Tamworth FC, affectionately known as "The Lambs," takes its name from the historic Lamb Inn Pub that once welcomed fans at the entrance to their car park. This club still play on a 3G pitch and has yet to break into the Football League. Their most notable achievements came between 2003 and 2014, when they consistently found themselves in the lower half of the Conference, battling for survival rather than glory.
After a triumphant season last year, where they clinched the Northern Conference title, Tamworth is now just one step away from the Football League. However, the odds are stacked against them; Football Manager has them predicted to finish rock bottom, with a daunting 450-1. Yet, come January, they’ve surprised everyone with a stellar season, sitting in 13th place, just 8 points shy of the playoffs and 6 points clear of relegation.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to lead these Midland minnows to the Football League for the very first time. But there’s an extra layer of complexity to your challenge. Despite their unexpected league standing, not a single player has managed to achieve an average rating of 7 or above. Your task is not only to secure results but also to unlock the potential within your squad and elevate individual performances. Achieve promotion and you'll earn a bronze medal, but to claim the silver and gold, you’ll need to get at least 3 or 6 of your players to hit that elusive average rating of 7 or higher by the season’s end. The road ahead is tough, but with your leadership, the Lambs could finally realise their dream!
Points Scoring
Bronze 🥉 - 2 points - Win Promotion

Gold 🥇 - 5 points - Win Promotion and get at least 6 players with a 7 or above rating
Rules
- You must use the manager already in the save file. You cannot create a new manager. This so that all managers have the same attributes and experience.
- You cannot create any new managers.
- You cannot save before a match and then reload.
- You must have at most one weekly auto save. More saves than this will be deemed suspicious.
- You cannot use the in game editor or any other editor.
How it works
Every week we will release a new FM24 Challenge.
Each challenge is designed to be quick to play. Usually half a season or less.
Complete the challenge to score points and be in with a chance to win prizes.
You do not have to complete the challenge that week. Each challenge will remain open until FM25 BETA is released.
All you have to do is play FM for a few hours and then submit a few screenshots of how you got on. Easy right?
Point Scoring
The scoring system works the same as the Olympics. You have the chance to win Gold, Silver or Bronze. Fail to make it to Europe? You won't get a medal and will score 0 points.
Gold 🥇 - 5 points
Silver🥈 - 3 points
Bronze 🥉 - 2 points
These points will take you on to the Overall Leaderboard. Each week we will release a new FM24 Challenge giving you more chances to win Gold, Silver and Bronze and total up your overall points.
Each Challenge has its own leaderboard. Since lots of people will inevitably win gold there are a series of tie breakers to decide your position.
Tie Breakers
- Total Points won (3 for win, 1 draw, 0 for loss)
- Total Games Won
- Total Goal Difference
- Total Goals Scored
- Total Chances Created
- Total Average Possession
God help me if we actually get to Total Average Possession as a tie breaker, i'll make something else up at the time.
Prizes
Overall Winner = A copy of Football Manager 2025
Weekly Challenge Winner = Premium Membership
The winner will be chosen before the FM25 BETA is released so the winner can play FM25 straight away. We do not know the date for this yet. If the date is given as something vague like “Roughly 2 weeks before full release date” we will conservatively announce the winner the Saturday before 2 weeks. I know this is vague but we will get given an official announcement by SI soon and this text will be updated and made clearer.
How to install
The download is a .fm file which is an FM Save Game.
Option 1) When you open FM and click “Load Game” and click “browse” in the top right hand corner. Then find where you saved the file, probably your downloads folder.
Option 2) Move the file to your default saved game folder, it should then appear when clicking “Load Game”. The location is:
Windows: Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2024/editor data
Mac: /Users/<yourname>/Library/Application Support/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2024/games
On mac you may find it easier to Open Finder > Click Go in the toolbar > Go to folder > Paste this “~/Library/Application Support/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2024/games”

Of course I did, despite a riot in the middle because someone stole my left carrilero and I repositioned a left wing in my squad son this causes a general rebellion (¿?¿?¿?¿?) and a draw in the beginning… but yeahaaaaaaaa, I'm a masteeeerrrrrr!!!!
I have experienced problems before matches in terms of the game deleting my selection before playing, does anyone have this problem too often as me?
Thank uuuuuuu!

11.5 hours later, I can submit my go. Couldn't have done it at all without one thing I actually had no clue about. I've played a lot of FM over the years, but never have I ever heard of a ‘Work Experience' loan. A free loan! I've never heard about that before. Crazy. Got this guy from Wolves, and a GK from Villa. Did the mistake of sending back a loanee (tried to cheese it to get one more player on loan - but it didn't work). Worked out well in the end anyway. It was the shit winger, wouldn't even have played him. Relied yet again on set pieces, as we scored 30 goals from them in half a season.
Loved this challenge, but it took some time. Was defo worth it though in my book. I am always open to send my save file if someone wants it.
Take care, Axe out.

A bit of trivia:
Tamworth FC play at The Lamb Ground. The name doesn’t come from their nickname but instead from the original function of the land, which was previously occupied by a local slaughterhouse and livestock market. The name "The Lamb Ground" stuck even after the land was repurposed for football.

A little jaded and could do with a rest!
