sortitoutsi Background and Stadium Packs
The Backgrounds Megapack was originally made up of aerial shots of stadiums taken from Google Maps and Google Earth, but is now also containing Competitions, Player and Fan Backgrounds, as well as beautiful City Images.

I think now it is very difficult for guys who do not use this for years. At me everything is ok, but for other? Do you mean you can do this simpler?

This is fixed now 😎 Sorry for releasing the broken the files and it taking a few days to fix 😳 The build process is fixed now so it won't happen next month.
Footygamer
It was a bug. Which means it was accidental and has now been fixed. It won't be this confusing in future updates.

As I said, to do a clean install, I downloaded the megapacks, because I didn't understand the structure of the updates. By downloading megapacks, these are the folders:

Hi Guys,
I have a very similar problem. I have downloaded files yesterday, unzip and copied to the created “background” folder in “graphics”.
Logos and faces are working fine, but backgrounds are not changed.
What me to do to have it fixed?
@mienos You should only have one folder for each background type.
To avoid confusion, I'd advise you to always download and extract the update packs to a different place than your FM folder (just put them on your desktop or whatever). After you've copied everything over, you can then delete those.
What you then do is only move the actual images and config over to your backgrounds folder.
Click through all the folders in the update pack until you get here. Copy all of them
And then put them here
Then you need to delete the old config file and replace it with the one in the update pack (I understand it's a bit confusing with how it's currently set up)
That looks fine, can you make a screenshot inside of one of those folders? It's most important to know where the ‘config’ file is (if it's in there)

Please view attach.
That's how it should be, weird. I'll download the new update in an hour to check if something is still wrong with it
@[email protected] Are you sure you've reloaded skin and everything and that you're using a skin that actually supports backgrounds?
[email protected]
Default skin, I suppose it supports backgrounds.
What I have loaded is only faces, logos and backgrounds. And for some reason only backgrounds doesn't work. Just reloaded skin - no changes. 😢
The default skin doesn't support them, try one of these https://sortitoutsi.net/football-manager-2023-skins

Thank you for your help!
I was sure that backgrounds works well for me in fm2022 with default skin…
I installed custom skin and now it works fine.

I thank you. I'll try as you said. Let's say that at this point it is also a bit confusing how the megapack is structured, not just the updates.

Is it possible to use the stadiums not as backgrounds but as stadium pictures?
Jallu
Hello,
Faces and logos have worked well, but these backgrounds doesn't appear at all in the game
You mean the aerial ones? There's a thread here that explains how to create a config file yourself https://sortitoutsi.net/content/60493/how-to-use-a-specific-part-of-the-megapack
So if you want to have the aerial stadium images in the place of the inside ones:
Set the little dot to background and stadium and the drag the “stadium_backgrounds” folder on to the app. Then open the config with notepad and press ctrl+h and replace “background” with “stadium” and press replace all.
Config lines need to look like this: <record from="xxxx" to="graphics/pictures/stadium/xxxx/stadium"/>
Are you using a skin that actually supports backgrounds? The default one does not, there is a list of FM23 skins here: https://sortitoutsi.net/football-manager-2023-skins
If that's not the problem, please post screenshots of what your backgrounds folder looks like

Evening,
Seems to be a problem downloading the pack. Folder empty when when I have extracted.
Which pack version exactly? And can you post a screenshot of what it looks like after extraction please
Monti1906
Guys,
After release, the whole backgrounds started working, although for some players it's literally unplayable. White background cover all of the sidebar. Please see screenshots:
How it is normally (Lewandowski) vs how it is with minor players (Turner)

I have a similar issue, I can't read anything on the side panel. Since the left side is not blurred by default, it's incredibly difficult to read.
And for player/club screens, the transparency is almost non-existent so there's no point in using the backgrounds as seen below:
I know you probably didn't make the pack for the default skin so there's not much you can do, but if someone from your team could edit the default skin to create a backgrounds-friendly version, it would be awesome. If not, still a great pack and I'll wait for a custom skin that I like. Thanks!

I have a folder of 45 missing player backgrounds. Can you advise on where to upload as the last 2 player backgorund mix packs I uploaded didn't upload properly.
Are you 100% sure they are all JPG? That was the problem for someone else that couldn't upload a pack

Hi everyone,
Probably a schoolboy error on my part but I can't seem to get background images appearing.
I'm using the Material Skin 2.0.23 and have downloaded all the background zip files and moved them to a “backgrounds” folder I created within the “graphics” folder. Screenshots attached. I've also followed the steps to refresh the graphics cache.
Thanks in advance for any insight.
According to the screenshot you only have the 2023.01 update pack of about 1,000 backgrounds?
These are the complete packs
SChen1973
Definitely downloaded all 5 full packs. 69000 files.
Then you probably have them mixed up within one another. The complete pack should be your ‘main' folder and then you need to apply the updates as explained below.
You should only have one folder for each background type.
Copy all of them
And then put them here
Then you need to delete the old config file and replace it with the one in the update pack.

Sorry, I obviously being slow. I've got all the _backgrounds folders under FM23>graphics\backgrounds:
And each of these folders has an images folder and a config.xml file:
Is this correct? Because it's still not working. Or I need to move the files from the images folders out into (in this example), the continent_backgrounds folder?
@SChen1973 No that's not necessary, it should work like this. Are you sure you've reloaded skin and everything?
