OK so after 1 season so far I've noticed the following problems. Teams don't relegate and promote into the correct regionalised league example 3 London teams were put into a northern league.
More bigger issue the same league randomly selects when teams finish on the same points. 3 teams ended on 77 but all had different goal difference and it was selected randomly who finished where

Sorry if this has been answered already, but I had the “England greyed out” issue yesterday as well. I fixed it by removing my “home” league from the list of playable leagues and was then able to select England.
I do have a question: are the squads accurate? I've chosen an obscure lvl 10 team as it is my housemate's ancestral home's local team, and when I look online their current players list doesn't match what I'm seeing in-game.

This didn't work for me - England was greyed out even though I chose the “original” game mode. I've posted earlier, but I got around this by removing my “home” country's league from the options to play and England became available.

Do the clubs have the proper badges on this database ? if not where can i get them ? thanks

If you have the default game images, they'll show as normal still. And if you've downloaded any packs, they'll also show once they've been installed correctly.
There's many logo packs in the downloads section here, just head over and search the FM2024 Essentials section as there's many choices to really enhance the game with logos, kits, and so on and all the tutorials/instructions needed.
