Frequently Asked Questions

If you've never downloaded the pack before, you should just download the larger "complete pack".

If you're not a premium member, it is recommended that you download the base megapack via torrent by going to our cut-out megapack download page. After which, you should then download all the update packs released to date and apply them chronologically.

If you're a premium member, just download the most recent complete pack.

If you already have a version of our Cut-Out Faces Megapack installed, then click "Download Latest Changes" and you'll be presented with a list of all the updates we've released since you've last downloaded a file. Simply download any you might have missed, applying the oldest first and continuing to apply update packs in the chronological order in which they were released.
Watch this YouTube tutorial video, which should you guide you on the steps you need to follow to install it. You need to use Winrar (or a similar program) to extract the downloaded file.

Contrary to previous versions of the game, there is no need to change any settings in the preferences in FM26.
You need to copy and overwrite the faces and the new config file from the update pack into the faces folder.

If done correctly, you should be asked if you want to overwrite files – accept. You should have one folder for faces and another folder for iconfaces, and no sub-folder whatsoever in them.

These steps are to be repeated for every update pack downloaded, and they are to be installed chronologically.

Watch this YouTube tutorial video, which should you guide you on the steps you need to follow to install it. It might be for FM24, but the steps are exactly the same.
It's a known issue with FM26 - read this. We're assuming this issue will get resolved in upcoming official patches/updates.
The new players were added before FM26 was released and didn't have the right UID yet. We've started the process of mapping them to the correct person's UID.
When you have a blank space instead of a cut-out, it means there is a config file pointing to a folder in which an image with that UID is not present. This generally happens when an update pack is installed in a separate folder and not part of the overall faces folder, or there is a rogue config file somewhere. It could also be that you have somehow not downloaded the full megapack but only part of it. Search within the graphics folder for the UID of this person, and you will probably find the secondary image. Delete that folder, and it should be fine.

Otherwise, follow the steps in this comment and post the results so that we can assist you.
In line with guidance on the official SI forums, At present, FM26 cannot handle multiple files with the same name. For example, if you have two files with the name "kit.png", it will not load both. and Player Faces: These work fine. You do not need the icon files anymore, and they can cause issues with the note above. Delete them.

As a result, the iconfaces are no longer available for download because they're not needed. You should also delete the iconfaces folder manually from your system too 👍
You need to change your user data location. Simple steps on how to do so can be found here.

It is recommended that the user data location is not placed within the Steam installation folder as this may cause issues.
The torrent file includes the base megapack uploaded just before that year’s FM version is released. Any and all subsequent update packs are to be downloaded separately.
For those who have never used torrents, in the vast majority of cases, it's just a question of downloading the client program (a small file, less than 1MB) and then downloading the megapack torrent file (a tiny file, around 20k) and then letting the program do the job.

Torrent files need a torrent client to be downloaded. I personally use µTorrent but other common clients are BitTorrent, Vuze and Deluge. For those using torrents for the first time, here is a general walk-through on how to download torrents and a specific guide for µTorrent.

Be aware that it will take a substantial amount of time to download the file due to its sheer size and that other people depend on you hosting the file to get it so please leave your torrent client on after you have fully downloaded it. The etiquette is generally accepted to be to upload as much as you download, although this might not always be possible. The older the torrent file, the less likely it is that there will still be users seeding it.
Please report this so that they can be reuploaded. Since the files are hosted outside our pages, there isn't much we can do about this unfortunately. You could try downloading the pack via torrent and get it this way.
Extracting the file will take a while, but it shouldn't take the hours and hours that the program extracting will sometimes say it will. To speed it up, it is recommended that you have as few programs running as possible so that the system can dedicate as many resources to the extraction as it possibly can.

Secondly, for files as large as this, the calculation of the extraction time will be wildly incorrect at the start. After a while, it'll show a more realistic timeframe, which shouldn't be more than an hour or two if you have a good setup and few programs running at the same time.
You might have a poor internet connection or your browser might have some extensions which interrupt this download. Having loads of downloads ongoing and/or streaming may also de-prioritise this download.

Try using Google Chrome in incognito mode (or the equivalent mode for other browsers) and you should be able to resume the download from the point it was interrupted, if that happens.
The most recent update pack will include the most recent config file, so you can choose to download it and use it from there.

Alternatively, you can download fmXML and generate a config yourself. There's a video on YouTube on how to use it but it's really easy and the instructions are quite straight-forward.
Down the years, after an update pack was released, it was noted that some images included therein where of the wrong person, with a wrong extension or duplicated. Due to the way the download system is structured, these cannot be removed from the download, so there may well be a couple of hundred images’ worth of difference, depending on the version you download.
Our megapack covers 25,000 teams and it's impossible to cater for these kind of requests since players and staff get transferred or sacked or retire etc and recreating and reuploading 25,000 different smaller packs would be an impossible task. That's why we have all the images in a megapack so that everything is captured therein.
These persons do not appear in the default database for licensing reasons. This means that they only appear in your save-game because they were added via a custom file, generally the real name fix file. However, this means that their UID (which is what is used to map a person's image to the right individual) is different, and so the game cannot assign the image to them from your existing facepack.

