Assuming he's not still carrying a knock, I'd like to see Podolski start up front.

I don't think Giroud's tackle was particularly bad, but I suppose you could argue he could have done some damage and that he lost control of his body in a manner that could have caused injury, which are both valid reasons for not overturning the decision. He's a tad unlucky, but it seems understandable.

Suarez has more than enough counts on his rap sheet.

Doesn't mean this ban isn't a massive overreaction, you'll no doubt say different but to treat it any different to a player punching someone is just silly.
Also i don't know what the FA base any of their bans on its just plain odd, seems like they just pluck numbers out of the air and say yeah that'll do. Must be some sort of consistency surely?

Not sure if this is why but Defoe probably got nothing after the game because the ref had dealt with if by giving him a yellow card. The same reason the FA gave to not punishing Aguero after the challange on Luiz because the ref had spoke to Aguero

That rules only recently come in hasn't it? cause after the Bowyer/Dyer fight Bowyer was given an additional 3 match ban, or can you only give an additional ban on top of a red card i guess, either way its a dumb rule when the ref clearly gets it wrong.
rossiheslopi
Fair enough I suppose, but the outcry about Suarez is way more than I ever remember it being for Defoe? I may obviously be wrong but I'd forgotten about the Defoe bite until this came up, can't see this being allowed to be forgotten as easily.
Crane
That's because he's an evil human being who deserves never to play football again.

It's the second hime in his career he's suspended for that particular offense, 6 the first time, 10 the second, makes sense to me.
Doing it once is already brainless, doing it again is beyond comprehension.

Break another player's leg - 3-match ban (assuming you get sent off)
Bite another player - 10-match ban.

Racially abuse a player - 8 matches.
The FA are so inconsistent.

I liked the calls to boycott the FA Cup, refuse Steven Gerrard to play for England and that they should just leave England and move to Spain.

Come on... It's a repeat offence ffs.

And the 'FA saying that biting is worse than racism' argument. Absolute morons.
I do feel sorry for the FA in this. Their disciplinary process is designed towards punishing bad tackles. And it will be near impossible to deal with racism, exceptional bad tackles, punches, slaps and violence to referees and fans effectively.
