General query I hope someone can help with.

when you load FM24, there are licensed kits already populated in the game. When I add other kit pics for teams that do not have a kit, I lose the licensed kits.

Is there a way to keep the originals in as well as adding kits?

Same for me. Actually, the XML file is done badly. It is written as if kits were sorted in three different folders (home, away and third) but it actually isn't. So, the game can't find the actual kits, since they aren't organized as written in the config.xml. Is there any correction planned for the future? 

Could you post a screenshot of the config in question? what exactly did you download?

As you can see on the screenshot, the visuals aren't sorted in the folder as they should be, according to the xml file. The xml file says that visuals should be listed per folders of team, folders of home, away, third, etc. Am I wrong? In any case, this pack doesn't work at my place and a lot of clubs don't have their kits.

Well there is nothing wrong with the config. The away, home, and third part of the config line is so the game know where to put the file in game… nothing to do with the folder the images are in. Where have you put the folder? are you sure you got the full file (check to see if the kits missing in game also have a image in the folder)

Ok, that's great to read. I put it in the folder kits (that I created) inside the graphics' one. I think I do since I downloaded the megapack, as you can see with the link I shared in my last post in our conversation.
There's still a problem though: for instance, the whole Scottish football league is under license in FM24, so the kits are initially the real ones in the game (without any add-on). But when I put the SS kits megapack in the kits folder, almost none of the Scottish football league teams keep their initial kits: they actually get a standard kit, as for the teams without license in the game. You'll see an example with Dundee in attachments of this post. Can you see where the problem is?
It goes the same for Japan teams, German ones, etc. All the licensed leagues, at the end of the day.

I am another who has come across this issue after installing the kits today. The already licensed teams no longer have their kits, I noticed because I am managing FC Gifu in Japan and they had kits before downloading this pack. 

@Footygamer Some complaints about licensed kits disappearing after applying SS' kits mega pack in this thread. I know it is an issue, but I don't know why and if it is something we are working on or planing to fix at all 🤷‍♂️

I actually found out why!

The thing is that you guys let the lines in the config.xml for the clubs already having a kit in the initial version of the game (thanks to the licensed leagues and teams), without providing the kit visual file in the pack's folder. I assume you took the FM 23 config.xml that you've created last year and pasted it, without adding the new kits corresponding, inside the FM 24 kits pack. You'll find an example of what I'm trying to explain here in attachments. I use the same example from my last posts with Dundee (ID: 1555).

As you can see in the screenshot attached, the only “1555” to be found in the pack's folder is in the .xml file.

In a nutshell: There is no kit visual file provided for this club inside the pack's folder, but its ID is listed in the .xml file as if there actually was one.
 

I'm taking the opportunity here to give my apologies for the last enquiries: it was my mistake, I didn't read the .xml file as it should have been read and I said some false statements (such as declaring that the file was done badly, whereas I was reading it badly). Yes this is an issue of trying to make everyone happy.

One of the requests for the megapacks was that you could combine all the packs together so that you always had the latest kit even if it wasn't from this year (e.g. if the last Roma kit was from 2021 it would use that one) without having separate folders that wasted disk space, so the config contains all the lines for all the teams we have.

But the result of this is if you download fm24 only it will overwrite the licensed kits.

Someone else said they don't care because the licensed kits are Standard Kits not SS but obviously that's not true for everyone.

Basically it's hard to make the pack perfect for everyone.

I think what I will do is make the config.xml only include shirts that are actually in that pack and include all_config.xml which contains previous years for people that want to use it and they just need to rename that file if that's what they want.

Probably a noob question but how do you install the changes pack? Simply place it in the same folder as the original?

you copy the kits and config file from the changes folder into the megapack folder already on your computer and make sure you replace any files it says already exist.

I don't understand, I installed the pack in the graphics folder, and I did what was necessary in the preferences, but the kits still don't appear?

Finally, I only have the liga and 1ere ligue kits...

I apologise in advance if this question has  already been answered before but when I downloaded and extracted Complete SS'  kit pack for FM 24  I saw some 3D Kits in there.  I already have 3D kits installed from the 3D kit thread so I'm not sure if this is some sort of error or is it supposed be like this ?

So I have an issue with Man City kits, the club overview shows the SS Kit fine but in the match overview it displays the default kit…any ideas how to fix this?

upd. only home kit in epl is default (both 2d and 3d). ucl, cups are fine.

@bolid74  Do you know why the Chelsea kit wouldn't be showing as in the attached photo? It has worked on some other matches Iven played but for some others it doesn't appear.. any ideas? Chelsea is the only kit that doesn't work, all others are fine. Many Thanks for your help
