But still, if it was old Torres he'd have that in the back of the net without a second thought.

It's really sad, I've never seen him to be world class, but this is a new low.

He needs to get away from Chelsea if he's ever to recapture his form of old.

That video is extremely harsh.

He's knocked that ball back into a space were a midfielder should be running into to pick up scraps.

I can't tell if that was a joke or not?

Fernando Torres Rejects Anzhi Move

Coming from the Daily Mail the credibility of the report is obviously questionable. It does make you wonder though, how the hell are we going to offload someone like Fernando Torres?

Chelsea should offer Atletico Madrid £40m+, Torres and another year of Cortoius for Falcao.

His release clause is 'only' £52m. That would be going slightly overboard.

Atléti having to take Torres wouldn't be the worst idea though

I suppose, but that's making the assumption that Torres is worth more than £12m.

No, I was thinking they pay Atléti the full release-clause but as part of that, they are obliged to 'accept' Torres.

Means nothing to me when it is against teams like Bucharest, Norsjelland, Brentford...

Well if it's that easy why didn't Zola, Lampard or Drogba do it?

Meh, had he bothered to turn up for the Super Cup it would of been eight different competitions.

It's ridiculous at this stage with Torres though.

Even after scoring the goal that sends them into the next round he's being slated.

I look at Torres now and he looks like Bambi on ice half the time.

It almost looks like he's forgotten how to kick a football properly, his technique is really weird.

And missing a peno

If it's good enough for Messi and Ronaldo to miss the odd peno then it's okay for Fernando.

He doesn't take them very often does he?

Can't remember the last time I've seen him take a peno.

He scored one at Sunderland earlier this season, his only try with Chelsea prior to last night

I like to think that Simeone would be able to get Torres back on form.

Having to persist with a hopelessly out-of-sorts 'star player' might be a dealbreaker though.

True, but players like Messi and Ronaldo are afforded more sympathy given their huge goal tallies and greater level of contribution.

I'd take Torres at Arsenal, he may not be scoring but i certainly don't believe his career is as good as finished. All he needs is someone to put an arm around him and give him a bit of confidence, rather than slate every single thing he does on the pitch.
