Frequently Asked Questions

If you've never downloaded the pack before, you should just download the larger "complete pack".

If you're not a premium member, it is recommended that you download the base megapack via torrent by going to our cut-out megapack download page. After which, you should then download all the update packs released to date and apply them chronologically.

If you're a premium member, just download the most recent complete pack.

If you already have a version of our Cut-Out Faces Megapack installed, then click "Download Latest Changes" and you'll be presented with a list of all the updates we've released since you've last downloaded a file. Simply download any you might have missed, applying the oldest first and continuing to apply update packs in the chronological order in which they were released.
Watch this YouTube tutorial video, which should you guide you on the steps you need to follow to install it. You need to use Winrar (or a similar program) to extract the downloaded file.

Contrary to previous versions of the game, there is no need to change any settings in the preferences in FM26.
You need to copy and overwrite the faces and the new config file from the update pack into the faces folder.

If done correctly, you should be asked if you want to overwrite files – accept. You should have one folder for faces and another folder for iconfaces, and no sub-folder whatsoever in them.

These steps are to be repeated for every update pack downloaded, and they are to be installed chronologically.

Watch this YouTube tutorial video, which should you guide you on the steps you need to follow to install it. It might be for FM24, but the steps are exactly the same.
It's a known issue with FM26 - read this. We're assuming this issue will get resolved in upcoming official patches/updates.
The new players were added before FM26 was released and didn't have the right UID yet. We've started the process of mapping them to the correct person's UID.
When you have a blank space instead of a cut-out, it means there is a config file pointing to a folder in which an image with that UID is not present. This generally happens when an update pack is installed in a separate folder and not part of the overall faces folder, or there is a rogue config file somewhere. It could also be that you have somehow not downloaded the full megapack but only part of it. Search within the graphics folder for the UID of this person, and you will probably find the secondary image. Delete that folder, and it should be fine.

Otherwise, follow the steps in this comment and post the results so that we can assist you.
In line with guidance on the official SI forums, At present, FM26 cannot handle multiple files with the same name. For example, if you have two files with the name "kit.png", it will not load both. and Player Faces: These work fine. You do not need the icon files anymore, and they can cause issues with the note above. Delete them.

As a result, the iconfaces are no longer available for download because they're not needed. You should also delete the iconfaces folder manually from your system too 👍
You need to change your user data location. Simple steps on how to do so can be found here.

It is recommended that the user data location is not placed within the Steam installation folder as this may cause issues.
The torrent file includes the base megapack uploaded just before that year’s FM version is released. Any and all subsequent update packs are to be downloaded separately.
For those who have never used torrents, in the vast majority of cases, it's just a question of downloading the client program (a small file, less than 1MB) and then downloading the megapack torrent file (a tiny file, around 20k) and then letting the program do the job.

Torrent files need a torrent client to be downloaded. I personally use µTorrent but other common clients are BitTorrent, Vuze and Deluge. For those using torrents for the first time, here is a general walk-through on how to download torrents and a specific guide for µTorrent.

Be aware that it will take a substantial amount of time to download the file due to its sheer size and that other people depend on you hosting the file to get it so please leave your torrent client on after you have fully downloaded it. The etiquette is generally accepted to be to upload as much as you download, although this might not always be possible. The older the torrent file, the less likely it is that there will still be users seeding it.
Please report this so that they can be reuploaded. Since the files are hosted outside our pages, there isn't much we can do about this unfortunately. You could try downloading the pack via torrent and get it this way.
Extracting the file will take a while, but it shouldn't take the hours and hours that the program extracting will sometimes say it will. To speed it up, it is recommended that you have as few programs running as possible so that the system can dedicate as many resources to the extraction as it possibly can.

Secondly, for files as large as this, the calculation of the extraction time will be wildly incorrect at the start. After a while, it'll show a more realistic timeframe, which shouldn't be more than an hour or two if you have a good setup and few programs running at the same time.
You might have a poor internet connection or your browser might have some extensions which interrupt this download. Having loads of downloads ongoing and/or streaming may also de-prioritise this download.

Try using Google Chrome in incognito mode (or the equivalent mode for other browsers) and you should be able to resume the download from the point it was interrupted, if that happens.
The most recent update pack will include the most recent config file, so you can choose to download it and use it from there.

