Frequently Asked Questions

If you've never downloaded the pack before, you should just download the larger "complete pack".

If you're not a premium member, it is recommended that you download the base megapack via torrent by going to our cut-out megapack download page. After which, you should then download all the update packs released to date and apply them chronologically.

If you're a premium member, just download the most recent complete pack.

If you already have a version of our Cut-Out Faces Megapack installed, then click "Download Latest Changes" and you'll be presented with a list of all the updates we've released since you've last downloaded a file. Simply download any you might have missed, applying the oldest first and continuing to apply update packs in the chronological order in which they were released.
Watch this YouTube tutorial video, which should you guide you on the steps you need to follow to install it. You need to use Winrar (or a similar program) to extract the downloaded file.

Contrary to previous versions of the game, there is no need to change any settings in the preferences in FM26.
You need to copy and overwrite the faces and the new config file from the update pack into the faces folder.

If done correctly, you should be asked if you want to overwrite files – accept. You should have one folder for faces and another folder for iconfaces, and no sub-folder whatsoever in them.

These steps are to be repeated for every update pack downloaded, and they are to be installed chronologically.

It's a known issue with FM26 - read this. We're assuming this issue will get resolved in upcoming official patches/updates.
The new players were added before FM26 was released and didn't have the right UID yet. We've started the process of mapping them to the correct person's UID.
When you have a blank space instead of a cut-out, it means there is a config file pointing to a folder in which an image with that UID is not present. This generally happens when an update pack is installed in a separate folder and not part of the overall faces folder, or there is a rogue config file somewhere. It could also be that you have somehow not downloaded the full megapack but only part of it. Search within the graphics folder for the UID of this person, and you will probably find the secondary image. Delete that folder, and it should be fine.

Otherwise, follow the steps in this comment and post the results so that we can assist you.
In line with guidance on the official SI forums, At present, FM26 cannot handle multiple files with the same name. For example, if you have two files with the name "kit.png", it will not load both. and Player Faces: These work fine. You do not need the icon files anymore, and they can cause issues with the note above. Delete them.

As a result, the iconfaces are no longer available for download because they're not needed. You should also delete the iconfaces folder manually from your system too 👍
You need to change your user data location. Simple steps on how to do so can be found here.

It is recommended that the user data location is not placed within the Steam installation folder as this may cause issues.
The torrent file includes the base megapack uploaded just before that year’s FM version is released. Any and all subsequent update packs are to be downloaded separately.
For those who have never used torrents, in the vast majority of cases, it's just a question of downloading the client program (a small file, less than 1MB) and then downloading the megapack torrent file (a tiny file, around 20k) and then letting the program do the job.

Torrent files need a torrent client to be downloaded. I personally use µTorrent but other common clients are BitTorrent, Vuze and Deluge. For those using torrents for the first time, here is a general walk-through on how to download torrents and a specific guide for µTorrent.

Be aware that it will take a substantial amount of time to download the file due to its sheer size and that other people depend on you hosting the file to get it so please leave your torrent client on after you have fully downloaded it. The etiquette is generally accepted to be to upload as much as you download, although this might not always be possible. The older the torrent file, the less likely it is that there will still be users seeding it.
Please report this so that they can be reuploaded. Since the files are hosted outside our pages, there isn't much we can do about this unfortunately. You could try downloading the pack via torrent and get it this way.
Extracting the file will take a while, but it shouldn't take the hours and hours that the program extracting will sometimes say it will. To speed it up, it is recommended that you have as few programs running as possible so that the system can dedicate as many resources to the extraction as it possibly can.

Secondly, for files as large as this, the calculation of the extraction time will be wildly incorrect at the start. After a while, it'll show a more realistic timeframe, which shouldn't be more than an hour or two if you have a good setup and few programs running at the same time.
You might have a poor internet connection or your browser might have some extensions which interrupt this download. Having loads of downloads ongoing and/or streaming may also de-prioritise this download.

Try using Google Chrome in incognito mode (or the equivalent mode for other browsers) and you should be able to resume the download from the point it was interrupted, if that happens.
The most recent update pack will include the most recent config file, so you can choose to download it and use it from there.