To get them to show, you should individually download any previously available cut-out faces from here (or use the UID to find them in your existing facepack if you don't use the cut-out megapack), put them in a separate folder to your existing facepack and create a config file just for them using the method outlined in here (which works for all facepack styles, not just the cut-out megapack).

Not that I can tell, the download just shows up “network error” and unable to click on it again it doesn't start downloading the estimated time just goes up soon as it starts then errors.

Clicked on the link and only torrent files I can see are the 400/500mb updates? I'm looking for the 18gb file ideally. Or am I just being blind.

When using Chrome, you should be able to resume the download from the download ribbon at the bottom if interrupted.

On that page, I see a link to ‘download pack torrent’. It's on the left, just above the links to the various update packs. If you do not see it, can you give us a screenshot of what you see?

The facepack doesn't just stop working. Did you add any other custom file between when it was working and now? It might be that a file you added which did not appear to be related at all which somehow stopped the pack from working.

Can I have a screenshot of your graphics folder and of your faces folder? Ideally showing the path of each and the amount of files in the latter folder too, if possible.

Add the contents of each update pack in date order. The config file in the most recent update pack will work for all the cut-outs.

And which is the original cut? For me, the one on the left has too much green reflected on the cheek and chin, so I prefer the second one. But if you don't agree with me on this or any other cut, the beauty of the megapack is that you can easily replace the cut in the megapack with any other one of your choosing and it should work 🙂

Hi there. I downloaded the megapack and started a save with Ajax but none of Ajax staff pictures are there except for Overmars. Am I missing something?

Hi there. I downloaded the megapack and started a save with Ajax but none of Ajax staff pictures are there except for Overmars. Am I missing something?

Quite an obscure issue, I'll grant you.

Due to licensing issues, out of the whole list of Ajax staff members, only Overmars and Van der Sar (I believe) are in the default database. The remaining staff members are not visible and needed to be added as part of the licensing fix files.

The megapack works by using the config file to assign images to a person's Unique ID number. Persons who are in the database have a fixed UID, whether it's on your save game, mine or on the save game of somebody in Nepal or Bolivia. However, when it comes to persons added in a custom editor data file (like the Ajax staff mentioned above), the UID's are variable and will depend entirely on the combination of editor data file the person using them has in place. Consequently, cut-outs for persons not in the default database cannot be included in the megapack because they cannot be reliably assigned to the right person.

It is however possible for you to download the cut-outs for these persons from previous versions of the megapack using the cut-out search tool, put them in a separate folder, save them by the UID that they have in your save game and generate a config file for them using the methods outlined in this thread.

Thank you for your reply! So basically I should find the UID of each the staff and download the pictures individually and save them as the corresponding ID number in a folder in the graphics folder? Will this carry over to other save games as well?

Yes to the bit in bold.

Due to the variable UID issue, it may be the case that the persons' UID's are different in other saves and therefore the process might not necessarily work for other save games.

Hello,

I was wondering if there is any place to download all the icon face versions of the faces or would I have to download all of these packs again?

I know it may seem a bit strange but over all these years of using these wonderful faces I have never installed the icon folders (I'm not sure if they were even a thing when I first started using this).

Last month as luck would have it, I uploaded the whole iconfaces folder for somebody else, and you can download it from here

For the icons folder to be complete, you'll need to download the 13.04 and 13.05 update packs and extract just the contents of the iconfaces folders from therein 👍

Can we have screenshots of the location you've installed the file in, and also of the faces folder itself? Using the latest update pack released this morning, you should have 300,000+ images in the faces folder and it should be located in Documents \ Sports Interactive \ Football Manager 2021 \ graphics

Are there any other faces which have this issue or is it just VVD?

Good evening.

I have a slight display problem only with the faces of players from the French and Dutch teams.

I am using your full pack and it is up to date.

Do I have to re-download it completely or is it a license problem ?

Thank you

I wonder if, and if so, how to approach the face of Andrej Djruric (RFK Graficar-Red Star Belgrade B team, U-19)? it exists on the Sortitouts database, but it is not possible to access and download the image on its profile. If anyone can just send me a face. Thanks in advance

Here you go 👍

@Footygamer, there seems to be an issue with the link to this player's profile from his team's database page, wherein the link does not include the player's name at the end of the URL (like every other player). Once input manually, it's displayed as per the above paragraph, so it's a display issue, I suspect 😉

Thanks a lot.