Alternatively, you can download fmXML and generate a config yourself. There's a video on YouTube on how to use it but it's really easy and the instructions are quite straight-forward.
Down the years, after an update pack was released, it was noted that some images included therein where of the wrong person, with a wrong extension or duplicated. Due to the way the download system is structured, these cannot be removed from the download, so there may well be a couple of hundred images’ worth of difference, depending on the version you download.
Our megapack covers 25,000 teams and it's impossible to cater for these kind of requests since players and staff get transferred or sacked or retire etc and recreating and reuploading 25,000 different smaller packs would be an impossible task. That's why we have all the images in a megapack so that everything is captured therein.
These persons do not appear in the default database for licensing reasons. This means that they only appear in your save-game because they were added via a custom file, generally the real name fix file. However, this means that their UID (which is what is used to map a person's image to the right individual) is different, and so the game cannot assign the image to them from your existing facepack.

To get them to show, you should individually download any previously available cut-out faces from here (or use the UID to find them in your existing facepack if you don't use the cut-out megapack), put them in a separate folder to your existing facepack and create a config file just for them using the method outlined in here (which works for all facepack styles, not just the cut-out megapack).

What screen is that, also what is the UID for that person.

If the screenshot is your manager profile then you have to self assign an image.

The faces seems to be a skin issue?

Have you followed the steps when installing graphics by unticking cache files and reload skin etc.

Are the files in the correct folder structure and extracted not left in the zip/rar doc.

It's to do with the method of compression for the cuts in the most recent versions of the megapack, which for some reasons older versions of FM don't display correctly.

How large is the size of the file you've downloaded? Also, what program are you using to extract it?

The complete file which is 11.6 GB. I'm using 7-Zip.

I'm also trying to play off my external hard-drive as I don't have space on my computer, which I think may be the main problem but I don't know how to work around it.

Transfer the file to the external hard-drive, and use Winrar to extract it to a folder anywhere in that location. You should then change the user data folder as per the FAQ at the top of this thread 👍

You downloaded a couple of update packs a few days ago. I suspect you didn't install them properly. You should have one folder for faces and one folder for iconfaces, with no sub-folders in each folder.

Can I have screenshots of your megapack folder, showing clearly the full path it’s located in, as well as of how many files and folders are inside it?

Yeah, when I try to transfer it to the external hard-drive, it says there's not space despite there being 400GB of space.

I then managed to transfer it over by splitting the file and extracted it from there, but still came up with these errors. I've already changed the user data folder yeah.

You've got around one-eighth of the faces in the megapack. I'd suggest removing your existing faces folder, and downloading the torrent and the subsequent update packs to be up to date.

Not sure it's got anything to do with the megapack then 😕

Instead of transferring the downloaded file to the external hard drive, have you tried extracting it to there instead?

Yes I have, get the same error.

Weirdly, I've deleted some of the 40,000 files that have transferred and then am able to manually copy over handfuls of files that were erroring otherwise. Huge ball-ache though. What would be helpful is - are these player face codes organised by league or country or any sort of way? And any chance of sharing what those are? Then I can delete the ones I don't want and the ones I do should then be able to avoid the error message!

I'm afraid not - the only way to categorise them in any way for the time being would be manually, which is simply not possible for nigh-on half a million people.

a) You're showing me what's in your graphics \ pictures folder. Is there anything else in your graphics folder?

b) There's a folder named faces, and another named players. What's in the latter one?

c) Are you getting an empty space where the player image should be in-game, or are you getting the black default silhouette?

i've solved making a new config files, thanks for the support given!

I had previously downloaded the megapack, but ended up getting the updates, now, some players, instead of having the black silhouette, just have nothing on their picture, is there anything I can do to fix this? (Either get the silhouette back or give the players an actual face)
(Yamal is an example of this happening)

You've installed the update pack in a separate folder, which you shouldn't do. You should have one folder containing all the faces within it, and when downloading an update pack you should put the contents into the main folder, overwriting when prompted.

I did though, installed it exactly in the same folder as the regular megapack, overwriting when I was asked to do so.

Edit: Not sure exactly what was happening, but I just reinstalled in the exact same folder and it worked, so I don't even know. Thank you either way

You'd have to generate separate config files for the contents of each respective folder, which is too much of a hassle, frankly, when you can have everything in one place.

What does that entail? I'm guessing not just copy+paste. My silly hard drive won't let me have it all in one place 😢

I`m fairly new to the FM scene having just started last year. I recently downloaded FM24 and installed a skinpack and player face pack after seeing WorkTheSpace`s tutorials on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=roEsIVWvFiA&t=398s and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KdGD9br8_8M&t=501s).

After following the tutorial and downloading both the Mega Face Pack and WTCS5 skin, everything worked fine, but I immediatley noticed that quite a few playerfaces were appearing as blank. I have tried alot of stuff to fix the problem such as re-downloading the facepack multiple times, but to no avail.

Help would be much appreciated!

For example Barcelona players faces missing
Sergi Robero and Lamine Yamal`s faces not appearing
Kevin De Bruyne`s face missing
