Which would be unnecessary if not for the level of debt they piled upon us.
The debt they bought has been a millstone around our neck, the accelerated commercialisation has done nothing except tackle that debt. Little to do with our success (which has basically allowed the commercialisation, not been caused by it).
Pippadoc
So, the added revenue of commercialisation only brings in enough money to cover debt repayments?
Perhaps the original ability to commercialise is based on you having success, but now all the big clubs are doing it and brings in plenty of money it's the reason (or at least part of the reason) you're remaining in competition with other sides
The 'millstone' doesn't seem to have had too much of an effect on your on pitch results, it's not like you've had any issues spending on players when needed.
Out of curiosity, what aspects of commercialisation do you have problems with?

You'll forgive me, I'm sure, but it's a boring debate thats been done to death and one that I have no interest in getting involved in.
There's a ton that has been written and said on the Glazer's, if you're interested you can find it.
Shola
Can't you read? Ferguson was about to be 'fired'.
Franck
Judging by the language used, an American.
ianbaker
Exactly. And we all know that what an American journo knows about football is equal to my 7 year old nephew.

Firstly, that's irrelevant the Glazer's were lucky Ferguson was there, no other manager would have done as well as he on the tight rope he was forced to walk.
Secondly, Ferguson being sacked would have been absolute suicide by Magnier and McManus they wouldn't have done it, no matter how much Ferguson rubbed them up the wrong way.

Oh no. He's back.

I don't think he's regarded as highly as Amos, but he's fourth choice at Man Utd so he must have something about him.

He's pretty highly rated I think.

He will be the fifth or sixth keeper we've had this year, club legend Jimmy Walker retired to become a coach, David Grof was shit and was released and there have been at least two other loanee's who have all been recalled to their respective clubs. We really need a bit of consistency between the posts now.
Ninja
Not really.
It's generally a pretty good guide for younger players, I think, as those that actually bother to watch the youngsters have gotten pretty good at guessing which ones will make it and which won't.
The senior players not so much, cause it just gets into an inevitable spiraling circle-jerk of scapegoating and OTT praise.

A brilliant Valencia assist.
He needs to get back to doing this for us.

There's so many things wrong with this article.

That's an awfully written article but I agree with the principle that Rio's ended up looking like a bit of a chump after all of this. I wouldn't select him again if I was Hodgson.
Sam
Yeah I can understand his point saying Roy shouldn't select Rio again is a valid one. However comments like this:
"And was it then wrong to take a flight to Qatar to carry out media duties? Of course it was."
No, it wasn't, Stan. Just because he has a medical programme to stick do doesn't mean he can't do punditry work.
"This is all about his brand. Extending his name across the world and making sure he has plenty to turn to after football."
He's played for Manchester United for ten seasons, he's already known around the world so he's going to be fine after football, jesus christ.
Then again how many people know Collymore's name outside of the UK in comparison to Rio? Still bitter, Stan.

Asks the entire footballing world.

Wonderful.
