What's your source?

It sounds like complete horseshit.

Now we're stuck paying him wages for 9 months, should have cut him loose a long time ago. Not only is he always injured, he's shit when he is fully fit as well.

He'd be a good squad player if he could get a run of 10 games or so - unfortunately, that's never going to happen, so I agree that we should cut him loose. He's had plenty of chances already.

He should have been cut loose last summer. Wenger's far too fucking stubborn about these players.

I can understand why he'd want to give him time, the problem is that Wenger doesn't buy a replacement player in case this sort of thing happens - he just pins all of his hope on Diaby and when things go tits up, our midfield looks thin again. He's on around £60k p/w, and has played something like 34% of our games since he joined the club. Time to release him in the summer or at least buy someone new.

Anderson would rival that, probably.

Really? I know he's had injury problems but I can't imagine they come close to Diaby's.

Yeah, but Anderson is always seen as a squad player, whereas Diaby actually looks good when he plays.

Well, kind of. He was immense against Liverpool in the third game of the season but never came close to emulating that performance again. He's only able to play at a good level if he gets a good run of games, but that can't happen because he's never fit enough.

Samir Nasri's done an interview with BeIn Sport in France and he's had a few things to say about Arsenal - mostly good - the most interesting being about his departure:

I'm guessing deflecting blame from himself and all that.

Still, no smoke without fire.

I wouldn't trust Nasri implicitly but it sounds plausible, and it would certainly explain why he was quite so vociferous in trying to justify his move last year.

Kroenke was surely entitled to cash in, rather than lose him for nothing a year later.

Yeah, I don't buy it.

Even with Kroenke being Kroenke?

That part doesn't surprise me, and could well be true, I just don't buy any talk from Nasri that implies he was somehow forced out of Arsenal. He was prepared to run his contract down and was more than happy to sign for City on 2/3 times as much money that he was earning with us.

In that case, I agree with you. I would reject any claim that Nasri was entirely blameless (just as I would with any claim that Kroenke wouldn't push for a sale)

Aye, they're both cunts. Agreed.

John Cross is reporting that we have agreed a £170m kit deal with Puma (30m a season) which will be the biggest in English football. Huge if true, and John Cross is one of the most reliable journos when it comes to Arsenal.

Puma's a great make. They made Thistle's kits for the past few years and they've all been quality, if not a little risqué at times with the pink tops and whatnot.

That just proves there's still hope for us all.
