I'm not sure it's the right size, because cuts should be either in 180x180 or 250x250. You can easily resize this, naturally.

Also, we want cuts to be cropped within 2-3 pixels of the chin, while still having a collar. In cases like this, the collar should be nudged upwards as shown in the tutorial in the opening post.

Thirdly, this seems a bit on the small side. One should check the person's timeline, because if they already have a cut which is recent, similar and in 250x250, then a 180x180 cut is unlikely to be considered an improvement, and therefore hardly worth cutting.

@mons Did the image get better?

It's cropped just a little bit less than ideal - you should keep the bottom bit of the facial hair included. It's also missing the collar.

Better, though now it's slightly cropped too further down.

The blue line is where I'd crop it 🙂

Selected two pictures of one player, and cutted them.
Not sure which one is better.

It'd be good to have the original sources, because it helps us to understand if the eventual cut is actually any good. Also, unless I'm mistaken, I suspect you've used an AI image enlarger.

As a rule of thumb, using an AI image enlarger just “guesses” what certain pixels should look like when you make the image larger, and the result looks blurry/out of focus on certain details, with unrealistically smoothened skin, and unnatural looking hair/beard/eye/teeth details.

@mons say you had a picture with a double chin, are we taking it from the lowest one or the highest one? Assuming its the lowest.

I'd prefer the lower one, yeah. Also, in that case, there is a video in the main post on an easy method to remove the green reflecting in his chins.

I think the first source is the best of the 3 tbh 🙂

Here are another set of pictures that I am not sure which one is better.  Both of them is relatively clear, but one of them is from 10 years ago, and another one is with a cap…

I'd usually prefer to avoid the image with the cap, but I still think it's better than a 10 year old image.

Is this picture okay or there is too much snow on hairs?  I kept the background black on purpose, so you guys could see it clearly.

(Not sure if that counts as snow)

A much better cut 👏

There are two ways you can deal with snow:

a) Put it through remove.bg so that it removes at least some of it

b) Use the tutorial from the first post to remove the remaining snow

I found a couple of pictures of a Taiwanese goalkeeper and I am not sure which one shoud be the best one.
I would also like to know a bit about the priotiy of chosing photos when an offcial profile photo is not available for players ( coaches, refugees etc.)

None are really ideal, and in cases like that it's up to the cutter to decide which image is best to use. We aim to have the person looking at the camera, and ideally avoiding action images, but beggars can't be choosers. I'd say the first or the last one, but he seems to be a fair bit younger in the last one.
