This file will need to be re-applied if/when official patches/updates are released to ensure full compatibility. This is due to the fact that some files which are removed when installing this file are automatically re-installed by Steam when official patches come out.
Some of these changes, ESPECIALLY THE CLUB NAMES, do NOT apply in existing save-games. There's a workaround for that in the first post.
The sortitoutsi real names fix changes the instances of fake names in Football Manager 2024 to the proper, real life names for awards, cities, stadiums and competitions, in cases where the actual name is not licensed, such as Premier League displaying instead of Premier Division. It will also fix the fact that the German National team doesn't call up real players. These fixes are all fully save-game compatible.
There is also a club name changes file, which changes the names of clubs in a way which ensures that any nicknames entered in the default database are retained. This file includes the proper names for Brazilian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian (including Napoli) and French clubs, as well as Manchester Utd, to circumvent licensing restrictions. It also adds real-life media and journalists, encompassing most major footballing nations and continents. Brazilian clubs' text colours are also changed through an editor data file. Another editor data file creates the Ajax non-playing staff missing from the database due to licensing restrictions. Finally, it includes a small file which corrects the 3-Letter competition names to correspond with any changes made in the lnc files. For all the files in this paragraph to work, however, you will need to start a new game.

This should be what your editor data folder looks like now. There may initially be a config.xml file in this folder and it can be safely overwritten; it is generated by FM every time the game starts.
To make sure the files have been applied correctly, go to English Premier Division in your saved game, and it should be renamed to Premier League. If you are in the middle of a save-game when you install this download, German national teams will be populated in the next instance that players are called up, and not immediately.
Club names are only changed if you apply the editor data files before starting a new game. For a workaround if you've already started a new save-game, then please read the opening post of this thread.

It's true there is an entry in the lnc file without the diacritic, but there's also one further down in the same file with it, as well as in the editor data file, so this actually already displays correctly in-game. I've removed the surplus line from the file for the avoidance of doubt đ

You will notice that I changed the names in the file from last year, following your feedback. It is however a bit confusing (to the common user) for the lower-division team to be named as Frankfurt, and not the Bundesliga team from the same city. As a compromise, I have given the short name for both to be the same as the long name, so there is no doubt which is which.
And to be honest, providing a matchday programme from 56 years ago by way of evidence is not necessarily a reflection of the modern-day situationâŠ

I know this is mostly focused around competitions and clubs, but is there any way that currency name can be manipulated. I can add a new currency and set the exchange rate, but I can't name it so I'm wondering if it can be done either through this or through some other kind of workaround. At the moment it just does the thing where you type anything and it reverts back to default (or blank if it's new)

a) thatâs perfectly fine with me either way, i just pointed out the inconsistency in the naming scheme â the majority of the other clubs have basically their full name in the âshort nameâ entry without the NK (croatian for FC), except for croatia Äakovo and one or two others.
b) as to eintracht, i did post the clubâs official web presence, too â the url is as clear as it gets.
to be honest, i donât recall when the rechristening caught on, it has mostly been pushed by british media. in germany, itâs common to refer to clubs with the city they represent, with munich being the notable exception, who has successfully managed to brand itself as âbayernâ. i understand that it may be confusing, but those are the correct short names for the two respective clubs, and itâs actually confusing to locals like me when eintracht is referred to as "frankfurt" only, knowing that there is another club with that name actually â two as a matter of fact: 1. fc frankfurt

regarding the croatian lower leagues, fm lumps clubs from different leagues of the county into their respective game »regional league«.
do you want the name of the highest league in each county (in which many of these clubs don't play) or the generic term for the respective league, which would better reflect si's decision? let me know.
on another note, i don't play the game - too busy working on graphics add-ons for the game, which means i can't verify/check stuff in-game, only in the lnc files.

on the other hand, those are the actual and mostly official league names - if you applied this to all the leagues across the game, there wouldnât be much »football« left in there (english football league, anyone?) and weâd be in fictional name territory again. đ there are also other sports leagues which carry a league name without the »football« part, thatâs another issue. of course, basketball, handball et al arenât in a game called »football manager«, but still. over time, youâll notice iâm a completist generously feeding my ocd pet and obsession over minute details. đ

Mondiale isn't the exact term used in Italian, which I speak. Both terms are in fact used in the Gazzetta article you linked to, in fact. I'm happy with Mondiale as it stands.

you mean youâre happy with »mondiali« đ - »mondiale« was my change suggestion, hehe. the gazzetta header was a bit inept in that regard, they used mondiali in reference to more than one wc (both national team and club), but itâs fine with me either way. đ
as to san marino, they have only one tier now for »regular« football:

Ah, I see where the confusion on this one was. 43032015 is the UID of the Sanmarinese top tier. The A2 competition has the UID of 60024420.
I don't think renaming international comps in Spanish too is warranted tbph, but if you want to give it a go - just type the codes you want to add, for me to copy-paste them into the right place đ

i downloaded it and the leagues have updated but teams like man united and napoli haven't. is there a fix for that?
