This file will need to be re-applied if/when official patches/updates are released to ensure full compatibility. This is due to the fact that some files which are removed when installing this file are automatically re-installed by Steam when official patches come out.
Some of these changes, ESPECIALLY THE CLUB NAMES, do NOT apply in existing save-games. There's a workaround for that in the first post.
The sortitoutsi real names fix changes the instances of fake names in Football Manager 2024 to the proper, real life names for awards, cities, stadiums and competitions, in cases where the actual name is not licensed, such as Premier League displaying instead of Premier Division. It will also fix the fact that the German National team doesn't call up real players. These fixes are all fully save-game compatible.
The following are not included in the beta version of this file. There is also a club name changes file, which changes the names of clubs in a way which ensures that any nicknames entered in the default database are retained. This file includes the proper names for Brazilian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian (including Napoli) and French clubs, as well as Manchester Utd, to circumvent licensing restrictions. It also adds real-life media and journalists, encompassing most major footballing nations and continents. Brazilian clubs' text colours are also changed through an editor data file. Another editor data file creates the Ajax non-playing staff missing from the database due to licensing restrictions. Finally, it includes a small file which corrects the 3-Letter competition names to correspond with any changes made in the lnc files. For all the files in this paragraph to work, however, you will need to start a new game.

The easiest way to get to these folders is by going to Finder > Go > Go to Folder and copy and paste these exact paths and you will be taken to the right places ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Football Manager 2024/data/database/db/2400/
Alternatively you can get to the Library folder by simply selecting Go from the top bar and holding "alt" key - The Library folder suddenly appears on the drop down menu

This should be what your editor data folder looks like now. There may initially be a config.xml file in this folder and it can be safely overwritten; it is generated by FM every time the game starts.
To make sure the files have been applied correctly, go to English Premier Division in your saved game, and it should be renamed to Premier League. If you are in the middle of a save-game when you install this download, German national teams will be populated in the next instance that players are called up, and not immediately.
Club names are only changed if you apply the editor data files before starting a new game. For a workaround if you've already started a new save-game, then please read the opening post of this thread.

is a general issue or what? i dont understand why for the first time after lot of years i have this bug in game. look these pictures: first one in premier the name is emirates. in the second one the name is arsenal stadium.

I already explained it's a licensing issue related to how sponsored stadiums display in European competitions and which cannot be changed. There's not much else to say.

It's true there is an entry in the lnc file without the diacritic, but there's also one further down in the same file with it, as well as in the editor data file, so this actually already displays correctly in-game. I've removed the surplus line from the file for the avoidance of doubt 😉

You will notice that I changed the names in the file from last year, following your feedback. It is however a bit confusing (to the common user) for the lower-division team to be named as Frankfurt, and not the Bundesliga team from the same city. As a compromise, I have given the short name for both to be the same as the long name, so there is no doubt which is which.
And to be honest, providing a matchday programme from 56 years ago by way of evidence is not necessarily a reflection of the modern-day situation…

I know this is mostly focused around competitions and clubs, but is there any way that currency name can be manipulated. I can add a new currency and set the exchange rate, but I can't name it so I'm wondering if it can be done either through this or through some other kind of workaround. At the moment it just does the thing where you type anything and it reverts back to default (or blank if it's new)

a) that’s perfectly fine with me either way, i just pointed out the inconsistency in the naming scheme – the majority of the other clubs have basically their full name in the “short name” entry without the NK (croatian for FC), except for croatia đakovo and one or two others.
b) as to eintracht, i did post the club’s official web presence, too – the url is as clear as it gets.
to be honest, i don’t recall when the rechristening caught on, it has mostly been pushed by british media. in germany, it’s common to refer to clubs with the city they represent, with munich being the notable exception, who has successfully managed to brand itself as “bayern”. i understand that it may be confusing, but those are the correct short names for the two respective clubs, and it’s actually confusing to locals like me when eintracht is referred to as "frankfurt" only, knowing that there is another club with that name actually – two as a matter of fact: 1. fc frankfurt

a club who had its heyday in the former gdr, it’s even a different city in eastern germany. there is a bizarre episode with a benfica fan who wanted to attend a europa league match between benfica and eintracht, but ended up in frankfurt (oder) … of course he should have done his research before setting off, but it’s a case in point how detrimental incorrect naming can be:

regarding the croatian lower leagues, fm lumps clubs from different leagues of the county into their respective game »regional league«.
do you want the name of the highest league in each county (in which many of these clubs don't play) or the generic term for the respective league, which would better reflect si's decision? let me know.
on another note, i don't play the game - too busy working on graphics add-ons for the game, which means i can't verify/check stuff in-game, only in the lnc files.

oh, don’t get me started on that, sometimes i wonder if people take a moment to think what the initials actually stand for when they decide on names …
on the other hand, those are the actual and mostly official league names - if you applied this to all the leagues across the game, there wouldn’t be much »football« left in there (english football league, anyone?) and we’d be in fictional name territory again. 😁 there are also other sports leagues which carry a league name without the »football« part, that’s another issue. of course, basketball, handball et al aren’t in a game called »football manager«, but still. over time, you’ll notice i’m a completist generously feeding my ocd pet and obsession over minute details. 💀
but either way, they’re just suggestions for correcting name entries, you decide which to pick and which to leave out.

you mean you’re happy with »mondiali« 😂 - »mondiale« was my change suggestion, hehe. the gazzetta header was a bit inept in that regard, they used mondiali in reference to more than one wc (both national team and club), but it’s fine with me either way. 👍
as to san marino, they have only one tier now for »regular« football:

Ah, I see where the confusion on this one was. 43032015 is the UID of the Sanmarinese top tier. The A2 competition has the UID of 60024420.
I don't think renaming international comps in Spanish too is warranted tbph, but if you want to give it a go - just type the codes you want to add, for me to copy-paste them into the right place 👍
