there, please?

Hi sorry about that

there's 65,518 files and as far as I can see there's no config files only the png picture files

I can't tell which version you downloaded but that's around half the current total image count so you've got a fair amount missing.

The config file is what makes the game "read" the images. The lack of it is the reason they're not showing.

I'd suggest downloading the 5.0 torrent file from the bottom of this page, then downloading and applying the 4 subsequent update packs to be up-to-date.

Why's there no config files in the packs? Unfortunate that i've just spent 2 days downloading each pack and they don't work. So i've got to now dowload the 5GB megapack.

Just to expand on above, Pack 12 and the Update Packs have .xml within them, none of the others do so they're pretty useless..

caddy, I'm afraid you're mistaken. You need only one config file in the base megapack download packs, which is then overwritten with each megapack update pack. The base megapack download packs are not separate entities but rather part of large folder. You do not need to have a config file in each - remember they will all end up in one folder and not separate folders.

It's something wrong at your end then, I'm afraid. What is the exact path where you installed the megapack? With screenshots, if possible.

Again, please provide me with the exact path; copy and paste it from the address bar if necessary.

Given that you are a premium member, I am assuming that you have downloaded the file using the single-click download from this site. Can you confirm this?

Use this page - the official FM13 manual and search for YOUR GAME'S FILES on that page. If you're not sure what you're doing, then I'm not sure I can recommend that you mess about with the folder structure. It's quite straight-forward imo but I recommend that you ensure you know what you're doing. Tbh, I don't think this is the right place for you to do so...

You still have not told me the exact path the MP's been placed in. Help me help you here.

The pack works fine for me and thousands of others so it's pretty clear there's something wrong at your end. Either you've installed it incorrectly or your PC can't somehow cope with the size of it, but this is imo unlikely.

If you could please state what you mean by exact path? do you mean sports interactive-football manager 2013-graphics ? as I have done it the same with all other graphics as it states in the installation guide. My computer cost 2k only last year and has plenty of memory etc.

Furthermore as I have paid for premium membership I do not appreciate to clear attitude that you are showing a customer.

Is that in the Steam folder or the Documents folder? It should be in the latter, but users have been known to erroneously place it in the former where it's known to cause issues. I was thinking that might have been the case.

The price of your computer is not really relevant at this point but, as I've explained before, it's unlikely that it's related to your system, even more now that you've indicated that removing the facepack seems to remove the problem.

When exactly was the game crashing? Was it crashing during matches? Was it crashing when clicking on a particular page (player/team/competition)? Was it crashing during processing? Are the player images displaying at any point before crashing? Have you extracted the megapack file download? How many images do you have in there? Any more info you can provide will help us maybe pinpoint the problem. It seems to me that you've somehow installed it incorrectly from the little evidence that I can gather, but remote assistance is rather difficult unless you can provide me with some furthe details.

I'm not sure what your problem with me is here. It's a Sunday evening and I'm trying to help you find a solution to your problem so I don't believe your attitude is warranted tbph.

It is in the documents folder, it crashes the moment I click on players sometimes maybe a day into the game. there are over 120000 images in the file and they do show before it crashes.

I understand you are trying to help me but ive paid to use this site and you say I still havent done what you asked and 'help me help you' when im not sure what you are asking, therefore did not appreciate that especially as paying for the privilage.