Alternatively, you can download fmXML and generate a config yourself. There's a video on YouTube on how to use it but it's really easy and the instructions are quite straight-forward.
Down the years, after an update pack was released, it was noted that some images included therein where of the wrong person, with a wrong extension or duplicated. Due to the way the download system is structured, these cannot be removed from the download, so there may well be a couple of hundred images’ worth of difference, depending on the version you download.
Our megapack covers 25,000 teams and it's impossible to cater for these kind of requests since players and staff get transferred or sacked or retire etc and recreating and reuploading 25,000 different smaller packs would be an impossible task. That's why we have all the images in a megapack so that everything is captured therein.
These persons do not appear in the default database for licensing reasons. This means that they only appear in your save-game because they were added via a custom file, generally the real name fix file. However, this means that their UID (which is what is used to map a person's image to the right individual) is different, and so the game cannot assign the image to them from your existing facepack.

To get them to show, you should individually download any previously available cut-out faces from here (or use the UID to find them in your existing facepack if you don't use the cut-out megapack), put them in a separate folder to your existing facepack and create a config file just for them using the method outlined in here (which works for all facepack styles, not just the cut-out megapack).

No idea why. It'll be an installation issue of the pack you downloaded a few hours ago, because they're all in the megapack.

You had the full megapack, according to your download history. Then you decided to download and install the 2026.00 update pack 😕

No idea why you would do that, how you installed it, and how you managed to mess it up. Screenshots may help me identify the issue, but I would suggest downloading the base 2026 pack, and download and apply the subsequent update packs in order.

Edit: I'm seeing you also downloaded the new player update pack yesterday. Did you install it in a separate sub-folder, or in the faces folder?

Make sure it's installed properly.

You should have 491,000+ images in your faces folder - is that the case? If not, you haven't the full megapack. If you think you're OK, can you make a search in the graphics folder of 85139014 (the UID of Mbappe)?

Before you take a screenshot, can you sort the results in the manner outlined below?

This can be achieved by posting the UID in the red circle, choosing the view tab via the blue circle, the details option in the black circle and making sure the folder column in the green circle is long enough to display the full path.

When you run the search, can you change the below search options?

This will help me see if there is one or more other folders in your user data folder which contains one or more other facepacks, and where that image is coming from within your files…

Does anybody know when/if the national team player/staff faces are coming back to FM26 ?

I haven't played since they have made this change, it really takes me out of the game aesthetically.

Hi all,

Is there some kind of bug looking at some players in the national team lineup? Ben Nink here (on the Lille squad screen) shows (top image) but on the Germany National team screen (bottom image) his face doesn't, what's going on?

Any help would be appreciated

This is an intentional addition by SI, as per this post on their official forums. Doesn't seem like there's anything which can be done about this so far, unfortunately.

downloaded the “Cut-Out Player Faces Facepack” avatar file, but every time I click on the disk, it uses 100% of the CPU. Why is that? It's also very slow to delete. I'd like to know why.

Not sure what “click on the disk” means… your anti-virus is scanning the files when you access the drive?

Anyway, it's just a straightforward reason:

There are about 300,000 files in the pack, and your computer needs to work hard to process, and your hard disk takes time to delete the files.

The compressed file containing the avatars is about 13 GB. After extracting it to the correct location, my computer became very slow, the system frequently froze, games wouldn’t run properly, and even right-clicking to view file properties would cause the hard drive to work at full capacity—let alone actually opening the file. When I try to delete it, the computer displays a message saying the Recycle Bin is calculating the time, and the hard drive usage in Task Manager is always at 100%. I’ve completely given up on FM26.

We have a dedicated cut-out section, with a dedicated technical support thread, so I've moved your post into here.

Have a good luck at the main post, see if anything helps. If it doesn't, please provide screenshots of your megapack folder, showing clearly the full path it’s located in as well as how many images are in that folder.

I wanted to download the cutout faces megapack in torrent format, while waiting for the torrent to download, i noticed there were no seeds or peers, therefore the download was stuck at 0%. Does someone have a solution to this problem ?

where is the face? It's all blank, there's no image even though I'm using FMXML

There should be a config.xml file coming with the pack, therefore you don't need FMXML or any programs to build another config.xml. Even if you're to add an image for a player, whose picture isn't in the pack, you may just add an entry to the config.xml with a text editor.

However, I suppose a well-known player, like Trossard, is already included in the config.xml from the pack. Just extract the face pack to the folder, and you're ready to play.

Anyway, there are 3 things required to show a picture of player in the game:

  • Player ID
  • Image file
  • The corresponding entry in the config.xml file

So, please check if the above are all valid…

me too, I've had the face pack downloaded since Fm26 came out and worked fine up until the recent international update, the game just freezes for me in the loading menu now. I removed the face pack from my graphics and it worked just fine.
