Who is Monaco Dzeko?

You know what I mean.

By Slashman X | Permalink | On 14 May 2013 - 16:42 PM
No, Dzeko has to go to Dortmund, I won't be able to afford flying to Monaco

Well the good news is, apparently they're more interested in Tevez than Dzeko.

If Moyes was to ideally take anyone from Everton to Man United with him, It'd have to be Fellaini... With Scholes retired, Giggs on the verge of his bus pass, Carrick hitting 32 years old and Anderson? You could do with him to replace them.

Yeah, Fellaini is probably the only central midfielder who can actually match and bully Yaya Toure when he's on form.

Yeah, I'd welcome him with open arms.

There's a lot of United fans that really don't want him though, I can't understand it.

I can't understand that either. He's exactly the sort of central-midfielder United need. You have a deep-lying playmaker in Michael Carrick, you have a more advanced playmaker in Shinji Kagawa, you have a jack of all trades in Tom Cleverly and you have a fat bastard in Anderson.

What you don't have is a physical, combative midfielder who can break up play and/or go box-to-box. He may not be the best choice but he's the most logical.

Yeah, I kind of get if people don't want Fellaini because they think there's a better cheaper option available and I'm not sure if he's necessarily the best value for money option available but far too many people don't want him because of the type of player he is. It's bizarre.

Baring in mind Phil bloody Jones has been our first choice midfielder at times, you'd have thought Fellaini would have been seen as a blessing by everyone.

Who do you think would be a better choice?

You've got to remember Fellaini is only 25, he'll be coming into his prime. He can play behind the striker, holding midfielder and box to box. You'd be getting your moneys worth. Could see him going for about £25/30mill...

McCarthy is a good player tbf, wouldn't be surprised if he moved to a big club this summer.

I'm not really sure, to be honest. I just assume that there are probably players available who would offer more value for money. I've seen Kevin Strootman linked to United for a couple of years now.

Sell Fellaini for ~£20m, get McCarthy relatively cheap, and still have quite a bit of money to spend on a striker?

I'd imagine a fair chunk of it would go to the bank..

You are getting your share of this TV deal. So its not impossible you'd be able to pay off your debt and buy some players this summer.

Everton shouldn't sell for a penny less than £25m. They bought him for £15m and he's established himself as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.

Could see Martinez going to Everton and taking McCarthy with him.

I'd like Fellaini but not played behind the striker.

Rooney about to commit his future to United according to the Times.

Sigh, if he gets another pay rise I'll be livid.

No chance the Glazers will pay him any more. £250k is already too much.

Spanish newspaper Sport has claimed we've agreed a deal of £18.7m with Real Madrid for Gonzalo Higuain. I'm sure it's bullshit but I'd love it to be true.

I doubt he's on 250k p/w basic but hes one of the best paid players in the world. 4th or 5th best apparently.

I'm not 100% sure tbh, I've seen estimates between £180-£250k but both the Times and the Guardian seem to favour the higher end of those estimates. Either way, he's not worth what he's being paid.

No one actually knows. The Guardian themselves have contradicted themselves time and again. They've given figures from 180k p/w to 300k.

Isn't 250k what he gets according to FM? I expect that's where most of these are basing it on.
