A boring 0-0 will do.

Less than two hours to go, christ.

Rooney not in the squad apparently.

Either injured or refused to play on the wing if its the latter fuck him.

Ok so, apparently, he's on the bench. What the fuck?

Nani and Giggs starting are two big risks to be honest.

Nani has a massive opportunity tonight, I hope he takes it and shows how amazing he can be.

Subs: Lindegaard, Evans, Valencia, Young, Kagawa, Rooney, Hernandez.

I literally can not understand any scenario in which current day Ryan Giggs, whether its his 1000 appearance or not should be in a game this important over Rooney.

I'm guessing Fergie's plan is to play Giggs for 60 mins and then bring Rooney on for him, especially if we're in front?

Although I do agree that starting Giggs is a risk.

People comparing this to Beckham being benched in 02/03 for the Madrid match, saying that a repeat scenario will happen. They need to calm down.

Would've liked Evans over Vidic too.

Could turn out to be utter genius. Mourinho certainly wouldn't have his team set up without Rooney being taken into consideration and now their game-plan might have to be adjusted with just an hour to go.

The only thing I can think is Rooney isn't 100% fit...

There seriously is no other reason to leave him out.

Probably should left RVP out and played De Gea upfront. That would throw them.

Personally don't really see it as genius myself, could even be stupidity if there isn't a genuine reason (injury) for leaving him out.

Although I've just realised if Real score it's back to square one although they'll have the impetus.

Even before the red card, United scored but Madrid came right back at them and pressured them so much, now with the man down it's going to take something heroic to stop Madrid.

If that was a red card for Nani then Arbeloa should have been sent off when he miscontrolled the ball and studded Evra in the first half.

Corner Madrid > Cleared > Ball pumped in > Corner Madrid > Cleared > Ball pumped in > Corner Madrid and repeat... going to be a long half an hour for United.
