Watched Newcastle-Stoke - our crossing was uniformally dreadful all afternoon so it was good that Stoke's penalty was the kick up the arse we needed to win it. Fantastic stuff - we've got a chance of top half now.

Tony Pulis afterwards complete overreaction - since when was a push a slap to the face?

I don't know why it was surprising everyone in the ground that Stoke came to defend and kick us though - that's what you get with Stoke and I thought we played quite well yesterday. Our delivery in the final 3rd was shocking though.

It's not like he was doing a particularly bad job, I'm not sure even Mourinho would do any better with what McDermott had to work with.
At least now he can finally go back to starring in Little Britain.

Reckon there should be an unwritten law that if you take a team up you should be able to see out the season in charge. Unless the manager spends a fortune or is set to do really awful.

Di Canio is favourite Reckon Nigel Pearson might be a decent outside bet.

He got a mid-table league 2 side promoted and put them in the play-offs for League One and probably would have got them into the Championship had they not lost Matt Ritchie. Besides, it's Paolo di Canio.

Plus Reading aren't really a Prem side are they? In terms of recruitment. No big player/manager will want to come to them so they have to go for something a bit more untested.

Yeah, if or when they go down, they'll have one of the most exciting young managers in the Championship who would have probably been in the Championship next season anyway had the Swindon board been more accommodating financially.
