Chesterfield at home is our first game of the season. Fairly happy with that. High attendance hopefully. Also we're playing Hartlepool away on new years eve. Not many will be making this trip, I guess

Chairman Stewart Day also confirmed he's paying for supporter coaches for our trip to Portsmouth in October. Top notch!

Away to Nottingham Forest is a bugger as we always have a disaster at the City Ground (though we can't do much worse than last time). Then home to Queens Park Rangers isn't. Quite fancy us to take 3 points off that lot.

Sold David Worrall to Rotherham for an undisclosed fee. That leaves us with 6 senior players and we're playing a Euro League side in about two weeks

Jack Mackreth has turned down Grimsby to sign a new deal with us which is very good news. Chris Holroyd has also re-joined us on a free transfer after he was released from Morecambe. With them two signing, we have about six players signed up for next season- just need the rest of them to either leave or sign a new deal now.

We need 100k by the end of August or we will have to go part time.

So we've signed Dale Jennings and Chris O'Grady. Sounds like another signing may join tomorrow.

Justicar - we keep getting linked with Stead recently. He's always played well against us but his goal record is pretty poor. Thoughts?

Will play his absolute heart out for the team. One of the few that has done for us the last few seasons. Won't score lots of goals but his work-rate is high.

He's easily championship standard, his injury was one of the reasons we capitulated so easy.

Can anyone advise on Calvin Zola? We signed him this week from Burton Albion... Will he be any use?

Too good for league two for sure, probably league one as well. Played well against us but that wasn't hard to be fair so I couldn't give you a proper analysis.

Surprise move if you ask me. Was linked with us and though he would be a good signing. Didn't see too much of him last season apart from the play-off games against Bradford where he was just far too good for L2.

Well I shall eagerly anticipate him and Niall McGinn forming a good partnership up front then.

We're meant to be getting in this Óscar chap. Used to play for Barcelona. He has had one season in professional management in which he led Maccabi Tel Aviv to their first championship in 10 years then left because Israel.

Good. The BBC have completely stitched us up and made us look like a complete joke. Now, I have no idea why we decided to announce the decision before he was due to be on TV. Maybe he threatened to release some details the club didn't want released? Maybe he threatened to announce he had been sacked before the club did? No idea. The only thing we do know about this whole thing is the statement from the club. The first line of the statement reads:

Gus Poyet has been informed today by Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club's internal disciplinary panel that his employment has been terminated with immediate effect.

This was posted an hour before he was on TV. Why they couldn't have done this earlier in the day or waited until tomorrow, I couldn't say. But there we are.

Misconduct and breach of contract. So no, but something serious. They didn't sack him after all, this has been going on for about a month. They've held tribunals and all sorts. It's all been done by the book.

I reckon he was the one who shat all over the dressing room, but tried to deflect any suspicion by denouncing the act himself, Crafty rascal.

Welcome home, Jon Stead.

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BNih4zNCEAExr1Y.jpg

And hello again, Adam Hammill.

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BNjAZi5CcAAJMAd.jpg

Two good signings. God only knows why Wolves let Hammill go without really giving him a chance. Clearly has talent, even if he's frustratingly inconsistent. Steady, we know all about, and it's great to see him back where he belongs. Going on his wife's Twitter feed, it's where he's wanted to be for some time - home.

24 trialists, from four different continents and 16 different nations at the club at the moment and another still on the route from Brazil to Gigg Lane.

It's like the bloody UNO has sent a delegation to Bury.

Another good, solid signing! Martin Paterson joins from Burnley after turning down a new contract. Can see him being a no.10 to Stead's 9.

Ah yes, Christian Dibble large ginger bloke and Andy Dibble's son. Wales Under-19 goalkeeper. Not been into youth/reserves football for too much last season, but many who actually go to these games say he is not that much of a big deal and is a bit dodgy so not many of ours were actually sad when the move was confirmed. I believe he was on loan at Warrington Town last season. Don't know what division they are playing in, probably NPL Premier or something like that and their fans didn't rate him either.

That's about all info I have
